Transphobia

SardiH · 11/10/2018 19:16

I am absolutely disgusted by the vile bigotry and absolutely hatred shown by some people on here. I realise those people peddling this feel justified in doing so. The truth is the bigoted never see their form of bigotry as bigotry. Racists doing think they bigoted they think they have a valid point of view - truth is they are vile racists. Homophobic people the same. Sexist people the same. Mysogynistic the same. Xenophobic the same. And transphobic = yes indeed, exactly the same. It's very sad. It's sad for the people who hold such hatred in their hearts. It's sad for the transgender community who have to live with the consequences of such bigotry and ignorance and haterd and opposition to just fulfilling their destiny as they feel it.

I just hope enough good people stand up with the trans community against this hatred and bigotry and that we move towards a better and kinder and more understanding world for transpeople. We have made great progress with this over recent years despite the best efforts of some.

I hope those with hate in their hearts can heal in time and become kinder and more understanding. My wise old grandma used to say those who bear hatred of others can never be truly happy.

I know the backlash to this post will be vile from some. I won't be reading the replies. I have no need to.

Love
X

But you do consider anyone who disagrees with your ideology and expresses their human right not to believe this a transphobe. Like not being forced into your disphoria impaired view of the world.

It's a human right to express that tranwomen are not women, it's not wrong and it's not hate.
You and those like you have views of what is transphobia which line up to neither law or reality.

CaptainKirkssparetupee · 13/10/2018 22:22

And this is why you are losing thousands of supporters weekly.
I don't expect you to understand, because those who are extremists rarely do, but that's why.

CaptainKirkssparetupee · 13/10/2018 22:23

And the more you do this the more people are turned away, for every person silenced more are turning their backs on your movement.

CaptainKirkssparetupee · 13/10/2018 22:25

You can't even comprehend any other point if view can you, you can't understand basic human rights. One rule, one view follow it or be silenced.

CaptainKirkssparetupee · 13/10/2018 22:27

People are just as entitled to their right of belief, as outline in article 9 of the human rights act as others are to express that they are female.

Neither are wrong, and neither are hate.

However silencing this is wrong.

CaptainKirkssparetupee · 13/10/2018 22:29

If you restrict the right to do this you guys are breaking the law.

CaptainKirkssparetupee · 13/10/2018 22:30

What's a transphobe?
Anyone who disagrees?

TalkingintheDark · 13/10/2018 22:32

A woman who doesn’t let male people dictate to her what she should think, say and do?

JAPAB upthread was drawing the usual false equivalence between gay rights and rights for male people who identify as trans.

The power balance between gay people and straight people was/is not equivalent to the power balance between male people who identify as trans and female people.

Gay people have historically been discriminated against by straight people; straight people have had more power in society.

Males who identify as trans have not been historically discriminated against by female people, who have never had and still do not have more power in society, not even anywhere near an equal amount.

On the contrary, male people - however they identify - have discriminated against female people for most of recorded history, and have had (still have) a disproportionately huge amount of power relative to female people.

Just look at the runaway success of the male-dominated and -led transactivist “civil rights” movement - male people excercising power and control over female people. Again.

Transactivists and their allies are notable for coming out with these false equivalences - another popular and deeply racist one is “if male people who identify as trans can’t be called women, then neither can black women” - as if the word “woman” only means white woman.

Or the other trope about excluding males from women’s facilities being like excluding black people from white facilities under Apartheid or segregation. Um, nope. Again, power dynamic. Doesn’t work. Use your noggin.

Women have never excluded males from our spaces on account of us being the privileged class deliberately discriminating against them and forcing them to use inferior facilities. Women don’t exclude males to demonstrate our supposed superiority. Quite the contrary.

We exclude males because as the oppressed sex class we need and are entitled to spaces free from our oppressors. And for protection against the violence and sexual violence that is meted out overwhelmingly by male people (however they identify) against female people.

Anyone who tries to find a parallel with racism there is deeply dishonest as well as seemingly incapable of rational thought.

But then, deep dishonesty, an incapacity for rational and critical thinking, and the complete denial of material reality are the trademarks of the transactivist movement, really. Along with deep misogyny and vast swathes of male privilege.

JAPAB encompasses all those attritibutes beautifully, fine ally that he is.

Do you believe it’s “TERF City” for women to not want to compete in sport against transwomen?

CaptainKirkssparetupee · 13/10/2018 22:40

Do you want to know why papers can print things that don't line up with your view?

Because difference of opinion is not hate.

Want to know why the complaints about the fair play for women ads don't hold up?

Because difference of opinion and fact isn't hate.

Want to know why the daily mail printed the story about Karen white?

Because news isn't hate. Even if it's about transpeople, it is still not hate. Negative news still isn't hate.

Well said Talkinginthedark! 🍷

GunpowderGelatine · 14/10/2018 00:08

Is no one going to take a punt at the definition of 'woman' the without using 'woman' or sexist stereotypes?

Imagine my shock.

Datun · 14/10/2018 00:08

Women have never excluded males from our spaces on account of us being the privileged class deliberately discriminating against them and forcing them to use inferior facilities. Women don’t exclude males to demonstrate our supposed superiority. Quite the contrary.

This needs repeating. There is a wilful disregard of the inherent power dynamic between men and women. Pretending that women have privilege over men. Believe me, if we did, will could all pack up and go home because this would be a non-issue.

TalkingintheDark · 14/10/2018 00:10

Cheers Ereshkigal! 🍹

NotBadConsidering · 14/10/2018 00:10

TidyLike YANBU. I am a hardcore feminist

Tell me, as a hardcore feminist how do you reconcile your antipathy towards “TERFs” and the fact that trans ideology has directly led to the sexual assault of four women?

TalkingintheDark · 14/10/2018 00:12

Imagine my shock. Grin

TalkingintheDark · 14/10/2018 00:13

Yy Datun, it would indeed.

Fatasfook · 14/10/2018 00:20

Humans can’t change sex without help from the doctors. I don’t want to share my lady spaces with non lady’s. I don’t care if a fella wants to live as a lady but I think he would need a seperate space to do things like get changed for pe. There should be a third space because transgender is a third gender. And that’s ok

Ereshkigal · 14/10/2018 00:59

I am a hardcore feminist

LOL. Sure.
