So sick of people trying to talk this country down. Happy to see most people think this is pathetic scaremongering from bitter people that can’t get over that the vote didn’t go their way!

OP posts:
Umpteenthingsclean · 14/09/2018 11:23

I have no respect for anyone who voted out. They're evil people who wanted to fuck the future of this country and its children for the sake of a blue passport.

bellinisurge · 14/09/2018 11:25

@10degreestostarboard - but the law - the one drafted by a Brit - makes it hard work to Leave. Always been hard. Not likely to get easier after our shit show. Hard to join now too. For a reason.

Frogletmamma · 14/09/2018 11:26

Mission Rather than an active part of Europe... and proud to Remain

LaurieMarlow · 14/09/2018 11:27

Erm, like since the dawn of time? What does this comment even mean

While geographically you understand it, many leavers seem to struggle with it psychologically and politically.

Quietrebel · 14/09/2018 11:29

missionitspossible
So because you don't know what the EU will be like in 20 years you choose guaranteed short to mid term chaos?? Your own point is that no one knows the long term, so how is it best to trash short and mid term prospects? Brilliant logic.

LittleLionMansMummy · 14/09/2018 11:32

6 pages in and still no response on what will be better after we leave. Didn't take long for the 'you nasty, pitchfork brandishing Remoaners' accusation to surface though.

Please, for the love of god someone, anyone, tell me what it is that Leavers think/ know/ predict/ suspect will be better after we leave? There's plenty of evidence to the contrary, but I have yet to see a reasoned explanation from a Quitling.

Quietrebel · 14/09/2018 11:34

Don't look for rationality. There isn't any.

Quietrebel · 14/09/2018 11:37

It is all about foreigners out and destroying the middle class as quickly as possible.
Ruling/upper/ mega rich (however you call them) as always too cushioned to suffer from any negative aftermath.

twofingerstoEverything · 14/09/2018 11:37

Why have critical thinking when you can have a weak Christmas dinner analogy?

Quietrebel · 14/09/2018 11:40

Anyone else surprised at how long this brexit thread has been tolerated in aibu?

SilverySurfer · 14/09/2018 11:41

Good try OP but it's pointless. The Remainers are fixated on doom and gloom - let them get on with their whining about something which hasn't yet taken place. Who knew there were so many Mystic Megs in the country?

RageAgainstTheTagine · 14/09/2018 11:42

Hey! My Christmas lunch analogy was perfect in every way. I almost put a bit about how aunt EU has a toilet brush and makes guests take their shoes off, but I'm not that crazy Wink

Cobblersandhogwash · 14/09/2018 11:43

@Amanduh Grinbut of course you're allowed to be pro Brexit. Don't be ridiculous.

It's just that every single Brexshitter is unable to come up with a single tangible positive emerging from the whole pantomime.

Just because your arguments are shot down by common sense and knowledge doesn't mean you have to stop being pro Brexshit. Just means you're not open to reason.

twofingerstoEverything · 14/09/2018 11:45

I'm sure someone who has just joined the thread will report it very soon.

DioneTheDiabolist · 14/09/2018 11:52

I'm not Mystic Meg, I dicussed this with the management of the global corporation that I am talking about. They will move. Their employees will lose their jobs and HMRC are going to lose money.

I'm not fixated on doom and gloom, I'm worried about the very real cost to my friends, our citizens and the economy. I know that these jobs will go and so I am worried. I have asked for reasons to be heartened by Leave, I haven't received any.

Quietrebel · 14/09/2018 11:58

Yes, i think the hours of this thread in aibu are counted now that silverysurfer aka Holy Brexit Inquisitor has joined...

twofingerstoEverything · 14/09/2018 12:00

It's almost as if Leavers have some sort of vested interest in getting these threads moved away from a 'popular' part of the site, where other people might read them, and shoved into some dark corner. It's almost as if they want to bury the thread because they have no argument. It's almost as if they have nothing better than Christmas dinner analogies.

bellinisurge · 14/09/2018 12:01

Hey, @SilverySurfer . Ain't whining because I'm a prepper. You can whine when your local supermarket doesn't have stuff on the shelves because supermarkets run on Just In Time and we're about to mess with that.
Have you taken the pledge not to stock up?

twofingerstoEverything · 14/09/2018 12:03

Yes, i think the hours of this thread in aibu are counted now that silverysurfer aka Holy Brexit Inquisitor has joined...
Strange how one with so much conviction never actually engages in any meaningful way, such as coming up with some strong leave arguments. She should be talking the country up, shouldn't she?

Quietrebel · 14/09/2018 12:08

Ah but you see twofingers for any inquisitor worth their salt faith doesn't need 'talking up', does it?

Clandestino · 14/09/2018 12:19

I received an email from my insurance company on Thursday that after Brexit my insurance which is currently underwritten by their UK based company will be transferred to their ROI based company.
Personally I find it great that there will be more job opportunities for the ROI based company. Wonder what the consequences will be for the UK based company though ... more jobs?

Togaandsandals · 14/09/2018 12:21

I saw someone argue online that May has made it her mission to carry out Brexit. As a no deal Brexit will do huge damage to our economy people with be relieved and accept the Chequers Deal. Many of us think staying in the EU is by far the best option so should not give up campaigning for that.

jcyclops · 14/09/2018 12:35

It amazes me that all these politicians and experts, whether pro- or anti-Brexit can tell you exactly what is going to happen in 3 years time, when they can't even tell you what will be the situation in 3 months with respect to inflation, exchange rates, unemployment, GDP, interest rates, house prices or anything else.

Anyone making Brexit predictions of this type should make them alongside a promise to donate a year's salary to charity if they are shown to be wrong.

As a starter, if there is a no-deal Brexit then Mark Carney expects house prices to fall by 35%. He should promise to donate £880,000 to charity if they don't fall or if they fall by less than 30%.

DioneTheDiabolist · 14/09/2018 12:48

I don't go on the Brexit forum. Is this thread indicative of the threads there?
