In your school? That happened to come out as the truth, or a lie?.
Just finished reading a really good thread on it and would love to hear more.
When I was in school the rumour was the classic someone put a mars bar somewhere it shouldn't... and that a teacher was having an affair with a pupil. (Wasn't true). Oh we also had the pe teacher apparently having an affair with the English teacher. That was true!.

Stupid autocorrect. That meant to say OP what's the test tube rumour?

Mumofboys95 · 27/10/2018 15:36

Rumour was a Bunch of boys found geography teacher on a porn website and played the video in her class she then wasn't in for ages then came back. Don't know if it was true or not

GertrudeCB · 27/10/2018 15:39

That the deputy head was a massive letch - true.

ConfusedMum82 · 27/10/2018 15:40

Science teacher and 14 year old female pupil were having it off. I thought it was rubbish, but he (the teacher) shouted at her in a lesson one afternoon and she stood up and shouted back that he was starting in her as she was chatting to a male pupil and he was jealous because he (the teacher) had gotten her pregnant. The teacher walked out the classroom, with her following, got in his car and drove off, while we all sat there with Shock faces.
School told the parents he had had to leave "unexpectedly due to a family emergency"
We had the teachers having an affair (true).
Our school was rough though, it was regularly visited by the police whilst I was there. How my parents thought it a good school to send me, an utter nerd with bad specs, hair and braces, I will never know.

PippilottaLongstocking · 27/10/2018 15:42

Male Headteacher and female PE teacher we’re married (fact, not rumour) she then left him for another female teacher

ElsieMc · 27/10/2018 15:43

When I was at secondary school, a girl in my year was having a relationship with the woodwork teacher. She then moved on to the Geography teacher. She had a child but I cant remember who was the father. This was after she had left school though - as though that makes it any better.

I remember being unsurprised simply because I always knew. I was quite friendly with her sister as well and we just never mentioned it. Many years later, her son went on a few dates with my dd1.

WelcomeToGreenvale · 27/10/2018 15:44

That the school priest was a paedo, of course. Any talk about that was quite harshly punished.

He's now in prison for sex crimes against young boys in the 70s (that the church knew about and still allowed him to work in a school). So you know. That's good.

There was also the rumour of the teacher sleeping with a male pupil. That was true too, he left rather abruptly.

thebear1 · 27/10/2018 15:46

I found out after I left 6th form some students thought I was having an affair with my male form teacher. I wasn't.

PrincessJuanita · 27/10/2018 15:46

There was a rumour that our PE teacher was a lesbian (probably true) and that she brought her girlfriend to a hockey match and snogged her whilst the match was on (I'm thinking this part can't really be true but my best friend swore blind she saw them)

morningconstitutional2017 · 27/10/2018 15:47

Our really nice sports teacher was supposed to be a secret lesbian.

The headmistress had had a child and had given it up for adoption. Both were unmarried and we never found out if either rumour was true.

Bad tempered secretary (now retired thank goodness) makes out to her friends that she was actually the head teacher.

GetYourRocksOff · 27/10/2018 15:52

When we were in 2nd year (so 13/14) one of the result gobby nasty girls disappeared for a few months. She'd started wearing baggy kappa tracksuits before hand.

She came back and was always going on about her new baby cousin and has a keyring with his picture and a necklace with his name. We all thought it was hers but we were all scared of her no one would have said that to her.

Turns out we were right. A few years ago it all came out. She'd had a baby and her mums sister raised him as her own but the girl from school couldn't keep it a secret any longer. She was about 28 when she finally spoke out so he would have been about 15. Really sad.

TooManyPaws · 27/10/2018 15:52

Girl in the class below me was having an affair with the married history teacher. True as they ran off together and later married.

That the headmistress was really a man in drag. Very probably fake but she was an very masculine-looking woman with a lot of dark body hair showing who made it worse by dressing in very frilly ultra-feminine outfits.

Blackladybug · 27/10/2018 15:52

I'm not sure if the OP's test tube rumour was the same, but in our school it was that a girl stole a test tube, took it home and was masturbating with it when her brother came in, she shut her legs and it smashed inside her Hmm

Polpette · 27/10/2018 15:53

Oh god yes the test tube urban legend. Even though it's not true it still makes me flinch thinking about it. Not sure we ever really believed it, at our school it was never about a fellow pupil, always something that had allegedly happened to a girl from a rival school.

SassitudeandSparkle · 27/10/2018 15:54

There was a rumour that two of the teachers (married to other people) were having an affair but I never found out if it was true, which probably means it wasn't! I also saw it mentioned on Friends Reunited when that was still going, so it was a widely circulated rumour.

MawkishTwaddle · 27/10/2018 15:56

The Politics A level teacher was having an affair with a sixth former.

Yup. True.

JellieEllie · 27/10/2018 15:59

Someone at my school got the nickname "dog shagger". The rumour was that she had put dog food on her hooha and let the dog lick it off.
I highly doubt there was any truth in it. I still feel sorry for that girl even now, her school days ruined by a stupid rumour. She had no friends at all and was always alone.
She's now an extremely successful business woman and good for her.

NarcolepticOuchMouse · 27/10/2018 16:01

Secondary school, the rumour was one of the teachers was a lesbian. In reality she'd had a boyfriend decades ago that she was madly in love with. He'd died unexpectedly when they were both young adults and she just never moved on. I found out from other adults and became the kid that told all the rest off whenever I heard it still flying around. Defending teachers doesn't make you popular, but it turns out being a heartless little git makes you less so.

zen1 · 27/10/2018 16:01

Male history teacher was having a relationship with 15 yr old female student - true. He went on to be a headmaster at another school.

Maths teacher was arrested in a public toilet for sexually assaulting a boy. True - it was later in the local paper that he’d been charged.

JellieEllie · 27/10/2018 16:02

There was also a maths teacher who went by the nickname "nonce".
Unfortunately it did actually turn out he had groomed many girls at school and was later sentenced for his crimes.

ClashCityRocker · 27/10/2018 16:02

That out German teacher had a tattoo of a naked lady under his beard.

Probably not true.

Various teachers having affairs - most turned out true.

Our English teacher used to keep ghosts in jars. The lady in question seemed convinced it was true.

Our (young) graphics teacher moved into the area, went out round town one night and had a one night stand.... Only to find her random drunk shag sat in the front row of her a level graphic design class on her first lesson. Jury's still out. She didn't last very long and the lad in question swears down it was true.

Bluetrews25 · 27/10/2018 16:04

That our latin teacher was Ade Edmondson's auntie. No idea if true or not. Many years later found out he was from Yorkshire, which is where the school was. This was in the time that The Young Ones was on telly.

Bodabing · 27/10/2018 16:08

That I was having an affair with the head of science. I wasn't. He was a friend of my parents so we were very familiar with each other BUT 10 years later he did go on to have an affair and marry a pupil. Hindsight made me reassess a few things! Urghh

Lizzie48 · 27/10/2018 16:10

Sadly, not just a rumour. The headteacher at our DDs' primary school has now been sentenced and is in prison for paedophilia, he was caught with a teenage boy. The hard thing is explaining to DD1 (9) why he isn't there anymore.

Binglebong · 27/10/2018 16:11

Male Headteacher and female PE teacher we’re married (fact, not rumour) she then left him for another female teacher
Shock

Did their surname start with H? There was this set up at a school I was at and I can believe anything of her (not being a lesbian that's bad - hurting her very nice husband by having an affair). She was an absolute cow.

It must have happened after I left it it was the same people. I'm suddenly trying to think what I could Google to find out...
