Acting competitively as if we are in competition rather than friends Confused including trying to chat up my boyfriend and so on.

Flaky people who cancel at the last minute all the time etc.

Fightthebear · 03/10/2018 19:08

Being too needy, I find it overwhelming.

firstworldproblems2018 · 03/10/2018 19:12

Anyone who has committed a serious crime, especially anything to do with children. People who are racist, or worse, pretend not to be as in ‘I’m not racist but don’t you think that...’

People who are fairweather friends or those who talk to you but the minute someone ‘better’ comes along you don’t exist...

People who drink and drive. There is ZERO excuse.

Whocansay · 03/10/2018 19:13

Anyone who clicks their fingers at waiting staff. It's the international sign of being a cunt.

IthinkIsawahairbrushbackthere · 03/10/2018 19:14

Dishonesty
Cruelty (people/animals)
Racism
Intolerance

RangeRider · 03/10/2018 19:15

I might refuse to be friends with someone who called me 'hun' Grin

LittleMissedTheSunshine · 03/10/2018 19:17

I think most issues or arguments can be sorted out with a frank, honest chat in the cold light of day when both sides are willing to listen to the other... most of my friendship dealbreakers have been when people have been unwilling to do that. So I'm wrong and they're right and they don't even want to talk about it for the fear of realising that actually maybe they haven't been perfect in the situation.

Humility... it goes a long way.

northlaine · 03/10/2018 19:18

You'd ditch someone because of how they voted? Even if you liked them in every other respect?Confused

Aprilislonggone · 03/10/2018 19:23

Can't be friends with those who :
Have ddogs who basically live in their crates.
Are happy to have adult conversations in front of dc.
Plead poverty then flash their new car to me.
Let their exes continue to control their life. Mock /look down on my views on animal cruelty /having dc vegi.

BolleauxtoBankers · 03/10/2018 19:24

Brexit.

Lellikelly26 · 03/10/2018 19:26

Ending a friendship over someone voting Tory is incredibly intolerant.

DishranawaywiththeSpoon · 03/10/2018 19:28

Mine are just generally bigoted things like. racism, homophobia, sexism

People who lie
People who are attention seekers
Social climbers
Narcissistic people, who only tall about themselves
Persistent lateness or flakiness
General lack of empathy for humans or animals

I would probably also not be friends with someone who didn't like me because I didn't like their dog Hmm

With regards to political views, I would absolutely be friends with someone who voted Tory or a different political belief to me but if that came with a lack of empathy for others, or the poor, or immigrants type thing then I wouldn't want to be friends with them. But that's not who they vote for it's more who they are as a person.

I think there's a difference though between being friends and being socially polite. I wouldn't develop a strong friendship with someone for many many reasons, I think I'm fussy with my friends but that's important because why would I want to waste my life spending time with people who I don't like? I will talk to them and be friendly but I wouldn't say there's many people I would be close with. Generally as long as someone is kind and not selfish I will want to be friends with them though.

MissusGeneHunt · 03/10/2018 19:29

Drama
Attention Seeking
Not understanding or being judgemental of Mental Health
Racists
Trump supporters
People who try to shove their political/ religious beliefs in your face
Lazy people at work
Parents who judge other parents

So exactly what @slapmyfaceandcallmemary said.

And people who say suicide is selfish.

EK36 · 03/10/2018 19:30

People who:-
Exaggerate the truth constantly
Let you down
Late for everything

Sitranced · 03/10/2018 19:31

I couldn't be friends with someone who is narrow-minded enough to not be friends with someone who votes tory.

Jlynhope · 03/10/2018 19:32

I ended a friendship because my friend was involved with a married man. This had gone on for years when she finally told me. The way she spoke about his wife and kids was shocking and I couldn't get past it.

seanna · 03/10/2018 19:33

My best friend dumped me because I cheated on my exH with a MM. She ghosted me pretty much. I wouldn't do that to a "best friend".

PiperPublickOccurrences · 03/10/2018 19:34

Lateness
Being self-obsessed and only talking about themselves
Criminality

Also used to be friends with someone who decided she was re-training as a homeopath. The friendship was on its way out anyway but I wouldn't have been able to keep my mouth shut about her sugar pills and water.

BolleauxtoBankers · 03/10/2018 19:34

I've just realised why I have no friends. I am constitutionally, though very apologetically, late for everything. Except, on occasion, job interviews. Sad (I'm not proud.)

LifeInPlastic · 03/10/2018 19:36

Racists, bigots, liars. narcissists.

NotSureThisIsWhatIWant · 03/10/2018 19:36

Brexirers, Daily Mail readers, Trump supporters, snobs and any SAHM who smugly calls herself a “full time mum”

MulticolourMophead · 03/10/2018 19:36

Asking to split a bill according to what they ate and drank

And I hate people who say "we'll split the bill, yeah?" then go on and order expensive stuff expecting everyone else to subsidise them. I've fallen victim to that more than once, and in circumstances when they had plenty of money and I was skint.

BolleauxtoBankers · 03/10/2018 19:36

Or else I'm simply a horrible person whom nobody likes because I'm obnoxious. I prefer to believe it's because I'm always late. Sad

AnnabelleLecter · 03/10/2018 19:37

Cruelty to animals
Aggressive
Boring/moany
Over opinionated
Druggie/alcoholic
Too quiet
