There must be someone out there so has heard of it or has been?
It's a new attraction in Brentwood Essex, a 4D horror experience.
There is a room 13 thay apparently.is so scary that they don't believe anyone could stand it and therr is a 2 page waiver to sign before entering.

Anyone know what happens in room 13 ?

It looks amazing. Shame it's so far away.

IamPickleRick · 19/09/2018 19:31

It’s probably just an escape room with actors. My husband LARPS and writes his own games, he and his friends would probably laugh at this. Or go in costume to scare them back Grin I’d book tickets but they are £38 Shock

Lavender081517 · 19/09/2018 20:26

We are going but I'm just wondering how bad room 13 is haha
Is it publicly and a gimmick?
The waiver says physical and mental torture??? Wtf

Sounds like a place in america(?) I saw on the Netflix show ‘dark tourists’. Guy had set up an experience where he physically and mentally tortured people to see if they could last to the end then they’d get a prize. Don’t think anyone has lasted yet. They had to all sign a waiver as well and he had to notify local police he when he ran it in case of screaming... Hmm doesn’t sound like my idea of fun but each to their own! Maybe the Brentwood thing is something like that?

Lavender081517 · 20/09/2018 09:49

wine I saw that on Netflix I'm going to go watch that now thankyou

Ooo

Sounds like the old 'Terror' on church street.

MissusGeneHunt · 20/09/2018 10:03

No co-incidence that it's right near the old Mental Health hospital in Warley....! I believe the actual hospital is now apartments (it closed completely in 2011) but it's a good place for it, properly spooky to say the least... (believe me, I know!).

Far too scary for me, but I know a friend who would be in to this, and I'll look forward to her telling me the tales of it.

WinifredTheWhizzpopper · 20/09/2018 10:06

Oh I’m intrigued, (but wouldn’t last five seconds in there - London dungeons made me feel ill and children go in there ).

WinifredTheWhizzpopper · 20/09/2018 10:07

genehunt

Dispatch your friend posthaste and report back please Grin!

Not my cup of tea but I did find this review (some spoilers)

WinifredTheWhizzpopper · 20/09/2018 10:37

Yikes!

MintySweets · 20/09/2018 10:41

Fucking hell

GiBlues · 20/09/2018 11:32

Yeah fuck that shit.

(Although looking at the videos on their FB page it looks like it all been done extremely well)

CocktailQueenie · 20/09/2018 12:19

Really wish I was brave enough as desperate to know what happens in Room 13! Surely it can't actually be properly dangerous? If anyone knows, please, please share!

SinkGirl · 20/09/2018 12:22

Humans are so weird sometimes.

I can’t imagine paying someone £38 to traumatise me. No bloody way.

NicoAndTheNiners · 20/09/2018 12:25

I’m nowhere near Brentwood but am intrigued by room 13. When are you going Lavender? You must come back and tell us about room 13. Surely it can’t be that bad? You just tell yourself it’s all a game the whole way through, they can’t actuallu hurt you!

TerfsUp · 20/09/2018 12:25

No way am I paying £38 to have someone swear at me. I can have that for free in my old neighbourhood.

Dorkdiary · 20/09/2018 12:27

Physical and mental torture. I'm a bit wtf. Is that even legal even if you consent ?

We had free tickets for the dungeons through work and didn't go so this definitely isn't for me. 😂

SinkGirl · 20/09/2018 12:49

Okay I’ve just read several reviews and can’t figure out whether they’re just in on the PR push or not when it comes to the 13th room.

One review is really critical of it, saying they can’t endorse it and it’s basically torture porn and awful. Apparently you sign away any rights, they can do whatever they want. I don’t know why anyone would do this.

SinkGirl · 20/09/2018 12:49

I do wonder how enforceable that waiver is if someone ends up seriously hurt or dead.

MeAgainSparkle · 20/09/2018 12:52

It's near me but no way would I ever go to it! I got the 'woo' doing a Jack the Ripper walking tour of London

brokenharbour · 20/09/2018 13:02

Why on earth would anyone pay for that shit! No chance!

WinifredTheWhizzpopper · 20/09/2018 13:06

People are very weird. But then, it used to be normal to go and watch real hangings, with extra big crowds for the gorier executions (ffs).

People still burn effigies in this country every bonfire night to ‘celebrate’ the foiling of the gunpowder plot and the horrible execution of the main conspirator. This is considered naice; naicer than that “ghastly modern American import” Halloween, (except that it isn’t modern nor is it an American import). But, I digress.

So, people enjoying this really doesn’t surprise me.

Dorkdiary · 20/09/2018 13:09

I can't see the waiver being legally enforceable if something illegal happens which results in the death or serious injury of a person.

I also think that to do the 'torture' in room 13 in which you are on your own you have to be a certain kind of person and I worry about what kind of people they will attract. I would imagine it would be very easy for this to go too far...

beelover · 20/09/2018 13:17

This is near me too but just reading that review has freaked me out. Why would anyone want to put themselves through any of that Shock
