Scrolling through the news and came across this.

https://www.independent.co.uk/news/uk/home-news/annalong-two-week-old-baby-county-down-northern-ireland-hospital-rape-a8570541.html

WTAF!? What the fuck is wrong with people, this is absolutely disgusting how can people do such things?? This breaks my heart so much. Poor innocent helpless babies/children, why, just WHY!

I was watching tv 'this morning' today... a interview came on about a man who had been looking at indecent images. He got a 2 year suspended sentence?? This is indirect ABUSE.. it's still ABUSE whether it's indirect or direct! A suspended sentence is a fucking joke Angry

This kind of crime needs a more severe punishment! Bring back capital punishment for these crimes! There are a lot of monsters in this world Sad

I always find it really strange that sometimes things like this make the news but mostly they don’t- I wonder why?

The reality is, sadly this sort of thing is far from unusual. Take a look at family court judgements and sadly youlll see how frequently it occurs, but never reported in the news.

However, I don’t understand the conflagulating possessing images of child abuse with the penetrative rape of a 2 week old. They are clearly very different crimes with one being far more serious. Of course they’re linked, and you can bet the rapist has thousands of images of child abuse on his computer. But so do hundreds of thousands of men.

mrcharlie · 06/10/2018 11:47

think chemical castration could be helpful to people who are caught with images.

Why clean and clinical??
Just tear them off and stitch up the wound then lock them up for 10yrs.

Pissedoffdotcom · 06/10/2018 11:57

A pp has used the term 'pornography involving children'

It isn't pornography. It is child abuse images. Using the words child pornography detracts imo from how serious it is

PinkSparklyPussyCat · 06/10/2018 12:13

I hope everyone in the prison knows exactly what he's done and treats him accordingly.

I'm fed up with reading articles about abuse. The abuser, and anyone who facilitates the abuse (male or female), should be locked up for life with no special protection.

glintandglide · 06/10/2018 12:18

Facilitating the abuse usually means being too addicted, too abused, or not mentally capable of stopping or recognising it. There really aren’t many woman who rub their hands with glee at the idea of their partner raping their baby.

Isn't it sad the only "justice" these scumbags will get is the beatings in prison when the others find out what the guy is in for?

Seriously...I read things like this, and these men....lust means everything to them, it takes over their minds, they'd do anything to satisfy their fucking erections....evil doesn't come close to describing what these pieces of shit are. In America he'd get mulitple life sentences, here he'll probably get a few years, a playstation, lots of nice vists from his family and mates, and "therapy" to "rehabilitate" him. Whcih of course doesn't work, because I don't care whatyou say, a paedo can never be rehabilitated.

Pissedoffdotcom · 06/10/2018 12:33

I am in agreement. There is absolutely no chance of rehabilitating a paedo. Waste of time, money & energy

lovetherisingsun · 06/10/2018 12:33

I fucking hate these threads. They upset a huge amount of people and just descend into who can come up with the most violent torture for the perpetrator competition. As if that proves you care more or something. I can't imagine anyone close to the baby would appreciate the rubbernecking at all

No, it's about the FUCKING INJUSTICE and rage at not just what he has done, what many of these men do, but the fact his "punishment" will be soft and gentle compared to other countries, compared to what this little baby has gone through, compared to what all child victims of child porn and child abuse images go through. Impotent rage is all we have, because there is no true justice in this country and you know what? We're allowed to be fucking angry about it.

Kjkj16 · 06/10/2018 12:39

From reading another article I gather that chemical castration only works on some. Some of the higher level offenders would still abuse children just in different ways some people think it is incurable.
I don't ever think that the death penalty would ever be brought back not that I agree with this I just honestly don't think it will ever happen.
What does need to happen is enough of the public to be so outraged by the despicable sentences handed down to these vile monsters and kick up so much of a fuss with campaigns etc that government have to listen and the relevant people have to look at the laws/sentencing guide lines in place to ensure this kind of crime is dealt with the abhorrence it deserves.
2 year suspended sentences are not much of a deterent to these sick people.
If there is not enough room in the prisons for them release or reduce sentences for people that have been locked up for not paying council tax as someone has previously mentioned or someone that refused to pay the council for taking their kids on holidays in term time. There are so many lesser crimes where hefty sentences are handed out willy nilly but for some reason this is not treated in the same way.

Blackoutblinds · 06/10/2018 12:40

People need to be very careful. There are some posts on this thread that discuss details that have not been released in to the public domain.

They probably need to be deleted. The last thing anyone should want is to jeopardise the chance of a fair trial and justice for the baby concerned.

Please be mindful of what you post.

glintandglide · 06/10/2018 12:40

I find your standpoint quite confusing tbh loveistherisingsun - how do you know what punishment he’ll get? How would you know what the usual punishment for baby rapists is?

AlmaWhittaker · 06/10/2018 12:43

What so annoys me about these stories and discussion about them is that no abusers or rapists are reading. We're all wringing our hands but they don't know and don't care how despicable others think it is. I used to think that someone with evil intentions might see the error of their ways, but they wouldn't even open a thread like this.

AlmaWhittaker · 06/10/2018 12:48

'Facilitating the abuse usually means being too addicted, too abused, or not mentally capable of stopping or recognising it.'

...or just want to stick their heads in the sand.

glintandglide · 06/10/2018 12:50

No. It’s not usual for a woman to stick their head in the sand whilst their baby is being raped because they can’t be bothered to deal with it. It just makes you feel better to think the situation is easy to understand

Soubriquet · 06/10/2018 12:56

Death is too kind for a monster like this

and it kills me that his identity has to be hidden for the babies protection.

He should be named, shamed and hunted down like the scum he is

Pissedoffdotcom · 06/10/2018 13:00

Chemical castration can also be reversed. So a bloke could attend for his top up injection (my understanding is it has to be a regular thing, sort of like the depo injection for women, otherwise it becomes ineffective), then buy a chemical online that counters it. Granted this is only what i've heard of happening in the US so it may be different in other places. But the thought that it could be countered is enough to make me think what's the point?

I don't get why people come on threads like this to get cross with those commenting on it? People are allowed to be angry. Nothing we say - even directly to some pervert - is going to change their view because they don't give a shit about anything except their own self gratification. That doesn't mean that people can't react to it & discuss what changes we would like to see & also how fucking stupid the laws are.

Queenofthedrivensnow · 06/10/2018 13:04

Reminds me of the Ian Watkins case

Allegorical · 06/10/2018 13:05

I really think paedophiles should be laptop away from society till their death. They don’t change. They always reoffend. Surely the cost of dealing with the aftermath when it. Happens again outweighs the cost of keeping them in prison.

Easilyflattered · 06/10/2018 13:06

According to Sky he's being held in Maghaberry.

"Just five months ago Maghaberry Prison was damned as the most dangerous prison ever inspected by Her Majesty’s Chief Inspector of Prisons in England and Wales."

Rape and death threats quite common apparently.

Soubriquet · 06/10/2018 13:09

And yes please be careful what you put

As far as I know, the babies sex and the relation of the male has not been released. To post about it here, could potentially taint the case in court

Lalala2018 · 06/10/2018 13:16

How is it just that if that childs mother retaliated, she would be the one sent to prison for life. That poor innocent baby. There are some sick people in this world.

havingabadhairday · 06/10/2018 13:20

I wouldn't be in favour of bringing back the death penalty. Plenty of reasons for that, but one is that if you make anything other than murder a capital offense you are basically encouraging paedophiles etc. in some circumstances to murder their victims to reduce the chance of getting caught.

Castration is also not necessarily an effective way of eliminating the risk of reoffending.

I don't know what the answers are. I believe there are befriending schemes that have been effective at significantly reducing reoffending, but these are seemingly not popular with the general population who sometimes appear more interested in visible punishments rather than things that actually work.

MakeMineATwin2 · 06/10/2018 13:25

I'm horrified and sickened by this. The monster who did this cannot be classed as a human being!

When stories like this come about I often wonder if I'm living in hell!

glintandglide · 06/10/2018 13:25

There are no answers. There is no way to eradicate paedophilia , at this time anyway. It’s something vile that exists in our lifetimes, like violence and murder and war and terrorism. It’s been around longer than we have
