They just are. Have these guys ever done anything wrong? Anything less than brilliant? Righteous searingly articulate rock with feeling. I love them. All of them.

Actually Everything Must Go was a return to how their earlier sound was headed after a bit of an aberration with The Holy Bible. And it was incredible, given what had happened. Can you imagine, coming through that and then the first single you release is A Design For Life, one of the great anthems of the 90s?

I do like The Holy Bible as well but it was an atypical sound for them even at the time.

Agree about The Everlasting btw. There is something very powerful about it. The instrumental break kills me.

Who doesn’t love a band who start one of their biggest hits with “libraries gave us power, then work came and made us free”. Wonderful stuff.

Motorcycle Emptiness is a big favourite of mine, despite the incomprehensible lyrics.

Well Super Furry Animals are the best band ever obvs so YABU but agree the Manics are great. Fantastic live - you always get your money's worth and they don't skimp on the crowd pleasersSmile

I'm old and have seen many bands and I can tell now that Muse are hands down the best band in the world. Their live gigs are amazing!

The Jam were great. I also (heresy) liked The Style Council. Coming up to Promised Land ... Yes I am old. Weller is a bit of a knobber though. And JDB is not.

I'm OK with The Style Council from this distance but I wasn't at the time! I never liked PW himself Confused despite the Jam's catalogue. A Town Called Malice is brilliant. Utterly brilliant.
