WTAF!? What the fuck is wrong with people, this is absolutely disgusting how can people do such things?? This breaks my heart so much. Poor innocent helpless babies/children, why, just WHY!

I was watching tv 'this morning' today... a interview came on about a man who had been looking at indecent images. He got a 2 year suspended sentence?? This is indirect ABUSE.. it's still ABUSE whether it's indirect or direct! A suspended sentence is a fucking joke Angry

This kind of crime needs a more severe punishment! Bring back capital punishment for these crimes! There are a lot of monsters in this world Sad

Harsher than what? There doesn’t seem to be much experience on this thread to be honest. Who knows what his sentence will be? None of us. How do you know whether the last man who raped a baby was given to harsh or lenient of a sentance? These things are dealt with without publicity most of the time. You just don’t know

What I don’t understand is what this man expected to happen when he did this. Did he think the baby would be unharmed and he’d get away with it? He was obviously going to get caught.

glintandglide the way our country is going prison isn't a harsh sentence. So anything that a pervert gets by way of prison sentence is not imo harsh enough.

And it isn't just the OP people are discussing. Or did you miss the several examples given by people - examples that could easily be googled to check the facts - whereby perverts have been given no jail time & allowed back within society?

Prisons in this country are dreadful and many recent incidences in the news have shown how poor they are. Just because it’s not guatanemo bay doesn’t mean it’s butlins.

The examples given on here were for possession of images, and most people didn’t seem to have any direct involvements. There certainly wasn’t enough info to google the cases Hmm

Maybe chemical castration would stop people who are at the stage of looking at images of child abuse. I don't think it would stop people who had already committed acts of abuse. They would just abuse in other ways. You can't change them they should be locked away for life.

Prisoners get better treatment than some elderly folk in care homes. Hardly a deterrent. I know several 'hardened' criminals who much prefer life inside & one told me he deliberately breaks conditions of his suspended sentence to ensure he ends up inside.
I also have family who work in the prison system. It may be anecdotal & not widespread data but for me it is pretty clear things could be tougher. But then we will no doubt get the humans right spiel about how they deserve to be treated like people.

As for my harsher comment...i have posted about a very recent (July/August of this year) case of a pervert charged with not one, but three, counts of actual child abuse...with a 9 month suspended sentence. No prison time. No community service. He kept his job. That is NOT punishment in my eyes. I was threatened with prison time when i refused to get a bloody TV licence a few years back!!

That man was sentenced for possessing images of child abuse, not ACTUAL child abuse as per your statement above

This is what makes me despair. Money means more to this corrupt "justice" system than punishing actual crimes. Just because a man (or rarely, a woman) looks at child porn images but doesn't TAKE the porn photos, doesn't mean they are not culpable. They are very, VERY, much part of the whole fucking sick problem. Supply and demand.

But, who cares about that, right? Don't pay your TV license! Prison for you! Fraud? 3 years prison for you! Looking at child abuse photos, whereby that little innocent soul will have been taken somewhere, abused, and will then be left forever with having to deal with the traumatic after effects of that (and not just them, but those that love them, and those that know and come to know them, for the REST of their lives) - meh, who cares, just don't do it again in a certain time frame.

It's just so wrong. And no one cares. And nothing will change.

Chemical castration doesn't work for the dedicated because you can buy testosterone on the internet I would suppose that would go for actual castration plus lets not forget it's not always sexual some apparently like objects it's all about power and control

Knew of a local guy married to someone I knew constantly got caught with underage girls constantly broke his bail conditions constantly given 2 years suspended sentence never served any time

I take it the guy will be named at some point. I didn’t think rapists were given annonmity but I can understand why in this case as you could not get an impartial jury. I am just thinking the sick bastard may have done things to other children and other victims or relatives of victims may come forward
