To not give a shit about the Eugenie wedding?

Does anyone really care about this? I know tabloids are trying to push this as fascinating and brilliant news (probably at request of her dad) but who cares if a random upper class women gets married? Why is it on tv? Why would anyone be mad enough to go on watch a carriage possession in Windsor and more importantly why does the tax payer have to pick up the bill for security etc?

Well to be honest I don't see why she shouldn't be on the tv for her wedding, since her cousins were.

Puzzledandpissedoff · 12/10/2018 09:44

Another here who'll check in for the outfits and probably the service, but while I hope they'll be happy I can't care all that much about folk I don't know who have no effect on anything

areyoubeingserviced · 12/10/2018 09:47

I don’t mind Eugenie. She and her sister appear to be lovely young women.
Don’t like their idiot of a father though

ShalomJackie · 12/10/2018 09:47

Actually she does work for the the pp who called her a freeloading junior royal who doesn't work.

I am interested to see what they look like etc and celeb spot amongst the guests.

The security bill is because more senior royals (ie. her family) are there so a bill that the tax payer would pick up for any event they attended such as Royal Ascot etc so I can't get too overexcited about that.

Each to their own. some will want to watch and some won't. Choose for yourself. It is the same as when the football/Olympics/Live Aid etc is on. Turn over if you don't want to watch.

Rosehip10 · 12/10/2018 09:51

@shalomjackie yeah so hard working she took 25 days off in the first 10 weeks of her "job"? Which I'm sure she got on merit............

Yoohoo?

BitchQueen90 · 12/10/2018 10:16

They can (and should) afford to pay for their own security, that's my issue. I don't care about it being on TV.

Sweetpea55 · 12/10/2018 10:23

Sophie Wessex wearing black,,nice dress but black for a wedding

Mushroomsarehorrible · 12/10/2018 10:25

YANBU

I possibly give even less of a shit than you, OP.

UnknownStuntman · 12/10/2018 10:25

Mixed thoughts.

I couldn't really give a toss about the Royals. They're a complete anachronism but some people are interested.

I sort of understood the Harry one as people had heard of him instead of this non-entity.
Although, this wedding actually involves someone in the Windsor bloodline.

Sweetpea55 · 12/10/2018 10:29

Agree,,tho i do like to see what they're wearing,

Sweetpea55 · 12/10/2018 10:34

I wish Megan would do something with her hair,,sh's forever shoving it back.

Vagndidit · 12/10/2018 10:36

I dunno, if one truly didn't care, would they spend time creating a post online to complain about it?

She's not a working royal so they should be super careful what they're asking the tax payer to fund directly.

The reason why the security is costing so much is the coach ride round Windsor, which to be frank there seems little interest in and is coming across as a piece of vanity. If they'd all stayed in the castle, security wouldn't be out of the ordinary for the royals.

I don't mind her as as a royal and I will google the dress later in the hope that she's found a style to suit her. Her imbecile father on the other hand should have been told to reign in family expectations.

Elasticity · 12/10/2018 10:55

The royal family are workshy and sponge off of the tax paid by the hardworking.

They should get 0 state funding towards weddings. In fact they should receive no state funding anymore. They have more than enough assets and cash that they can maintain their castles and fund their own wedding security etc for generations to come.

It is not fair that a child is born with a literal silver spoon in their mouth, to go on and never work a hard day's graft in their lives.

SalemBlackCat4 · 12/10/2018 10:56

I so don't give a shit that I cannot even be bothered to type this. lol

Clandestino · 12/10/2018 10:59

I am watching the pics to bitch about or praise the dresses. Other than that, same interest as in Kate's or Meghan's weddings, which is zero.
I actually don't get the obsession with royal weddings, nice to look at the attire but at the end of the day it's someone else's life there, why should I live it?

SalemBlackCat4 · 12/10/2018 10:59

Just watching it on tv in Australia, it is currently 7:59pm here on Friday night. Her wedding dress is GORGEOUS! So much better than Megan Markle's.

SalemBlackCat4 · 12/10/2018 11:01

What is that music she is walking down the isle to? It sounded like the foreboding music you'd see in horror movies.

Sweetpea55 · 12/10/2018 11:03

Kare Moss seems to have a ringside seat

Eliza9917 · 12/10/2018 11:04

Apparently her dress is going to show off the scars from her back surgery (I don't know what time the wedding is so just googled to see if there was a pic of her dress yet). That's pretty cool.

"Princess Eugenie's wedding dress is likely to show the scars of back surgery she underwent aged just 12.

The Queen's granddaughter was diagnosed with scoliosis and underwent corrective surgery that saw a pair of eight-inch titanium rods inserted alongside her spine.

She has invited the doctor who performed the life-changing operation to her big day and won't try to hide her scars as she walks up the aisle this morning.

The Princess, 28, said: 'I think you can change the way beauty is, and you can show people your scars and I think it's really special to stand up for that.'

Jan Lehovsky, a doctor at the Royal National Orthopaedic Hospital in Stanmore, North London, helped the royal 'stand straight' as a child.

Mr Lehovsky will be among a number of staff from the RNOH attending the wedding at St George's Chapel in the grounds of Windsor Castle in Berkshire.

Eugenie said of the surgeon's invite: 'The RNOH is a huge charity - the Royal National Orthopedic Hospital - I'm patron of their appeal and I had an operation when I was 12 on my back, and you'll see on Friday, but it's a lovely way to honour the people who looked after me and a way of standing up for young people who also go through this.'

The titanium rods and two 1.5-inch screws fitted to Eugenie's neck during the eight-hour procedure remain in place today.

Her mother, the Duchess of York, said the medical team had been invited 'in honour of the fact that she is walking up that aisle with a straight back because of them'.

Speaking ahead of Eugene's wedding to Jack Brooksbank, she told the Evening Standard: 'She did have what would have been very serious curvature of the spine.

'She certainly will be an extraordinary example of great work from the RNOH. The wedding is about love, future and inclusivity.

'What a huge, huge day for health, for the NHS, for the RNOH, and for hope. This is why this wedding is so beautiful. It's hope for other children suffering from scoliosis.'

In June, Eugenie published X-rays of her spine on Instagram – showing how it was straightened with the help of two metal rods - to raise awareness of scoliosis.

She said at the time: 'I'm very proud to share my X-rays for the very first time. I also want to honour the incredible staff at The Royal National Orthopaedic Hospital.'

The insertion of metal rods is one way of treating children with the condition. They are lengthened as the child grows and removed when they reach adulthood.

Eugenie is patron of a £15 million appeal to build a new ward block for the RNOH.

The princess's grandparents, the Queen and Prince Philip, are expected to attend the wedding next Friday - along with Prince Charles and the Duchess of Cornwall.

The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge and the Duke and Duchess of Sussex are also expected to be there - with Eugenie's older sister Beatrice, 30, being maid of honour.

William and Kate's eldest children, Prince George, five, and Princess Charlotte, three, are expected to play the roles of page boy and flower girl."
