Who are these people and why are they hating on us? Can't they cancel the cheque already?

Absolutely knick

I had to really think twice about a post the other day and all i was saying was that people on the thread were not interested in.....

But i couldn't type it as it woukd be twisted

And there have been posts by people who believe the TWAW and they have been taken out of context as well

I would hazard that it is because you have suggested that there will be people for whom the broad (stonewall-defined) label of trans applies - namely the AGPs and fetishists. And those people will use the "coverage" of that label for less than innocent purposes.

But as the TRA approved narrative goes, this simply does not happen.

So because you disagree, you are transphobic.

...is probably my guess.

Puzzledandpissedoff · 14/09/2018 13:50

Have your daughter and her friends actually read what is said on the boards here? Engaged with it? Put forward a coherent argument as to why they disagree which they are able to back up when countered?

Some have read but I don't think they would want to waste their time engaging

Sounds to me like the classic response when someone's got little of substance to say, but hopes that "Waaahh ... ISM!!!" will be enough to garner support anyway

Do I really have to censor and check and examine every word I use in order to stop some random on the internet leaping to conclusions and accusing me of things I haven't said, done or even thought?

I think you know the answer to that for this topic.

Haven't read the whole thread but the suggestion that teenagers come on here to read stuff mums write and get depressed because of it is laughable.

Utter made up nonsense by a plopper.

TRAs hate mumsnet because we are intelligent articulate women fighting back against a Men's rights attempt to infiltrate women's spaces.

We see them and are not fooled.

Knicknackpaddyflak · 14/09/2018 15:11

Bloom I hope it wasn't my quoting of your post that concerns you, since it is perfectly true. I quoted the part of it that Dragons quoted and criticised, as I fail to believe that Dragons is unaware that there are real, current incidents of predators using the freedoms being requested into women's spaces, and would like Dragons to either acknowledge they didn't know this, or to openly admit that they are ok with women and children being preyed on as an acceptable side effect of self ID and think this is a price worth paying.

There's been a steady flow of prominent transgender people being exposed as sexual deviants over the past few months.

There's NUS LGBT officer, Jess Bradley, literally exposed as a flasher. Photos on a blog of Jess's penis out in various venues including a bus stop and Jess's NUS office. The blog also contained written and drawn pornography featuring underage boys.

There's Karen White, convicted rapist and paedophile, who sexually assaulted four women after Karen was put in their prison. Karen's rapes took place in locations where the victims were trapped: bail hostels and locked psychiatric wards. Getting access to women in prison must've been a wet dream.

There's Alex Sharpe, a law professor at Keele University, who writes that we need to "challenge the idea that sexual autonomy is an absolute' - and yes, that is what it sounds like - a justification for rape. Because trans people have it so much worse or some such revolting misogyny.

There's Aimee Challenor, LGBT officer for the Green Party, who used their dad as their election agent despite him being on bail for the most appalling offences

In post Aimee worked tirelessly to remove safeguarding, a very concerning preoccupation given their family background. Aimee, with siblings, had been taken into care at one point, Aimee's dad had been convicted of cruelty to animals and is now a convicted paedophile.

It then came out that Aimee has both adult baby and furry kinks. This would have been political death for anyone else. Being transgender appears to make you bulletproof. Eventually, though, the Greens announced an investigation. Aimee promptly resigned.

David Challenor raped and tortured a 10 y.o in the attic of the two up two down he shared with Aimee and his wife. While committing these offences David Challenor dressed in an adult size little girl dress and referred to himself as a 6 y.o called Lucy. This feature must've have added significantly to the horror of the attack. David Challenor uses he him pronouns. I'm not misgendering him. He got 22 years.

That's the ones I can remember off the top of my head. There are more.

Prawnofthepatriarchy · 14/09/2018 15:27

That doesn't mean there are far more trans people who are lovely in every way. Far more. But I struggle to think of any group of women where you could find such a number of clearly very dodgy individuals.

The old school transsexuals dislike this as much as women do. They have spent decades differentiating themselves from cross dressers and fetishists. Now these men who say they identify as women, but don't behave like us in any way, are trampling all over their quiet, respectful lives.
