Gogglebox, the family who wear their shoes indoors

I like this family but I can’t help but wince when I see a plate full of biscuits on their foot rest surrounded by feet encased in trainers.

AIBU to think they should TAKE THEM OFF!

Sorry.

I wear shoes indoors because I'm on maternity leave and my feet start to hurt otherwise. If it helps I don't have a foot rest. Biscuit

DontCallMeCharlotte · 20/11/2018 22:49

With all those big dogs around, I'd be wearing wellies.

sosmooth · 20/11/2018 22:50

Maybe the snacks are just there for show as they never ever eat them. Or maybe they all realise they're disgustingly close to shoe treads to want to eat.

RockYourSocksOff · 20/11/2018 22:50

I don’t mind the dogs just the treads GrinBiscuit

Urgh I hate shoes indoors too. Not for hygiene reasons though, it just makes me feel claustrophobic!!!

sosmooth · 20/11/2018 22:51

The dogs sat all over the furniture bother me too actually although I know I'll be unpopular for saying so.
I love animals but not on my furniture!

Katinkka · 20/11/2018 22:51

The dog ate a bun once when they were all out of the room. I was howling 😂

12christmaswishes · 20/11/2018 22:52

This is such a strange thread, who on Earth worries about shoes inside 🤷‍♀️

RockYourSocksOff · 20/11/2018 22:53

Dogs punching food I wouldn’t have a problem with Grin

Good grief, it's a program on TV, it's not your house. Sadly Dave the dog had to be PTS recently but they do have other dogs. So what? Do what you do, they do what they do. Each to their own.

EarringsandLipstick · 20/11/2018 22:53

Oh me too! I love this family but I can’t bear seeing the shoes.
(But full disclosure I am v OTT about this & know it - I hate shoes on in the house, wouldn’t tell any guests to take them off but feel v anxious if they keep them on Confused)

RockYourSocksOff · 20/11/2018 22:53

Fgs! Pinching food!

I get you op yanbu! Grin I never do outdoor shoes inside.

Celebelly · 20/11/2018 22:56

Aww I didn't realise about Dave :( There's a great video of him snaffling biscuits while they're all out of the room. He was a lovely big lump.

Orange6904 · 20/11/2018 22:58

Maybe they are 'house shoes' that they just wear for the show lol.

ILikeyourHairyHands · 20/11/2018 23:00

I never understand these shoes off in the house threads. Do you really expect guests to shuffle around in their stockinged feet? When you have guests for dinner do you welcome them wearing your slippers?

I don't think I've ever been a guest as a house in the UK where I was expected to remove my shoes.

Armi · 20/11/2018 23:01

No!!!! Dave is dead?! That is sad. They must be heartbroken. Poor Malones.

I’ve never noticed their shoes. I’m always distracted by their beautiful dogs and how much they love them.

Oh , poor Dave.

RockYourSocksOff · 20/11/2018 23:02

Sausage, you could be right! Still, what’s wrong with a lovely tartan, soft lined slipper Halo

We're a shoes on household but I do wince at shoes so close to the snacks and am always amazed that the dogs don't snaffle the treats

curgina · 20/11/2018 23:05

Why is this any of your business

Well, it's a reality tv show designed entirely to get people talking about them. So...?

Tawdrylocalbrouhaha · 20/11/2018 23:05

Honestly, considering their house is wall-to-wall dogs (big dogs too), shoes are the least of their hygiene problems.

I love Dave though, he is such a good dog.

FitzChivalryFarseer · 20/11/2018 23:07

If you have a dog, there is not much point taking shoes off inside. Personally, I prefer people keep their shoes on than allow their stinky feet out.

curgina · 20/11/2018 23:07

If you've read these threads before then surely you know the answers to these questions? Yes, people walk around in their "stockinged" feet. I've done it at numerous friends houses (although I don't make people do it at mine, but I probably would if we had carpets). It's not a big deal.

Yes or they can bring slippers or wear some of mine and yes I greet everyone who comes to my house in slippers or barefeet!
