Does anyone really care about this? I know tabloids are trying to push this as fascinating and brilliant news (probably at request of her dad) but who cares if a random upper class women gets married? Why is it on tv? Why would anyone be mad enough to go on watch a carriage possession in Windsor and more importantly why does the tax payer have to pick up the bill for security etc?

I watched this thought she looked amazing (best modern royal wedding dress by far). She looked so happy. I loved the way Beatrice sat with her mum rather than walking up the aisle, fergie probably needed a bit of support there. Reckon meg is definitely pregnant, the loose coat buttoned at the top clutch and gloves(??) held at stomach height getting out the car. The security cost taxpayers paid for increased substantially because the couple insisted on a carriage ride around town. She wanted a longer one than she got, but it has trimmed down fairly recently. Taxpayers are footing the bill for the cleanup too.

I do care - I care that public services are collapsing, that prisons are understaffed putting prisons officers lives in daily jeopardy, that crimes are going unchallenged and 'written' off because of a shortage of police officers and that the NHS and Schools are struggling to meet basic needs of those that need their service.

The unapologetic robbing of the public purse by independently wealthy people is a national disgrace. Eugenie and Jack are not public servants and in no way deserve public funds diverted to pay for their shindig.

I get a feeling that her Maj will never be challenged publicly about the largesse and money spent on the Royal family and all their own families and so on, as long as she is still with us.

But maybe when she exits stage left, there will be a lot more questioning of the cost of RF for all of us. Bonnie Prince Charlie will have to deal with that. Could be interesting!

I’m a republican but Eugenie looked nice today. The royal marriage statistics aren’t great but I hope they have a happy marriage. I think it’s quite sweet that he’s basically a bar man. He has family money and went to public school but at least he has a normal job.

Insensitive in the extreme to have such a lavish wedding when the country is suffering from the PM's austerity. Respect for the institution of the monarchy is hard won and easily lost.
