" William and Liam which are very similar.*
in fact they are the same name. A bit like calling your sons John and Sean.

Kyyria · 01/09/2018 17:03

I've known of twin girls who were Elizabeth and Elisabeth, both with the same (but differently spelt) middle names.Hmm

Kyyria · 01/09/2018 17:06

@SavageBeauty73 "I met a Ronnie and Reggie at a twins playgroup. They looked cute but why????"

I have also seen twins called Ronnie and Reggie Grin

ItsTheGloaming · 01/09/2018 17:10

My DS has a set of boy/girl twins in his class called Evan and Elle!
Not sure if the parents realise how much they sound like Heaven and Hell.

Hungryagain · 01/09/2018 17:26

My sisters used to go to school with twin boys & their surname was Peake, my mum used to call them Twin Peakes

Cheerymom · 01/09/2018 17:29

As a teacher you see it all. Harmony and Melody. Blessed and Truly. Prince and King. My personal favourite, Nirvana and Utopia. All sets of siblings.

Indie139 · 01/09/2018 17:31

I know twins who have rhyming names (wont say actual names as they're unusual but think eg Gina and Nina) she also dresses them exactly the same which i personally dont like for twins but each to their own

Winenot78 · 01/09/2018 17:32

I have a brother and a sister and our names all begin with A; it's a running joke that my Dad never got any further than A in the baby name book!

I also once knew someone called Dwayne. His older brother was called Wayne

proudbrows · 01/09/2018 17:43

I remember seeing a birth announcement in the paper once...twins called Penny and Dollar!

Cyclingpast · 01/09/2018 17:46

Should you be sharing this on the internet if you work for a school?

Offred2 · 01/09/2018 17:58

I’ve know of identical twin girls called Myer and Nyer (yep, with those spellings).

Nousernamefound · 01/09/2018 18:01

Odd, but let’s hope the parent or family/friends of the parents aren’t on here. Could be considered pretty indiscreet for someone working at the school to pop that on mumsnet as there can’t be that many twins called that just starting school.

OlennasWimple · 01/09/2018 18:12

I know an Elizabeth - Isobel twin set: both lovely names, but essentially the same name

I also know a Steven, named after his dad...Stephen.... I have no idea why they deliberately chose different spelling when both are perfectly acceptable

George Foreman called all five of his sons "George" and one of his daughters "Georgette" Hmm

ISeeTheLight · 01/09/2018 18:15

In Belgium (where Local Authorities can veto a name on registration if they think it will harm the child), a judge ruled parents couldn't call their newborn twins Stella and Artois. Stella was fine but they had to find a different name for Artois.

bertielab · 01/09/2018 18:20

I went to school with 3 boy triplets, Edward, Ernie and Eric. Their parents were barking though and lived on a huge mansion complete with their own estate in the middle of nowhere and shot their own ducks for supper.

campion · 01/09/2018 18:28

I had a head of dept called Eileen whose sister was Aileen. She stressed the A sound but it's the same name.

cunningartificer · 01/09/2018 18:36

Seriously? Surely this is a journalist thread designed to find out “amusing” names! Someone working in a school would be very very foolish to be posting such identifiable details in such a mocking (or indeed any) context.

AveABanana · 01/09/2018 18:42

Twin Peakes Grin
And now I want goldfish called Horace and Doris.

Sarahandduck18 · 01/09/2018 18:45

I’ve heard of a woman who had a dp John. They had a ds John.

(Which I think is creepy all these men naming their sons after themselves- it’s always the dads never the mums)

Then they broke up.

So she’s a single mum with a son John.

She then meets another man called John and they have a DS together who they name John.

So this woman lives with 3boys/men called John!

Bellabutterfly2016 · 01/09/2018 18:48

I used to babysit twins - Annabelle & Isabelle - now they're

Bellabutterfly2016 · 01/09/2018 18:49

21 and hate it and call themselves Annie and Izzy
The mother used to refer to them as "her belles" - pass the sick 🤒 bucket

CatkinToadflax · 01/09/2018 19:00

I have a friend with a cat called Oscar. She then had a baby boy and named him Oscar.

whitechocolatespaceegg · 01/09/2018 19:03

I knew of twins once, Jacqueline and Jillian, known as Jac and Jill...

whitechocolatespaceegg · 01/09/2018 19:07

Oh and a couple, Ann and Dave who called their children Andrea and David.

Magpiefeather · 01/09/2018 19:09

Not quite the same but I knew someone called

Ivor Payne.

Why would you do that to your child???!!!!
