Just that really.... inspired by the recent sticker campaign.... "Women can't have penises" and "Some women have penises"....

Simple question - simple answer.

Me - Yes, I believe women can't have penises.

If that's a comment on my post SerenDippitty I didn't say women give birth or imply that giving birth is a qualification of womenhood. I said men can't give birth.

It's bloody ridiculous when you see pictures of women with beards and they're claiming that they have given birth as men, which is what I was referring to.

This is not the same as the rigidly imposed gender stereotypes that are imposed on us all, also often referred to as gender.

You go on what people look like and what people tell you they are. That is a combination of their gender expression and their gender identity. Identity trumps expression, because if you think someone is a guy at first glance then they correct you, most people would accept the correction.

I know people are desperately trying to make that happen, but it simply isn't true. To most people, and the dictionary, and the law, and biology, and medicine, woman means adult, human, female - ie. it's a descriptor of sex, not gender (which is an oppressive social construct and should be done away with entirely)
