Good on you, Sir Patrick Stewart and Delia Smith!

Not just celebrities - some politicians and business owners, too.

Agree entirely op. I am glad they are making it easier for people to participate who want to. I hope there is a huge turnout.

why buses when the march is in London, the one place that is connected to EVERYWHERE by train???

two weeks away so plenty of time to get a cheaper fare. Perhaps the slebs could buy those tickets instead and reduce road traffic.

JacquesHammer · 07/10/2018 16:42

At least two major rail providers are on strike that day.

HurricaneFloss · 07/10/2018 16:51

Train fares to London from where I live are extortionate - even when booked on advance.

And some people can't afford to travel but should be allowed to protest.

when will remoaners get it through their thick heads....................?

AlexaShutUp · 07/10/2018 16:58

Fabulous idea, and good for them for putting their money where their mouths are. There is sadly no coach going from my area as yet, but I am planning to march anyway. We need to stand up and be counted.

EwItsAHooman · 07/10/2018 16:59

Plus one vehicle taking lots people is better for the environment and is less road traffic than lots of vehicles each carrying one person.

EwItsAHooman · 07/10/2018 17:01

when will remoaners get it through their thick heads....................?

It's not about leave or remain, it's about the country being asked whether we agree to the deal being offered.

Well done for getting in there with the first "remoaner" comment though, gold shiny for you and your quick wit.

10degreestostarboard · 07/10/2018 17:01

Do they have a time machine?

It’s just I thought we had a ‘people’s vote’ in 2016...

EwItsAHooman · 07/10/2018 17:05

It's a march for everyone, no matter how they voted in 2016 or where their feelings lie now in 2018. It's to tell the government that the people should be asked "do you agree to the terms of the deal?". It's not "should we leave?", it's not "should we cancel it?", it's not "should we stay?". It's "we are going, this is the deal, do we take it or do we reject it?"

JacquesHammer · 07/10/2018 17:05

It’s just I thought we had a ‘people’s vote’ in 2016

We had a referendum in 2016.

None of the options of which were “leave as an utter shit show”.

It’s about asking for a final vote on the deal to leave.

I didn’t think it was that tricky a concept but democracy seems to baffle most leavers

10degreestostarboard · 07/10/2018 17:07

And what happens if your ‘people vote’ rejects the deal?

We then end up stuck in limbo

Or is that your plan?

EwItsAHooman · 07/10/2018 17:10

Or is that your plan?

I don't have a plan. Are you always so paranoid?

SausageOnAFork · 07/10/2018 17:11

Is there a website showing where the coaches are going from?

As for the ‘when will the remoaners give it up comments’.....
So if you were in a restaurant and ordered steak and chip but the waiter brought you a bowl of porridge you’d be fine with that?
Leave voters are not getting what they voted for, just the same as remain voters.

10degreestostarboard · 07/10/2018 17:13

Hooman

No, I just don’t see how your limbo outcome would make us any better off than the deal

EwItsAHooman · 07/10/2018 17:16

No, I just don’t see how your limbo outcome would make us any better off than the deal

It's not my limbo outcome, I haven't said anywhere how I previously voted or how I'd vote this time. All I said was that it's not about leave or remain, it's about giving people a say on whether they accept the deal being offered which really is not an unreasonable request given the far reaching implications of that deal.

You really seem like you're nettling for an argument Hmm

SusannahL · 07/10/2018 17:21

Oh for goodness sake. Is this 'people's vote' nonsense still going on?

Lets be clear. We had a people's vote. It was called the referendum.
The leave vote won thankfully.

Please let's stop all this pessimistic hysteria. We were fine before we joined the Common Market in the early 70s and we will be fine again.

But no, so many people seem to positively revel in some imaginary doom and gloom scenario.

10degreestostarboard · 07/10/2018 17:22

Hooman

So is this vote about the principal or the outcome? If the former isn’t it just a protest vote? If the latter what outcome would you seek?

The problem with your proposal is that if we have a referendum on every potential deal, then we never really end up leaving or staying. How is that any good for economic stability?

But it’s all academic - I don’t think the uk will see another referendum on anything for many years now seeing as we voted the ‘wrong’ way during the people’s vote of 2016

FruitofAutumn · 07/10/2018 17:23

well this 'people's vote' baffles me! i

Oh hurrah, we’re playing meaningless soundbite bingo again.

You do understand that the suggested vote is open to all...

JacquesHammer · 07/10/2018 17:24

well this 'people's vote' baffles me!

Go figure

curious2 · 07/10/2018 17:26

when will remoaners get it through their thick heads....................?

What, that the result of an illegal non-binding vote held over two years ago has to be adhered to, no matter what the damage caused may be, and how inept the leave camp have been found to be in the meantime?

It is democratic to demonstrate in any case, or should we not allow it?
