I'm hardly her number one fan but I can't see how getting rid of her is the answer. They just don't seem to know what they're doing. It's an absolute mess whichever way you look at it.

Lottapianos · 15/11/2018 13:15

You're right, they don't have a clue. She's the best out of an appallingly bad lot and I hope she stays. My blood runs cold at the thought of any of the other options

CondomsLubricantAndFlapjack · 15/11/2018 13:16

No one wants the job so she'll stay until better times.

I think we should accept the deal and get on with running the country.

tiggerkid · 15/11/2018 13:17

Totally agree. Not a fan of hers either but there is nobody, who would be perfect for the job at this time because nobody has ever led the country through Brexit before. Therefore, nobody has any experience of this kind and, therefore, all others in her shoes would have to figure their way out by trial and error. Admittedly some better than others but still nobody would do a perfect job of it.

I personally think this is the main reason why Cameron chose to pack his suitcase and get out soon after the referendum. Nobody wants to be the unpopular PM. It's much easier to manage the country through the stable time. She may be a bit socially awkward but frankly still has a heck of lot more in terms of balls than many men would in her place.

I was never a massive fan of hers even when she was the Home Sec but I still think she gets a massive amount of cr** that she doesn't necessarily always deserve.

Yewnicorn · 15/11/2018 13:18

Completely agree!

ChelleDawg2020 · 15/11/2018 13:18

She's shit, but there's no competition. Nobody wants the job at the moment (either her own party or the opposition). It's much easier to criticise than it is to sort the whole mess out.

ChardonnaysPrettySister · 15/11/2018 13:18

I’m not a fan of her but it’s impossible to deliver a Brexit everybody is happy with.

Brexit is poison that was sold to the Leavers wrapped up in the Union Flag and garnished with the red NHS promise bus.

KennDodd · 15/11/2018 13:21

I blame Leave voters for this completely predictable and predicated mess, after all they always insisted that they knew exactly what they voted for.

Karwomannghia · 15/11/2018 13:21

She’s in an impossible position. She must have nerves of steel and a lot of energy!

JanetLovesJason · 15/11/2018 13:21

No fan of her’s either but she’s at least had to guts to try and navigate this shitstorm, unlike the rest who are only capable of shit-stirring.

EmmaGellerGreen · 15/11/2018 13:21

“Accept the deal and get on with running the country”.
Except that this deal leaves us worse off, we have all the obligations of the customs union but no say in how it is run!

HerLadySheep · 15/11/2018 13:21

I'm a Labour voter and very defintely not a fan of TM but the poor woman has been handed an utter crock of shit. No matter what she does, it's always going to be a bad deal, because that's the only possible outcome.
I hope she stays in post as it is a terrible time to change the person in charge of this cock up, by the time Rees-Smug or whichever nobber takes over is brought up to speed it will all be over and we will be living in the Thunderdome!
That said, if I were here I'd happily hand it over and let them get on with it!

OksanaAstankova · 15/11/2018 13:23

I'd rather have Dave back than any of the current contenders. Particularly as it's his fault we're in this sorry mess, he can sort it out again.

mateysmum · 15/11/2018 13:24

Cameron should be hanging his head in shame. He called the referendum, thinking there could be only one outcome and then walked away leaving others to clear up the shit storm he had created.
All in all a depressing day whichever side of the debate you stand on.

ChardonnaysPrettySister · 15/11/2018 13:24

Except that this deal leaves us worse off, we have all the obligations of the customs union but no say in how it is run!
So maybe we shouldn’t have voted for Brexit then?
If we crash out we’ll be even worse off.

What do you think we should do?

SnowBrussels · 15/11/2018 13:25

I admire her strength and perseverance but I wouldn’t be surprised if she decided she’s had enough now. She’s tried her best, nothing wrong with bowing out and handing over to the Brexiteer challengers.

marvellousnightforamooncup · 15/11/2018 13:25

I'm not a Tory or a Brexiter and I think her whole 'hostile environment for immigrants' thing when Home Secretary was abhorrent. Even so, I'm amazed and impressed she's got a Brexit deal of any kind. I admire her stoicism in the face of criticism and obstacles in all sides.

I still think Brexit is bollocks.

ChardonnaysPrettySister · 15/11/2018 13:25

Fuck, i’d even have Tony Blair back....

araiwa · 15/11/2018 13:27

If not pm who has been in charge since the vote, who else?

She has a history of being crap and its no surprise this is crap too

drspouse · 15/11/2018 13:29

It's her fault in that she stupidly set up an impossible timetable, and hasn't even really tried to get her/Labour backbenchers on board with a common market membership (which the EU would have agreed to in 2 seconds flat and even though the total mess we're in has focussed people's minds, 5 minutes after the vote people would probably have agreed to it if asked).

KennDodd · 15/11/2018 13:29

Somebody even suggested Hugh Grant should have z go at PM, he was good in Love Actually.

MorrisZapp · 15/11/2018 13:30

Absolutely agree. This epic shitstorm simply isn't her fault. She'll be the one whose name and legacy is forever linked to whatever chaos lies ahead.

Cameron, Gove, Johnson are cowardly, self serving bastards.

And I don't want a general election. I hate the tories but christ can we not keep voting, splitting and falling apart.

Sturgeon can shut it too. Let the dust settle then see where we are. Call an indyref if polls consistently show an appetite for it. Right now, breaking unions apart to satisfy half the population is looking like a very shaky peg to hang ones reputation on.

Bluntness100 · 15/11/2018 13:30

Agree, I don't understand what the politicians are trying to accomplish. She didn't negotiate this, there are teams of civil servants on both sides who do, and those folks will stay the same, irrelevant of who is in power, or what party.

Plus no one wants it. Let's face it, Corbyn. Boris, who the fuck wants to be the face of this like she is. If she's saying this is the best we could get and it's this or no deal, I believe she has enough personal integrity for that to be true. She's hardly likely to be saying, fuck it, we could get much more but let's not bother.

And no deal would be a nightmare for us. So no it's not that Kay has spent the last two years of her tenure with her sleeves rolled up negotiating it personally, they all know that. She has a job to do, as prime minister, that five hundred odd page document was negotiated by a large team from our side and theirs.

dawnacorns · 15/11/2018 13:30

I agree herladyship
I do admire her because if it was me I'd have said fine get on with it. Yes maybe CallmeDave ought to be forced to sort out the mess. She's given it a bash and that can't have been easy.

It's much easier to criticise than it is to sort the whole mess out. Absolutely.

OP posts:
Wenttoseainasieve · 15/11/2018 13:30

I agree, i actually feel sorry for her! (Most unlike me)

ClairefromMergersAcquisitions · 15/11/2018 13:30

Theresa May has been appalling. She came out all guns blazing, antagonising the EU and triggering Article 50 without a plan. The country was divided and she should have formed a cross party working group to come up with a way forward that was best for the whole of Britain. She has shown bad judgement - losing her majority in an unnecessary General Election - and putting ineffectual ministers in her Cabinet. And all the while austerity has continued to pummel the most vulnerable people in our country. She is contemptible.
