AIBU to be a bit disappointed?
I am really happy to be have my 5th child but i feel a little disappointed as i was so convinced i was having a girl this time around. I think it's partly because it's not what I was expecting but I can't help but want a little girl sometimes with all these boys

Oh, I've only just seen this is a zombie thread! Still relevant for anyone else who is reading! Hope it all went well for OP.

YANBU. My aunt had 3 boys then had another. She was happy with either gender but was hoping for a girl as it was going to be her last chance to have one. She cried in the car after a scan when she found out he was a boy. Got used to it though and obviously wouldn't change him for the world now, loves her boys.

Well you had 4 boys surely common sense told you this one was probably going to be a boy too.....

Are some people more likely to produce girls than boys or is it purely luck?

bee222 I was also 38 and had had multiple miscarriages - that still didn't stop me from wanting to have a girl over a boy. When I finally had a successful pregnancy I spent the whole 9 months convincing myself it was a boy even though I wanted a girl. In fact, I did have a girl and as she's my one-and-only (more MCs) I'm very glad I did.

I wish you the best of luck Flowers

YANBU but you will get slated on here.

"Bumpology" looked at conception and sex (as in M/F sex). Apparently, women in general are more likely to have girls as they get older--but the exception is women who have already had two sons. For them, the odds of having a boy go up with each pregnancy. It's as though once your body has gone down a path of having boys, it has a tendency to keep going that way. The human body is an odd thing.

I’d be gutted. My mum was the youngest of seven girls. My gran wouldn’t even look at her when she was born she was so disappointed. In later life she said she was the best thing that ever happened to her. I completely get it, OP.
