Below is a excerpt from Woodward’s new book. I think it’s just too bizarre to be a figment of his imagination; yet to think it is real is frightening. Averting nuclear war with distraction techniques such as used with children? Is this real life? Do take the time to click on the image and read.

Thanks, Claws. Smile

I trust that Mattis has read up on his Schlesinger (and his actions in the last days of the Nixon presidency?)

SheGotBetteDavisEyes · 05/09/2018 01:22

The last thread flew past...thanks Claws

Thread 94!

How time doesn't fly when you're waiting for an impeachment!

TheClaws · 05/09/2018 03:46

Just to clarify: I don’t know if it is actually thread 94. It just feels like it! I’ll have to do a thread count and report back to you Smile

That 'nose' story is not a real excerpt from the book.
Apologies if I missed the joke but I thought it was worth pointing out.

TheClaws · 05/09/2018 04:33

Ah, darn. Got that from a reasonable source too. Blush Thing is, it sounds as if it [could] be real, and that stops you in your tracks for a bit. Thanks Eponymous.

As for a thread count, we are at at least 145. Star Star

  1. What an incredible achievement, everyone. It isn’t easy on the mind keeping up the Trump fight. It is worth remembering that every little bit we do makes a difference when someone else reads it. Perhaps that person recommends her friend reads it, too, and from there it snowballs. Getting to 145 makes it worthwhile - as would seeing Trump go as POTUS, of course!

However, I’m going to sit down and do a scientific count. I’ve only done a very basic search at the mo. Stay tuned.

Thanks Claws. I listed all the threads since Jan 17 when it became a continuous discussion a couple of threads ago. This is thread 82 by my list.

There were threads on Trump before but they were single topic pieces, with the exception of the claig threads. I've started listing the main ones and I'll publish that list.

Meanwhile, I don't know if this was on the last thread but it makes some important points.

If Bob Woodward is right, the United States and the world face an imminent, dangerous emergency, writes @stcollinson https://cnn.it/2M1fTSS

Thanks Gump. 145 did sound suspiciously high to me - I thought it might contain some ring-ins that I hadn’t had time to sift out. At least 82 is closer to my original 94 estimate! (And mind-boggling to boot.)

I notice that Ms.Twitchy Hairfiddler Whitepower and Mr Angry we're moved out of line of sight for Kav's statement. Condi Rice was a good choice as a replacement backdrop. She has had loads of practice getting her body language under control.
