TWIN1 is called: Roseanne

No lies.

I worked with a woman once called Love who had a twin Amore.

WhoseLineIsItAnyway · 01/09/2018 23:31

Agree with PP regarding hospital records. I once spent many hours picking apart merged medical files of twins with the exact same name except one had an i at the end (think Sam and Sami). Each had a fairly extensive but very different medical history (ex prem) and mum couldn't see how there was a problem!

SE13Mummy · 01/09/2018 23:35

I've taught a few sets of twins with matchy names e.g. the only difference is the final syllable so Joanne/Joanna or Ruby/Reuben. I've also taught families where every child has the same first initial and those with unusual combinations e.g Precious, Beauty and Jessica. Matchy names aren't really my thing but it's something I notice as I find names interesting and love hearing about the reasons behind the choices.

ZolaGreySheperd · 01/09/2018 23:46

My half sister almost has my exact name - think Nora/Cora or Addison/Maddison type thing. 17 years later I am still furious. Angry

manicmij · 02/09/2018 00:39

I certainly do have twins and a daughter 2 and a half years older. I think I can without doubt know what it is like, 3 children under 3 years with no family remotely near and DH who works away at other people's whim. My comment about being lazy refers to not bothering to think about NOT dressing twins the same as they are individuals even though as mine do, look alike.

GreenTulips · 02/09/2018 01:04

I bring mine up individually but they will choose to wear the same dress

Mine wouldn't own the same dress (one preferred leggings one preferred jeans or dresses)

So yes lazy to buy the same

PhilomenaButterfly · 02/09/2018 05:30

Or, you let them choose their own clothes when shopping? I've always let my DC choose their own clothes. What if they wanted the exact same dress?

Torple · 02/09/2018 05:38

In DD’s year there’s a Mia and a Maia. It’s two-form entry, only one is in DDs class. I genuinely didn’t even click there were two of them for about a month.
Most twins I know have very different personalities and it’s a shame to be lumped in as one half of a whole from birth.

ButtonMirror · 02/09/2018 06:42

Complete opposite but i used to be a classroom assistant. One year we had two children who had same surname and very similar first names think Reuben and Ruby Smith. For some reason they both wore grey jumpers whereas rest of class wore red.

They always went to before and after school clubs so I never saw the parents.

I assumed they were twins. The teacher thought they were twins.

It was only when one gave out birthday invites and the other didn't we realised they weren't twins. Or related at all!

TakeOffYourJudgyPants · 02/09/2018 06:52

I have twins, I'm on numerous twin groups online. Having twins certainly brings out the crazy in some people's naming choices! Mine don't have matcha names

MadameGerbil · 02/09/2018 07:12

Romulus & Remus!😅

Fredkites · 02/09/2018 07:33

Sibling names aren't a set, but they have to go with each other to some extent?? The children are separate people but it would be weird to have a Sebastian, Hugh, Lancelot and then Jaden?

Chocolatecake12 · 02/09/2018 07:36

I knew twins called Andrew and Andre

Somanymistakes · 02/09/2018 10:21

@Fredkites
If I'm honest I'd think the 4th child had a different father.

Surely what people mean when they ask about sibling name sets is "what names will I like if these were my favourite children's names"

Jimdandy · 02/09/2018 10:33

I confess if I ever had girl and boy twins they would have been Violet and Vincent

m0therofdragons · 02/09/2018 10:36

@GreenTulips I let mine choose their clothes. Actually dtd1 often chooses the same as her older sister. I just think people should chill out. If dc are clothed then all is good.

LittleCandle · 02/09/2018 10:38

When I was a student teacher, there was a family in the school who all basically had the same name. There was Michael, Michelle, Michaela, and Mickey. None of the kids seemed to realise. It was in a very poor area and this was an especially poor family.

VinoBlancoPorFavor · 02/09/2018 12:21

Sarah and Sarai
Also in a different school year: Sarah and Sara

Why?!

ButtonMirror · 02/09/2018 12:39

@LittleCandle

What does poverty have to do with names??

FuckyDuzz · 02/09/2018 13:09

PurplePenguins I actually love that, wish I’d thought of it!

Toddlerteaplease · 02/09/2018 13:19

@Cindie943811A Shadrach, Mesach and Abendigo. Were three brothers who were thrown into a furnace on the order of King Nebuchadnezzar, in the book of Daniel.

Toddlerteaplease · 02/09/2018 13:22

I've also met twins called Ronnie and Reggie. As well as a child called Kray.

3luckystars · 02/09/2018 14:18

I knew a guy and his first name and middle name were the same name.
So like ‘Mikey Michael Murphy’ I was issuing him something official so that was his real name.

His parents actually gave him the same first and middle name?

Cindie943811A · 02/09/2018 14:20

@Purplepenguins
I went to school with a Jan Alice Newland who liked pointing out to us that her initials spelled out her first name. I think it might have been a happy accident because Alice was her grandmother’s name.

BikeRunSki · 02/09/2018 16:46

I knew a Samuel whose middle initials were AM, so he was Sam Surname and SAM Surname.
