To wonder what MN posters are like in real life...

I can’t help but see so many posters put others down to make themselves feel better. I had it harder, I’m better than you blah blah blah.

Are these people actually this vile in real life or is it all a keyboard warrior act?

OP posts:

Actually lipstickhandbagcoffee.. You have had complaints before about your unnecessary garbled gobbledygook. So...they ain't the only ones who think you talk out of your hmmmmf

JacquesHammer · 13/09/2018 18:02

I do not think my posts are bombastic or confusing

They can be. Of course it’s hard to tell on MN whether that’s because of the device you’re posting from but some of your posts are garbled, formatted oddly and don’t make sense.

MarthasGinYard · 13/09/2018 18:03

"I am what I am"

Sing it loud Smile

Crystalcherry · 13/09/2018 18:05

GrinEnvyAngrySmileShockSmileHalo enough emojis?

LipstickHandbagCoffee · 13/09/2018 18:17

Oh yes luffs the emojis, they’re so,umm, deep
Why waste words when there’s an emoji

Crystalcherry · 13/09/2018 18:20

Exactly!! Hooray!! You've lightened up!!! Well done you!! Wooohoooooo!!

LipstickHandbagCoffee · 13/09/2018 18:23

Yay you’re an effervescent cheerleader.Well done you!! Wooohoooooo!!
I’ll no be joining you but you can froth away on your own

DamsonGin · 13/09/2018 18:33

I am in fact a bear in real life. I come on MN to practice the art of conversation without accidentally eating anyone.

Crystalcherry · 13/09/2018 18:33

Me and all the rest dear...me and all the rest...hear hear

LipstickHandbagCoffee · 13/09/2018 18:38

I can’t let this little gem slide Lydia
Any chance you could stick to the topic of the thread lipstick rather than trying to treat it as a debating contest.?
Debate is the point of mn,views expressed and vociferously defended . That’s how it goes. Posters don’t usually acquiesce to another POV so not to make a fuss. They do debate, and vigorously maintain a stance. Women are allowed to debate, and it’s permissible to do so vigorously.

DioneTheDiabolist · 13/09/2018 18:38

I'm pretty much the same here as I am IRL, mostly ok, occasionally a dick and I listen more than I speak. Have almost shoulder length hair, a degree, no tattoos and live in an actual council house.Shock Am intelligent and actively feminist (but not a MN feminist so avoid FWR). Am working class and much poorer than most MNetters. Last night I cooked from scratch. Sausages and mash.Grin

YeTalkShiteHen · 13/09/2018 18:40

The arguments on here about debate, what is actually being debated? Because I’ve gone over and over the thread and for the life of me I haven’t a clue!

YeTalkShiteHen · 13/09/2018 18:41

DioneTheDiabolist I like your posts, and also sausage and mash Grin

LipstickHandbagCoffee · 13/09/2018 18:42

I like the one small chicken feeds 18,makes risotto, soup, sandwiches and bone broth food threads

LipstickHandbagCoffee · 13/09/2018 18:44

Is growing up in a council house a mn good or bad thing?a social marker
I grew up in a scheme
I like bangers & mash

Crystalcherry · 13/09/2018 18:44

It'd have to if thats all you can afford... You'd be surprised what I can do with a chicken!! Grin

Crystalcherry · 13/09/2018 18:46

It's a house and a home. Council or not. I'm not so stuck up to say we were brought up in council housing. Hard working parents back in the day like.

LipstickHandbagCoffee · 13/09/2018 18:48

Usually the elastic chicken threads are a boast as opposed to budgeting
Much like the what did you feed the kids today?oh just venison with shallots and creamy mash...

PawneeParksDept · 13/09/2018 18:49

I find Mumsnet massively diverse. I do often think the Superior Parent ones eg Your child can't sit nicely in a restaurant at 3??! Mine could at 18 months are lying or in denial

I NC with frequency but I have built up a mental image of names I've come to recognise based on their posts

In some cases this is complimentary, others not so much Grin

I think no one is as OPENLY judgy IRL as they can be on here for obvious reasons

Crystalcherry · 13/09/2018 18:50

Okaaaaaayyyy Hmm

Crystalcherry · 13/09/2018 18:51

Please!! Tell me what my name says about me then!!! This is fun....

PlantsArePeopleToo · 13/09/2018 18:52

I think I am a lot more opinionated and gobby on here than I am in real life.

In real life I'm as a timid as a mouse Blush

stopfuckingshoutingatme · 13/09/2018 18:54

As in RL I tend to notice the nicer people now

I used to think ‘whoa’ but I now ignore them
And see the niceness more !

LipstickHandbagCoffee · 13/09/2018 18:55

The great joy of mn is the diverse range of opinions, the frankness, and no you rarely get it in RL
Problematic is that in absence of other social cue and nuances words can look stark or be misinterpreted

Changedforpost · 13/09/2018 18:55

Medium length red hair, tattoos , nose piercing mum of 3. Full time carer for youngest. I'm a bit of a gobshite in real life as I can be on here ,but always prepared to help anyone if I can and offer a friendly shoulder to cry on if needed . Don't understand why some people turn into keyboard warriors....They usually turn out to be the ones who don't have a voice in real life,or at least the balls to be heard . Shame really
