So sick of people trying to talk this country down. Happy to see most people think this is pathetic scaremongering from bitter people that can’t get over that the vote didn’t go their way!

No-one knows what will happen in a no-deal scenario, least of all Brexiters.

'Talking our country down' isn't even a thing. Talking about the realistic knock-on effects of leaving the EU instead of burying our heads in the sand is not 'talking our country down'.

It is not 'sensible' to be optimistic about Brexit, it is brainless.

Justanothernameonthepage · 14/09/2018 05:58

I've been optimistic about winning the lottery for the last 10 years. I still plan to pay my bills and go to work.

honeysucklejasmine · 14/09/2018 06:01

Dominic Raab is a bitter remainer?

bellinisurge · 14/09/2018 06:03

I firmly believe I am overdue s unicorn AND a trampoline. Or that I can wear a lovely pinny (I actually can Grin).
But seriously, I'm all for glass half full and "tomorrow is a lovely day" (one for the Vera Lynn nerds), but a pinch of realism is what we need.
As preppers like me say, 'hope for the best, prepare for the worst'.

LetsGoAyo · 14/09/2018 06:04

If no-one knows what will happen with a no deal scenario then how, can you claim in the same sentence, Brexiters know what will happen less than Remainers?

Good stance to take bellin!

You sound like Trump, OP. People voicing their concerns about the future are not 'talking our country down.' Theresa May has refused to deny that we will be a poorer nation post Brexit.

Next you'll be saying remainers are either with us or against us.

Let's not kid ourselves, Brexit is about anti-immigration. Our economy is going to suffer because of labour shortages (70% of EU migrants are in work, compared to only 58% UK British people) but you will have told the immigrants to sling their hook, so well done for being heartened.

Henrysmycat · 14/09/2018 06:14

If you think it’s all about people “talking you down” and you are positive that Brexit will bring £300-something million a day back like they told us on the bus, I’d be questioning your sanity.
Through, my work, I see the effect already, companies are fleeing to prepare for it, unnecessary headcount are being culled. Nobody waits and see in the corporate world despite the words that come out of their mouths. But it’s ok because blue passports!
But by all means, believe that I’m talking the whole country down.
I’m actually a hated foreigner, and I don’t care one iota and my job would ensure, I’d get an opportunity somewhere else in the world, this is my 5th country I moved to btw, but it’s astounding not to see the effect already and scream scaremongering.

Henrysmycat · 14/09/2018 06:19

OP, you sound like Farage, old and unworldly referencing the war and thinking that keeping 3 tins of beans in your cupboard will save this country.
Anyway, I’m out, we have business to transfer to The Netherlands.
Good luck Britain, your hate and racism proved to be greater than your love for your children.

LetsGoAyo · 14/09/2018 06:23

You sound like Trump, OP.

How? Hmm

(70% of EU migrants are in work, compared to only 58% UK British people)

Stats?

If you think it’s all about people “talking you down” and you are positive that Brexit will bring £300-something million a day back like they told us on the bus, I’d be questioning your sanity.

I’m questioning yours as you are seeing things that aren’t there, when did I mention anything that you just said?

I’m actually a hated foreigner, and I don’t care one iota and my job would ensure, I’d get an opportunity somewhere else in the world, this is my 5th country I moved to btw, but it’s astounding not to see the effect already and scream scaremongering.

You’re not hated by me!! Smile I voted to leave the EU, I don’t dislike people because of where they were born - I don’t care!

I literally did not mention war or rationing. Confused

I’m Donald Trump and Nigel Farage now apparently Confused

Read the article instead as its actually factual.

Urgh you're one of those who uses 'literally' incorrectly. It's not cool. Stop using crutch words and stop using anti-immigration as a crutch for your problems.

bellinisurge · 14/09/2018 06:37

To be fair to the op, @Henrysmycat , the war references they "refer" to are actually quotes from my slightly teasing post. I ended my teasing with "hope for the best, prepare for the worst " which is a prepper mantra (I'm a prepper). The op didn't seem to be against this idea.

StitchingMoss · 14/09/2018 06:41

OP, things are already going horribly wrong because of Brexit - we don’t need to wait until March to see it Sad.

My DB works in the NHS - they are haemorrhaging EU workers and have been since 2016. That will only get worse.

It’s not “talking our country down” to be genuinely worried about the post-EU future.

LetsGoAyo · 14/09/2018 06:42

Urgh you're one of those who uses 'literally' incorrectly.

But I literally didn’t mention what you said I did.

and stop using anti-immigration as a crutch for your problems.

Stop projecting and making things up.

I see the governor of BoE is talking our country down in the news this morning too🤪

Amanduh · 14/09/2018 06:45

OP you should know that on mumsnet you’re not allowed to be pro Brexit or have a different, informed or personal opinion on Brexit and the EU. You are definitely racist, Trump, Nigel Farage, stupid and all people who don’t want a future in the EU are driven by Racism and Hatred. HmmHmm It’s honestly not a topic worth talking about on here!

Havaina · 14/09/2018 06:47

But I literally didn’t mention what you said I did

Except that I didn't make the Farage comparison, Henry did. Comprehension seems to be another weakness.

BeardedMum · 14/09/2018 06:47

I am desperate to come across informed Brexiters Amanduh, they seem far and few between!

LetsGoAyo · 14/09/2018 06:48

Except that I didn't make the Farage comparison, Henry did. Comprehension seems to be another weakness.

I know. You likened me to Donald Trump.

OP posts:
bellinisurge · 14/09/2018 06:49

@Amanduh - I think shaving your pubes is weird and unhealthy and say so on MN when I can be bothered - It isn't the consensus on here. Doesn't stop me thinking or saying it.
Nursing a sense of grievance about it isn't helpful.

Havaina · 14/09/2018 06:49

Stop projecting and making things up.

A projection but an accurate one, I bet. Tell me why Brexiteers always change their usernames before posting a thread, as you have done? Ashamed or covering up your previous posts?
