I'm on the ball today, made a potato hash which is ready to be heated once the girls are home from school. My stomachs already rumbling for it lol.

What's on your menu for today?

We had potato mash too, bacon and eggs, potato and cheese. It was yummy.

MollysMummy2010 · 08/10/2018 19:06

Beef stew here too. Been in slow cooker all day and smells lovely!

Nononononono33 · 08/10/2018 19:08

Frittata with chorizo, peppers and cheese here. Fasting day so I’m hungry!

BigDamnHero · 08/10/2018 19:10

Butternut squash and ginger soup.

NotUmbongoUnchained · 08/10/2018 19:10

We had butternut squash, lentil and spinach curry with coconut rice and garlic naan. For some reason we’ve decided to carb load today Grin

SpamChaudFroid · 08/10/2018 19:11

Tuna steak, baby potatoes roasted in olive oil and broccoli. I noticed the tuna had gone a bit greyish on one edge when I defrosted it, is it still OK to eat? Was only in the freezer for about a week....

A PP mentioned hassleback potatoes, man I love those!

TubbyTubster · 08/10/2018 19:13

Baked salmon with hollandaise sauce, roasted potatoes and parsnips, steamed broccoli.

goldentrianglex · 08/10/2018 19:16

switswoo81 do you have a recipe? I have a slow cook but don't use it often enough as mine are not big meat eaters however meat balls are popular. Would love to give it a try if you have a recipe.

Eliza9917 · 08/10/2018 19:25

Roast chicken with whatever else is in the kitchen, salad or veg, I think there's coleslaw in the fridge.

NorthEndGal · 08/10/2018 19:27

Thank you! Happy Thanksgiving to any other Canadians on here!

Dontsweatthelittlestuff · 08/10/2018 19:30

Just eaten
Had jacket potato with chunky coleslaw salami and Milano.
Others added cheese and butter to their potatoes along with what I had.

Sidalee7 · 08/10/2018 19:48

Sausages, mash, gravy and veg.
It's been a tough day and was exactly what I felt like!

Polarbearflavour · 08/10/2018 19:49

Chicken korma with mushrooms and peppers and naan bread.

cookiemon666 · 08/10/2018 19:51

My oldest boy is cooking sticky chicken/ quote with rice for tea

3TresTrois · 08/10/2018 19:51

I had an uncharacteristic fit of cooking yesterday, so came home to a lovely chicken and sweet potato curry that just needed reheating. I’ve got a lasagne in the fridge for tomorrow, too.

Must remember to get my shit together like this more often! Grin

Kim82 · 08/10/2018 19:58

I was at work til 7 tonight so I have just chucked some spicy chicken burgers in the oven which I’ll have on a roll with lettuce and loads of mayonnaise. I’m bloody starving and can’t wait. It’s unhealthy oven food but I’m tired and couldn’t care less. I’ll make up for it tomorrow and eat an apple or something...

SpottedOnMN · 08/10/2018 19:58

prawns scare the life out of me

Prawns could not be easier. When they go pink they're cooked and it only takes as long as you need to heat them through. Add raw grey prawns to a sauce or a risotto for 2-3 minutes at the end and just make sure they're covered so they cook. Dig a few out to look at before serving.

We had leek and sweet potato soup tonight. Popular with everyone I've ever fed.

PookieDo · 08/10/2018 20:01

I had pesto pasta with chicken chorizo and spinach

mumof2sarah · 08/10/2018 20:01

I love seeing the comments about your children cooking teas for you, and the vast array of different meals being cooked. Some of you sound like proper nigellas/Ramsey's/Oliver's/berry's etc etc. I ate my tea and then read some more comments and got hungry again, nearly a full pack of jammie dodgers later I'm ready for bed lol.

Shepherds pie for tea tomorrow night 👏🏻 can't wait x

My children won’t cook. I find it depressing! I wish they would

BillyAndTheSillies · 08/10/2018 20:11

Just about to tuck in to a red Thai curry. I'm a little addicted to the Aldi Thai curry kits and usually have 5 or 6 in my cupboard for when it's been a long day.

ThanksForAllTheFish · 08/10/2018 20:14

DH is at work so just me and DD tonight. She had Quorn nuggets and chips with a mini corn on the cob.
I had last nights leftover veg (carrots, broccoli and charred garlic Brussel sprouts) with some boiled rice and extra hot Chinese curry sauce.

sabrinathethirtysomethingwitch · 08/10/2018 20:18

Just after our first beef stew of Autumn. Made homemade Yorkshire puddings to go with it. Delicious! Even better there's plenty of leftovers left for tomorrow. I find it so much easier to cook in colder weather. Lots of soups, stew, casseroles.

Ironfloor269 · 08/10/2018 20:19

Mutton (goat meat) curry, beetroot curry and deep fried plantain curry, on fluffy, white rice. Food of the gods!

maddiemookins16mum · 08/10/2018 20:25

I got home at 6pm (DD put the oven on at quarter to 6) we sat down at quarter to 7 for

Oven baked chicken thighs that I rubbed olive oil on, crushed some garlic in and added some dried thyme to at 8am this morning and stuck in the fridge.

Frozen Sweet potato fries from Tesco
Frozen sweetcorn and petit pois.

We also had left over blackberry and apple crumble and ice-cream from Sunday lunch.
