The whole active thread list is always taken up by tons of trans bashing threads. How is it acceptable? Anything relating to anyone transgender is bashed. If this was against another minority of people, race, sexuality, religion it would be taken down and reported as hate crime. I don’t understand how the feminism board makes it acceptable?

If you’re a fat woman, who is also an asshole, should I refer to you as ‘fat girl’ everytime I speak to you? Just to use your insecurities to slap you in the face?

Yes, cos it'd be the truth innit, going by this logic. Only stating facts, they ARE fat! So saying fat girl would be right.

SmileEachDay · 16/11/2018 13:39

Right so that’s how this works? If you don’t like someone you can say what you want about them with no regard for anything else?

That’s not what I said, Early, which is why you only c&p the words from my post which suited you.

But you knew that.

VerbeenaBeeks · 16/11/2018 13:40

I'll take that to mean you are bored

You do that then, extremely enlightening that you cannot or will not see it though.

Perfectly1mperfect · 16/11/2018 13:40

India Willoughby has some extremely unpleasant views on gender non conforming people and has asserted on many occasions that if you haven’t had surgery you aren’t trans. Which in many people’s eyes would be extreme transphobia. Far more so than using incorrect pronouns.

Regardless of Indias views, she should still not be called 'he'.

I don't like the views of a certain black rapper. That doesn't mean I can be racist towards him. I can say that I don't like his views though.

PlantsArePeopleToo · 16/11/2018 13:40

Hmm

That argument doesn't work because we aren't talking to India, we are talking about them.

And why would someone who is fat automatically be insecure about it?

VerbeenaBeeks · 16/11/2018 13:42

Yes, and even saying they repeatedly when she isn't a they just to prove your point or to refuse to accept her is just as bad as saying he.
She's a she.

Rufusthebewilderedreindeer · 16/11/2018 13:43

plants

I think its the 'they' bit

I dont even read every word in posts, i get the gist and if its interesting or i think what the fuck i will take a closer look

Rufusthebewilderedreindeer · 16/11/2018 13:43

Oooh cross post

Aridane · 16/11/2018 13:43

We're all pretty good at identifying who's male and who's female and it's not about clothes or make up

I can find it quite difficult to tell with a certain look of teenagers

SmileEachDay · 16/11/2018 13:43

I didn’t call India “he”. I don’t care about pronouns. I was highlighting the irony of defending the right of India to be called “she” when India spouts some pretty (in some people’s eyes) transphobic views.

Rufusthebewilderedreindeer · 16/11/2018 13:44

They is pretty much a habit now

Someone got deleted the other day for misgendering someone who is an actual man and is happy to identify as such as well

Its just not worth the risk

YY. It’s quite easy to talk either to or about someone without referencing their weight or physical appearance (although some have yet to master this skill).

Much less easy to talk to or about someone without using pronouns he/she. Thankfully we have the option of ‘they’.

VerbeenaBeeks · 16/11/2018 13:45

Who's they? India? If so, you're doing it again.
This is no doubt why pronouns are now seen as important, to try and stop any hateful shit, or refusal to accept any transwomen as women.

PlantsArePeopleToo · 16/11/2018 13:47

@Rufusthebewilderedreindeer

I did kind of gather that tbh. I just don't see what the problem is. "They" is a perfectly acceptable (although probably not grammatically acceptable in lots of peoples eyes Blush) gender neutral pronoun that I often use for people.

I'm still baffled how it means I'm denying they are a she though? If I referred to @VerbeenaBeeks as 'them' would they throw a tantrum and claim I'm denying their womanhood?

Rufusthebewilderedreindeer · 16/11/2018 13:47

What confuses me about this whole thing is a poster will come on and ill agree with very nearly everything they say

And then they will just say something so awe inspiringly dumb that im just Shock

And thats all sorts of posters!!

WomanOfTime · 16/11/2018 13:49

Yes, and even saying they repeatedly when she isn't a they just to prove your point or to refuse to accept her is just as bad as saying he.

I do not believe or accept that human beings can change sex. So it's 'they' or initials if I'm being kind, and 'he' where accuracy really matters. It's not about IW's views or behaviour. It's about reality.

I wouldn't call someone 'fat girl' but I wouldn't comply if they demanded I call them thin when they weren't, either.

PlantsArePeopleToo · 16/11/2018 13:50

Who's they? India?

Yes. India was a person last time I checked, therefore they are a they.

Do you have a panic attack every time I refer to someone who isn't trans as 'they' or 'them' as well?

EarlyWalker · 16/11/2018 13:50

When people convert to Islam and change their name, do you refuse to address them by their new name? After all islam is very mysogonistic. Or if you saw someone doing this deliberately as they didn’t agree with the religion, would you see that as islamiphobic?

Rufusthebewilderedreindeer · 16/11/2018 13:51

plants

Sorry lovely Smile

Better safe than sorry i think

For a while certain posters were being deleted for ...well, nothing really so i can see why some people would be extra careful

Im usually happy using preferred pronouns, but sometimes i forget

VerbeenaBeeks · 16/11/2018 13:51

It's bloody rude though, and it would be dismissing me as a woman. I'm not they. Hmm
I'm she.
Would you like it if you were constantly referred to as them or they because people didn't want to call you she?
Every time they spoke to you, or wrote about you, referred to you as they? Especially on public threads for the person to see?
Being called a man or he repeatedly is just as bad as being called they repeatedly if you're not a they or a them, and you're a she.

SmileEachDay · 16/11/2018 13:53

Early how is that in any way the same as someone claiming to have changed biological sex, demanding access to sex segregated services and calling lesbians bigots for not considering sleeping with them and their “girl cocks”.

And yes, NATALT.

VerbeenaBeeks · 16/11/2018 13:53

Yes. India was a person last time I checked, therefore they are a they

So if somebody is a person, they are a they? So going by that logic, you'd call bio women they as well then, even if they said they were a she.
"No, you're not,you're a they as you're a person."
Okayy.

PlantsArePeopleToo · 16/11/2018 13:54

Would you like it if you were constantly referred to as them or they because people didn't want to call you she?

I honestly wouldn't care.

In fact, go right ahead Smile

PlantsArePeopleToo · 16/11/2018 13:55

Sometimes I do, yes.
