Good on you, Sir Patrick Stewart and Delia Smith!

Not just celebrities - some politicians and business owners, too.

I do love how rattled the BeLeavers are getting these days. They "won" so why don't they just chill?

If we get a People's Vote, I very much hope remain will be an option.

Max - you've been reported so we'll just ignore you.

Hurricane

Pay attention - we have already had a ‘people’s vote’. Back in 2016 a group of citizens (‘the people’) were asked to participate in a referendum (‘vote’)

10degreestostarboard · 07/10/2018 21:14

But I admire your honesty...

As I say, to rerun the 2016 vote (ie offer a remain option) would be electoral suicide so it won’t happen

MissSusanSays · 07/10/2018 21:22

2016 was two years ago. The situation back then was different. We know more now, mostly that a good deal isn’t a possibility. We are being prepared for a No Deal. Which is NOT the same as the relationship we had with the EU member countries before the common market.

I am baffled as to why so many people are so willing to gamble their future, and the future of their children and grandchildren, on rhetoric and the promises of Thenkind of disaster capitalists that caused the 2008 financial crash. They will make money whatever happens. What makes you think they give a fuck about the common man?

10degreestostarboard · 07/10/2018 21:33

Misssusan

You are right - it is two years on and we have more facts - namely that the eu are intransigent and cynical. My leave vote is going nowhere - if it’s no deal so be it

Walkingdeadfangirl · 07/10/2018 21:49

So rich people are using their money to try and overturn a vote they didn't like the result of. That sounds like a dictatorship democratic. I assume the second referendum would be to accept the negotiated deal or leave the EU without a deal?

HurricaneFloss · 07/10/2018 21:56

People who can spare £1,000 are giving people the opportunity to demand a say in the future of their country. I don't think places on coaches are being limited to remainers.

Some dodgy rich people used their money to influence the Leave vote in the referendum.

Train strike? Not a good day to hold a march. Will the buses even get there?

And a march in London - so what? There's one every weekend so who will notice?

10degreestostarboard · 07/10/2018 22:01

As opposed to dodgy rich folk (George soros?) bankrolling remain...

HurricaneFloss · 07/10/2018 22:09

10degrees - you wanted us to take back control? Don't you want a say in the deal that the UK gets? Will of the people and all that.

OP posts:
KC225 · 07/10/2018 22:09

Dull celebrities, so wrapped up in their own egos they offer to sponsor buses for the people's vote when it happened back in 2016.

Long live democracy.

Deadbudgie · 07/10/2018 22:18

So if get to vote on final deal, loads of remainers vote no as they are actually gunning to get the worst deal possible so they can say I told you so. In the meantime our negotiators have to sit there saying, well maybe, it depends what Tarquin and felicity think of the deal. Just let the negotiators negotiate, back the country and throw your energies into something else.

ghostyslovesheets · 07/10/2018 22:19

So rich people are using their money to try and overturn a vote they didn't like the result of. That sounds like a dictatorship democratic

hahaha so Boris and Nigel are what - real honest salt of the earth working men pmsl - you where LIED to by leave - they where backed by millionaires

stop with this cocking 'will of the people' shite - people didn't have the first clue WHAT they where even voting for!

10degreestostarboard · 07/10/2018 22:26

Leave the eu was what I voted for

So a hard Brexit then!

Don’t tell me I didn’t know what I was voting for. It’s very patronising

HurricaneFloss · 07/10/2018 22:31

So a hard Brexit then!

I love my country more than you then because I want the best deal.

OP posts:
ghostyslovesheets · 07/10/2018 22:32

fine you knew it all - more than even the actual Government knew - well done - but I get the impression many voted without being aware of the massive economic and social impact of a leave vote - the believed that millions would be spent on the NHS and we'd be better off

that was a lie

I know people who have already lost jobs due to Brexit - it's not a joke.

can I ask WHY you wanted to leave out of interest?

Jason118 · 07/10/2018 22:32

Shame you won't actually get what you voted for then, unless your crystal ball is better than most?Smile

Banamara · 07/10/2018 22:38

What do people believe this march will achieve?

There is a deal going on in the background now, and oh my, do not scupper that!

This march is too late. Far too late, should have happened last year. But people are afraid to wake up to reality until the last minute.

BoneyBackJefferson · 07/10/2018 22:40

JacquesHammer
I didn’t think it was that tricky a concept but democracy seems to baffle most leavers

that is funny coming from a group that have said that the first vote wasn't democratic.

EnthusiasmIsDisturbed

Unfortunately The People’s Vote is disorganized and they have left the process too late why now they have had all this time

Its almost as if no lessons have been learnt!

And just for information purposes I would be happy to have a "people's vote" on the final deal. It surely can't be any worse that those that currently have a say, but then history often repeats itself.

MorrisZapp · 07/10/2018 22:46

I don't understand the people's vote.

What would it say in the ballot paper?

HmmmWellAllRightyThen · 07/10/2018 22:52

I've always objected to celebrities using their star power to influence voters no matter which side they're on.

Jagblue · 07/10/2018 22:53

What are you trying to achieve? People already voted about it. That was the people's vote June 2016.

BadLad · 07/10/2018 22:59

So it wasn't "an illegal referendum" then.
