to be appalled that an NHS doctor is joking online about women smelling of fish

Online as well - on a global platform! This guy is surely discrediting the medical profession as well as the NHS, and god knows how his female patients would feel if they knew. He doesn't hide the fact that he works for the NHS and has 'Dr' in his twitter name.

The OP is under no obligation to provide context. If he wanted context, he could have kept his tweets instead of delete them, then we'd have seen the context ourselves.

Peach the context is Harrop persistently harassing women on line, doxxing gender critical women, threatening women with doxxing and generally behaving in a way that is massively inappropriate for a GP. So his “fish” conversation with a number of other people who also have at times been agressively unpleasant to woman is, at the very least, a little fishy.

Of course he knows the concept of calling women 'fish'. He a gay man who was studying medicine at Manchester University a few years ago, and this whole thing originated from Manchester Gay village.

My understanding is that: there are a considerable number of complaints in to the General Medical Council about Dr. Adrian Anthony Harrop. These have been made over a period of time. Fishgate being merely the latest demonstration of his misogyny.

The GMC will decide for themselves on the growing evidence provided to them.

The complaints are, in the main, to do with various comments/behaviours by said G.P.towards women.
Other unpleasant stuff too, is my understanding.

If he ( Harrop) was not aware of "fish", then where's the apologetic retraction?

He is busy now still on Twitter, tee heeing and distorting facts, with his status clearly describing himself as an NHS doctor.
Shame on him.

"Primum non nocere". Somebody needs to explain it to him. Preferably, on a big poster.

BertrandRussell · 17/10/2018 06:48

It is inconcieveable that they did not know the connotations of "fish".

DisrespectfulAdultFemale · 17/10/2018 08:32

The context is that Harrop is a gay man who is also a raging misogynist and TRA.

HTH.
