To believe a 2 minute hate for Jacob Rees Mogg is justified

And why not? Trashing the reputation of Mark Carney. Moving his finance business to Ireland in order to keep his business in the EU. And still persisting in telling us suckers that we'll all better off outside the EU. Not financially better off, no, not for many years but we'll be free of the tyranny of t he euro state. Hurrah.

Jacob RM doesnt hide what he is (a hypocritical, lying, amoral toad). If people are stupid enough to think they're his friends rather than a resource for him to exploit , then they have no-one to blame for their stupidity but themselves and their own greed and bigotry.

Idontbelieveinthemoon · 29/11/2018 10:23

Is there a round of applause emoji? All of this. All of it. RM is an arsehole so by my logic those around him either don't care or are stupid.

Bittermints · 29/11/2018 10:25

He is loathsome. Round of applause for the thread title.

Onlyjoinedforthisthread · 29/11/2018 10:46

Is that the same mark Carney you forecast a deep recession if leave win the referendum? Unfortunately leavers aren't going to believe his forecasts anymore and will put this down to project fear and to be honest I can see why even I don't agree

Mainie · 29/11/2018 10:47

Why only two minutes? Seems a bit paltry in the circumstances.

longwayoff · 29/11/2018 10:53

Belated thanks to visionary George Orwell for title although agree could definitely spend a bit more time than 2 minutes. Onlyjoined, you clearly haven't noticed that we haven't left yet and the recession will follow shortly behind it when we do. Enjoy your house price drop and hiked interest rates.

Pumperthepumper · 29/11/2018 10:57

Mark Carney was the only calm voice when the referendum result was announced, he was the only person who said ‘it’s not good but we were prepared for it’ - I can’t think of a single other person who said that and meant it. JRM is a hideous person.

ErrolTheDragon · 29/11/2018 11:00

I'd go for a 'despise' of much longer duration TBH.

countrygirl99 · 29/11/2018 11:00

Mark Carney is often just spotted. It helps if you actually read his speeches/ articles and then compare them to press articles. It's hard to believe that they are talking about the same thing. Did anyone hear the interview on today this morning?

Onlyjoinedforthisthread · 29/11/2018 11:01

The recession, along with an emergency budget, was forecast for immediately after the vote neither happened. If you can't see why people who voted leave despite these warnings, which didn't materialise, won't believe these warnings then you need to get your head out of the sand.
They were told vote leave equals immediate recession, leave won no recession. Now they are told no deal equals immediate recession why would they believe that when the first forecast was wrong? Mark Carney and the treasury lost the trust of leavers in 2016, it needs a completely different approach to get them to change their minds, Mark Carney is preaching to the converted

WTFIsAGleepglorp · 29/11/2018 11:03

I can't believe the trashing Mark Carney is getting!

He's in charge of the Bank of England!! He was hired on his high merit and, IMHO, hasn't put a foot wrong so far.

All of a sudden, he doesn't know his job and he doesn't know what he's talking about.

He disagrees with people who are some of the most conniving, hypocrites who have failed at being Prime Minister and failed at raising a vote of no confidence in our current Prime Minister.

BoJo and JR-M are despicable wannabes who have more than likely taken steps to protect themselves and their money from the effects of Brexit.

Something a lot of their employees aren't capable of doing.

Mistlewoeandwhine · 29/11/2018 11:06

Rees Mogg and Boris are wicked. Their ego trip will destroy our economy and cause great suffering and death ( suicide, homelessness) for he most vulnerable in society. They are evil.

BarbarianMum · 29/11/2018 11:06

I heard it countrygirl. I thought he sounded like the voice of reason - which is probably why he's being vilified. Sad

Talkinpeece · 29/11/2018 11:11

I just wish that Evan Davies had asked him WHICH products cannot be bought in the UK because of sky high EU tariffs

because I very much doubt he could name one

the "red tape" he wants to get rid of is

  • employment protection law
  • environmental protection law
  • health and safety protection law
  • wildlife protection law

no thank you

longwayoff · 29/11/2018 11:13

He knows nothing, he's Canadian, the Treasury knows nothing, PM knows nothing. The only people who 'know things' are Bojo, Rees Mogg, Farage and Aaron Banks. If you find yourself in this company it's not yet too late to question why.

Im talking about the interview with Mark Carney, to be clear.

ChardonnaysPrettySister · 29/11/2018 11:14

YABU.

Only two minutes? He deserves more.

Patroclus · 29/11/2018 11:16

Carney is one of those bloody people who actually know what theyre talking about we all hate now. The kind of loser who has read a book for fun.

Talkinpeece · 29/11/2018 11:16

JRM was unbelievably rude about Carney on PM yesterday
"second rate failed politician"
and Evan Davies did not even attempt to land the easy punches

it is so sad when BBC politics has become so spineless

thank goodness for Parliamentary Committees asking the hard questions

Pumperthepumper · 29/11/2018 11:20

OnlyJoinedforthisThread you were also told that the NHS would have an extra 350 million and the people who said that admitted it was a lie. They actually admitted it. Yet you still trust them?

Pumperthepumper · 29/11/2018 11:22

onlyjoined I apologise, I think I read your post incorrectly. Still a weird double standard for people not to trust MC but believe JRM, BJ etc

Poloshot · 29/11/2018 11:23

I think he's fantastic

BertrandRussell · 29/11/2018 11:30

Anti abortion but profits from the manufacture of the abortion pill.

Pro Brexit but has moved his business interests to Ireland.

Lovely bloke.

MissEliza · 29/11/2018 11:30

Long way off Hear hear to your last post! I used to believe in everyone's right to an opinion- it is after all the basis of democracy. Hiowever, watching and listening to Leavers who reject every negative forecast but offer no proof of their own makes me think some people don't deserve the right to vote. Of course Bojo etc are worse because they should have the education to work it out. No deal will be an economic disaster.

Fooferella · 29/11/2018 11:38

I love Mark Carney, he's swoonalicious (misses point of thread entirely)
