Breakfast was their dad's leftover chocolate ginger birthday cake which they attacked with cutlery while I was getting dressed and their dad was having a shit. Both of us thought the other was supervising. In less than 5 minutes they had demolished half of the best cake I ever baked... Mainly just hacking at it and eating chocolate ganache and crystallized ginger, but also eating enough of it to be Totally Mental for a good hour. I'm normally pretty strict about sugar. Maybe these are misters of my own creation.
They also both half ate bananas.
Breakfast normally consists of muesli, Weetabix, porridge or pancakes on a weekend, with fruit.
I'm still finding crumbs. I nearly cried.
Dinner was a shared cheap and cheerful falafel wrap from our local market. Toddler 2 ate all of it. Toddler 2 ate half the bread, carefully chewed and spit out each pickle, ate most of the falafel apart from the bits she crumbled and then demanded that I ate, smeared hummus all over the table, her face, her clothes and hair, ate all the salad. Toddler 1 are some of toddler 2's regurgitated pickles.
Tea was pasta with leftover lentil Bolognese and leftover red pepper and tomato sauce and cheese on top.
Tangerines and more half eaten bananas were also consumed. I have a small banana graveyard in my fridge. A new banana must be opened at each sitting. I buy huge cheap bags of them at the market and then mix the reject ones into their porridge. Apart from not when they start the day with delicious chocolate cake.
