Been at work all day and OH has been home.
I usually cook but he asked if I wanted a jacket spud. To which I replied "yes please."

He shouts in..
Do you want mayo? Yes
Do you want cheese? Yes

5 minutes later he handed it to me.
Jacket spud with a tin of tuna slapped on top, and I mean straight from the tin, still the shape of the tin. A few sprinklings of cheese on top and mayo squirted on top. The worst bit is there was no butter on my spud at all!

I was speechless!
He doesn't cook so didn't want to hurt his feelings, but surely this form of spud is a known abomination Grin

@Pissedoffdotcom - it tasted off. Not the rich great taste of pesto you expect as the oil enhances the flavour. Yuck.
He was very insulted. But sorry, I am not putting pesto made with water into my mouth. Ever.

Yes, but what is Toast Hawaii?

I googled it. Fucking disgusting, is what it is! Envy (Not envy).

Is this acceptable or should I do time for murder?
SquitMcJit · 04/10/2018 15:39

Thanks @Eliza9917. That 70s cherry on the top Grin

Eliza9917 · 04/10/2018 15:42

I like those cherries, but in drinks, not on pizza-toast.

Who on earth would think of this lololol.

anothermnname · 04/10/2018 15:51

It depends... as long as the potato was cooked through and not hard I think I would let him get away with it! (Can't stand jacket potatoes that are still a little hard in places )🤢

From Wikipedia, so it must be true. I like the idea of Clemens demonstrating it on telly.

Toast Hawaii
Type Open sandwich
Place of origin Germany
Main ingredients Toast, ham, pineapple, maraschino cherry, cheese

Toast Hawaii is an open sandwich consisting of a slice of toast with ham and cheese, and a maraschino cherry in the middle of a pineapple, broiled, so that the cheese starts to melt. It was invented, or at least made popular, by the German TV cook Clemens Wilmenrod and is considered typical of West Germany in the 1950s.

I would be delighted if my dh made me this, getting a cup of tea from him is a rarity (I work part time so handle household responsibilities and have a cleaner so can't complain). Some people just can't cook

PhilomenaButterfly · 04/10/2018 19:50

I really don't ever want Toast Hawaii.

smellingofroses · 04/10/2018 20:05

Oh my days. Haven't been on MN long but @Busyworkingbee I have noticed that 70% of people on here have no sense of humour and will use any post no matter the topic to be negative, rude, miserable and totally over react at was clearly meant as a lighthearted thread.
These people are what I refer to in life as mood hovers and could suck the joy out of any situation in 2 seconds !
They can not read a post decide it's not for them and move, they insist on spreading negativity all around regardless of yours or any one else's feelings.
My advice @Busyworkingbee ignore these people and just be glad you don't live with them ! 🙄

Busyworkingbee · 04/10/2018 20:12

Oh my days! I feel a bit sick looking at that. Happy with my jacket spud now 😷

@smellingofroses thats really good advice! Yes I have noticed that too! I completely understand when it comes to serious topics. Or when a man is being a complete bell end and degrading women ECT ECT and vice versa. But this really isn't one of those thread. He honestly just has 0 clue how to cook!
