To ask what weird smells other people like?

My fella thinks I'm weird because I like to go in the garden and smell the damp wood on the shed.
If we are in the petrol station I open my passenger door and inhale as deep as I can which he says is embarrassing because I do it so obviously.
I love the smell of the pink stuff that car bumpers are patched up with aswell.
Also dogs when they've been in the rain.

Don't know how he can talk and say I'm a freak when he sits and enjoys the smell of his own farts.

Anyone else like weird smells that other people would find strange or just me?

Pipe smoke! I hate cigarettes, dislike vaping, and LOATHE cigars. However, I've been known to divert from my intended route in order to follow a pipe smoker down the street. I like it even more now it is getting to be so rare.

Another petrol fan here. I try not to look too obvious when filling up😀
Woods after rain.
Fresh coffee.
Babies.
Books.
The pipe tobacco my gf used to smoke.
Fresh hay (we have a guinea pig not a horse though😁)
Baby talc (i use it for me not babies)

My ds has hyper sensitive sense of smell. He used to say he smelt sardines after rain.

MickHucknallspinkpancakes · 11/10/2018 00:26

Not seen mine yet. So maybe I'm super weird 😳

I like opening the freezer cabinets in the supermarket, sticking my head right in (pretending to look at something) and sniffing the icy frost cloud. It smells awesome.

Also I love the smell of people's faces when they come in from the cold.

I make DS stand by the door while I sniff his cheeks like a bloodhound. 😳😳😳😳

I like the smell of my own farts so much I fart into a jamjar in the morning and then sniff it when I get home in the evening. Bliss

When I was a child, 50 years or so ago, there was a glue that came in a pale blue tub, with a flexible white plastic lid, inside the lid was a knobble on which clipped a little spatula to paste the (white) glue with.

I can't recall the name of the glue right now but it smelled a bit like marzipan (another smell I love). Anyone know what it was called?(not Copydex, that smelt fishy)

toastyarmadillo · 11/10/2018 03:14

@Ariela - was it Marvin Medium? I loved it too Blush

ThisIsTheFirstStep · 11/10/2018 05:06

Anything chemically - paint, petrol, creosote etc.

New plastic is delicious

New carpet - I used to go into General George and inhale deeply

And, hard to describe, but the slightly dusty, coal-like smell of some underground stations. The Bakerloo line is a classic example. I love it.

jemihap · 11/10/2018 05:23

Sometimes my dog has that lovely sweet smell of freshly cut hay. (To me at least!)
