Don't get me wrong she seems like a lovely lady and does have some useful tips but AIBU to think she cleans alot and often. As a single mum I don't hardly have anytime during the day to do this amount of cleaning! Now it's making me feel bad that I don't clean this much 😂

I’ll give that a go rainbow thanks! I just saw a sea of silvery grey and was put off

OkMaybeNot · 20/09/2018 12:35

Yes, she puts a grey filter over her house pics by the looks of it too.

'cos grey apparently isn't grey enough Grin

SlowlyShrinking · 20/09/2018 12:41

Ha really?? There’s so much I don’t know about Instagram. It’s certainly very very grey, anyway

Queenofthedrivensnow · 20/09/2018 12:42

@rainbowsandsmiles exactly

Zombae · 20/09/2018 13:52

@rainbowsandsmiles I used gloves whilst spraying, then when I later touched any surfaces/fabrics that were in contact with the fabric softener spray, it made my hands itch and come up in blisters - despite it being diluted. I also came to the conclusion that because I have a child and pets, spraying fabric conditioner all over my house is not a good idea. Thanks for the gloves tip though, but nah.

Secondly, what I'm trying to say is how yawn it is that she is regurgitating tips that have been circulating on YouTube/Pinterest/Instagram/blogs for a long time.

I understand that it's her personality and the way she looks that seems to encourage some to clean their bathrooms more often than twice a month. To each their own.

Frosty66611 · 20/09/2018 13:56

@zombae surely all of these types of pages regurgitate things that have been done a million times already. If each person had to come up with 100% authentic content that had never been done before then there would probably only be about 10 people in the world able to do it.
If she’s the only cleaning instagrammer I follow then everything she shows is new and helpful to me

Zombae · 20/09/2018 13:59

@Frosty66611 Sure, but you don't see all of the authors of those pages on This Morning. Fair enough that some people just like the way she talks and the way she looks. Not my cup of tea, but I'm allowed to have reasons for not joining her "army."

AmIUnderstandingThisCorrectly · 20/09/2018 14:05

I think the while thing is a bit unhealthy to be honest. People seem a little obsessed and extremely defensive.

rainbowsandsmiles · 20/09/2018 14:16

Exactly! She;s definitely the only cleaning IGer I follow (or anything I follow or read, it certainly isn't cleaning related Grin ) so it's all brand new information to me lol.

Zombae · 20/09/2018 14:28

You know what, I hadn't heart of The Organised Mum and the other bloggers that people had mentioned, but it looks like they're not as popular even though they are doing the same thing. Let's be honest, Mrs Hinch has gone viral because the media is shallow, she is more glamorous than the other cleaning instagrammers and because of her TOWIE-esque persona.

rainbowsandsmiles · 20/09/2018 14:46

Seeing as I (and presumably a lot of others) were following her without having a clue what she looks like (as she never usually shows her face, you just see a hand cleaning!) I don't think the fact she is glamorous looking has anything to do with it.

Crazyladee · 20/09/2018 18:22

I went into Poundland today as I was getting low on a few everyday cleaning products and as the shop assistant was putting the items through the till she gave me a bit of a look as it dawned on me that I had unknowingly bought most of the items from Mrs Hinchs "daily basket". A few weeks ago I downloaded Instagram and followed Mrs Hinch after seeing this thread. I've had a nosy at some of her stories but there's no way I want any one thinking im a sheep or member of the hinch army! I saw a Facebook post from someone who had cleared out and designated their entire under stairs cupboard to store their stock piles of cleaning products and had photographed it all showing off over £200 worth of zoflora boxes. I'm completely gobsmacked at how stark raving mad people are going with the obsession.. even purchasing expensive items like the shark hoovers. Incidentally in my local Poundland which is a large one on a large retail park they had empty shelves where the zoflora usually is. I actually overheard a conversation between shop assistants about creating a Hinch aisle and storing all Mrs Hinchs favourite products together! Until I got to know about Mrs Hinch I thought zoflora was what the very older generation bought in the same way they bought vim, Ajax and boxes of soapflakes!
Each to their own but I just don't get the hype!

rainbowsandsmiles · 20/09/2018 18:31

Actually started tidying the under stairs cupboard here today actually so funny you should say that Blush Grin
I could have an amazing Narnia under there. If I cleared it of crap first Grin
I won't be buying a shark though as I'm skint, and I won't be stockpiling 95 bottles of zoflora or tubs of Pink Stuff, only because I can't get my head round stockpiling and think whyyyy would I need so many?! Grin
Completely understand that people do like a stash though and that's where each to their own comes in.
Maybe I'll just stop at maybe 3 or 4 of each lol.

Shock And people think preppers or people who have taken heed of Brexit stockpile advice are going too far?
CaptainCorrigan · 20/09/2018 18:41

They're literally going to be pouring money down the drain in the name of hinching

PaddysMarket · 20/09/2018 19:36

I'm a cleaner, one house I clean for has a minky and I was so tempted to tell the client how the Hinch Army is going mad for the cloth and could I stick it on eBay and we could go halves on the top bid Grin.

CaptainCorrigan · 20/09/2018 20:07

Apparently there's a bottle of a rare fragrance of zoflora on eBay for £43!!!

GulagMilkMonitor · 20/09/2018 20:07

I’ve just seen that she has been admitted to hospital. I do hope she is okay.

rainbowsandsmiles · 20/09/2018 20:12
Sad
Pursefirst · 20/09/2018 20:15

It's the most tedious thing ever. Yawn

Zombae · 20/09/2018 22:17

I cannot understand why anyone would stockpile Zoflora. When will people wake up and smell the stink. They either smell like cheap perfume or disgusting synthetic fragrance. Also it's £1+ a bottle and people seem to be pouring nearly whole bottles down their drains every day.

dawn96 · 20/09/2018 22:18

Boopsy - it's in her stories I think, I saw it earlier.

rainbowsandsmiles · 20/09/2018 22:28

Good for you that your house is immaculate Dawn, not everyone's is though and nor do they usually care or feel motivated enough to do anything about it. Not sure what's making you laugh about that,as it feels pretty crappy when it happens.
