Just a bit of fun..

I am not on FB, DH is. People we know regularly go out for meals and drinks. They always post their meal with some comment about their evening.

Don't get me wrong - I am not criticising - in fact DH and me find this highly amusing. It gives us a good laugh because we just don't get it. Why would anyone be interested in what you have for dinner lol?

Do you ever post your meal on FB when you are out for food and drinks? Genuinely interested - either that or we have odd friends :) :)

Nope.

I don’t get it either. I assumed at first that these people don’t eat out a lot so find food they didn’t cook impressive! But one cousin does it all the time, even with coffee and cake Hmm

I don't know why!

SausageOnAFork · 16/09/2018 18:55

Only if the meal is amazing or was prepared by a friend and I’m tagging them in it, but then not often.

Subtlecheese · 16/09/2018 18:55

No. I've not seen it on Facebook. I am lead to believe that is what Instagram is for. Even though TripAdvisor is surely the only place anyone else would be remotely interested.

Leeds2 · 16/09/2018 18:57

Never!

sleepismysuperpower1 · 16/09/2018 18:57

no, it gives us a laugh too. why would you interrupt your meal to take a photo of it Hmm Grin

Littlepond · 16/09/2018 18:57

Nope.

MissionItsPossible · 16/09/2018 18:58

No. I’m not on FB either and when I see people taking posts like this or I’m shown FB posts like this m I do wonder why they feel the need.

But it’s not hurting anyone and if so many do them it must be because they have their audience!

QuestionableMouse · 16/09/2018 18:59

Sometimes, if it's something that looks cool. Generally no though.

museumum · 16/09/2018 19:00

I don’t as a matter of course but sometimes on holiday say when I’ve bern served something that makes me go “wow” I’ll take a photo to keep along with the other holiday snaps.

TroysMammy · 16/09/2018 19:00

No but I did send a Whatsapp photo to my Italian friend when I made butternut and parmesan ravioli from scratch which took me a few hours but I was pretty pleased with my efforts.

Iloveacurry · 16/09/2018 19:01

No, it’s just too sad!

Marie0 · 16/09/2018 19:03

ha ha looks like I've got weird friends then

DotForShort · 16/09/2018 19:04

Never. I enjoy seeing other people’s pictures, though. I especially like the odd methods of serving ordinary items: chips in an aquarium or steak on a slate or something.

Marie0 · 16/09/2018 19:04

Troysmammy

yes that is perfectly reasonable as you made it yourself - sounds very tasty :)

OP posts:
Asterado · 16/09/2018 19:05

No.

Makes me feel a bit sick looking at other people’s badly taken meal pictures.

SneakyGremlins · 16/09/2018 19:06

I do! But I send it to my friend on WhatsApp not fb

9amtrain · 16/09/2018 19:08

Generally no, because I know people don't give a shit about what's on my plate.

I don't get people who post their food. Unless it's something special of course, but for an ordinary meal like burger and chips, piss off!

toriatoriatoria · 16/09/2018 19:08

Main meals, no. Fancy desserts or cakes? Yes...but only to Whatsapp to a couple of friends, I wouldn't put it on Facebook.

ektomarie · 16/09/2018 19:09

“in fact DH and me find this highly amusing. It gives us a good laugh because we just don't get it. Why would anyone be interested in what you have for dinner lol?”

But, you just said you find it interesting and are entertained by it. Confused

Upsy1981 · 16/09/2018 19:10

I do, because it looks amazing! I am a very visual eater though and love the look of food as much as the taste and want to share it with others because it looks so delicious.

Lynne1Cat · 16/09/2018 19:11

No, never. I'm too busy eating to mess about taking photos of my food

SusanneLinder · 16/09/2018 19:12

Nope, never post pics of my dinner, unless it is particularly amazing, or its a new recipe that I have made myself.

MissionItsPossible · 16/09/2018 19:17

@Marie0
ha ha looks like I've got weird friends then

You haven’t! You’ve got friends that post pictures of their food on Facebook like loads of other people - for inexplicable reasons - do.

Marie0 · 16/09/2018 19:17

Ekto - yes I am amused and entertained - is that the intention of the poster then? Maybe I am mistaken I thought they just wanted to 'share' what they were eating as they may think others are interested rather than giving us all a laugh :)

OP posts:
9amtrain · 16/09/2018 19:19

@ektomarie amused by how they think anyone gives a shit about what they're having to eat, not interested what they're eating...
