To still be annoyed that Hermione married Ron?

I know, the last book came out years ago, but I’m re-reading them now with DS and it’s got me annoyed all over again. He’s a mediocre, sulky man-child, while she’s a brilliantly talented witch. Why would she ever marry him?!

I always thought she would end up with either Fred or George.

They seemed to admire her for her intelligence, and even though on the surface they were class clown types they were actually very hard working, clever and ambitious, setting up their own successful company selling their own inventions. I think their work ethic and the fact that they were good, brave people would have appealed to Hermione, and their sense of humour would have been a good balance to her studiousness.

Not as annoyed as I am that Luna and Neville never ended up together.

I never thought it was unrealistic they would get married. But I thought it was unrealistic they never got swiftly divorced.

I am sure she still sends the occasional owl to victor Krum. Reminiscing about the old days at the tri-wizard ball. Oh hermoine , you could of been a quidditch WAG

I’m surprised how many people like Ron! He was my least-favourite character because he was just so annoying. Always sulking or moaning or being cruel to someone. Not nice, loyal, steady or dependable and really a bit dim. Who would want to marry the guy who copied your homework for 6 years?

It won't last.
She's 'settled' because he's a safe replacement for her lost family. She thinks he'll never leave her. She doesn't love him but thinks he loves her so much that it'll be enough.
Eventually he'll come to sense this gap but not be able to articulate it even to himself. Because at heart he's an inadequate entitled man child with a 'not good enough' schema, he'll cheat on her with some younger dumb ass witch from Hufflepuff who'll think he's chocolate and massage his ego.
Hermione will get over it, dust herself off and stride into her magnificent future.

Hermione said she’d find her parents and reverse the memory charm if they got rid of Voldemort, so I’m sure they’re around. Probably disappointed in their daughter’s choice of husband

Completely disagree, Hermione throughout the books was a star, she would never have thrived in a relationship with a Harry or a Krum where her intellectual goals would have to compete with their sport/adventurous ones.

100% Ron will be the main care giver in their family allowing her to pursue her career. Nothing wrong with that.

I was fuming with JK for saying she regrets their future.

RedDwarves I always like to think that Neville and Luna did get together. I know she's not mentioned in the 19 years later bit, but I still imagine that she's married to Neville and living with him at Hogwarts when she's not off observing snorkacks etc in the wild as research for the books and articles she writes.

And witches Awrite! And unicorns, dragons, centaurs, lovely massive dogs.... So over invested!!

17 is a man in the wizarding world! And whatever the word is for someone who expects everything to be done for him and complains but doesn’t come up with his own ideas.

I’m ready to be impressed with his secret brilliance though. Yes, he’s good at chess. So is my 8yo DS.

I have actually ended up marrying the guy who copied my homework for six years.... I always say I should have double the number of GCSEs on my CV because I did all his work as well as my own

Ron is loyal and has a lovely family. Not sure that would be enough for someone like Hermione long term though.

But I agree the last chapter was not the best. where are all the young wild post Hogwarts/war years stories; like Deans family throwing him a muggle 18th birthday, cue drunk wizards apperating into clubs and trying to pay for kebabs with gold...

Ron became an auror though. Not really a SAHP role. I imagine Molly Weasley doing a lot of childcare.
