Don't get me wrong she seems like a lovely lady and does have some useful tips but AIBU to think she cleans alot and often. As a single mum I don't hardly have anytime during the day to do this amount of cleaning! Now it's making me feel bad that I don't clean this much 😂

Mine is a 1930s and I feel the same. We have just had our whole kitchen renovated and there are still quirks because they had to work with what they had!

That’s ok though, I love my old house and all it’s dirty quirks. I do just love all those clean lines in her house though!

dawn96 · 07/09/2018 19:41

This is so embarrassing 🤣 as if this is a real thread ! I had no idea what a damn hinch was but after research I conclude that a lot of you have too much time on your hands ,never mind the cleaning lady haha

Mariaslimming · 07/09/2018 19:51

There is a whole thread about one particular lady whom I want to add is a very nice lady. So if my children were to set up a what’s app group purely to state a child in their school would that not be classed as bullying, so what’s the difference here, absolutely no difference at all. And before you argue why we are always stating “us mums” remember what this is flippin called..........mumsnet!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

rainbowsandsmiles · 07/09/2018 19:53

Meh, Mumsnetting is a pointless pastime for people with too much time on their hands if you think about it include myself in that statement Grin so can't see why it's too much time on your hands if you choose to clean and have fun with it instead

ChardonnaysPrettySister · 07/09/2018 20:06

And before you argue why we are always stating “us mums” remember what this is flippin called..........mumsnet!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Someone clearly missed their reading comprehension in school. You were clearly told that many posters don't have children, or are, the horror, men, but that Fifties Little House Lady attitude must be hard to shift.

Being a 'mum' is not my defining characteristic, and I would imagine many other posters feel the same.

On the other hand, I'm glad at least one of the cleaning army got the name of the website right. Little steps in the right direction. You'll get there.

Again, if someone is happy cleaning, and is declaring their earnings then good luck to them.

Pamdoo · 07/09/2018 20:50

Well the person is 28, therefore not a child, and puts herself on social media. But only so people can say nice things right?!

I'm backing away from this thread as I can't really handle the stupidity of it anymore, and its become a bit like watching videos of someone cleaning a sink- boring. You can't reason with stupid clearly.

nicebitofquiche · 07/09/2018 20:51

I've just followed her. I've just watched her daily cleaning basket story. Does she work full time because there's no way I'd want to do all that every single day when getting up at 6 every morning and getting in at 6 every night? Plus her nails are magnificent and she doesn't use gloves. Who is this goddess? I love her.

cleanmad · 07/09/2018 21:00

Nicebitofquiche
She had her own business so I imagine it’s quite flexible with hours.
And she wears gloves sometimes but does forget a lot haha!!

nicebitofquiche · 07/09/2018 21:21

Cleanmad thank goodness for that. She is human.

FTMemma - making cleaning a bit of fun, isn't it. She's appealing and seems to have a sense of humour. I love the fact she names her cleaning products, bonkers but in a great way Grin

Of course her house looks amazing and clean and shiny because her house is new, the furniture is matching and coordinated and she has no dc therefore no clutter. It seems that flowers on the hob are the new stunt pineapples? I fear for her internal organs with the mixing of products, that cannot be good for your health at all.
Off the back of this thread I am now following littlemissmops who I can relate to. Mildewed sealants, grimy taps etc (I rent) and she does before and after pictures which is great.

ChaoticPotato · 08/09/2018 15:16

I don't think Mrs Hinch will get a lot of love on Mumsnet for her decor, since nearly all of her decor choices are in the interior design pet hates thread.
I do think it's a bit sad that there are instagram accounts with beautiful photos and informative stories yet they don't get any glory - but that's the thing with 'instafame' and going viral - it's not necessarily the best who become famous.
I would never use as many cleaning products as she does because I have allergies and I have children. Not only is mixing several cleaning compounds dangerous, but the obsession with spraying every surface with anti-bacterial sprays (Zoflora etc) is unnecessary and may just continue to contribute to the problem of super resistant bacteria.
My home is tidy and clean, but I don't constantly spray Zoflora everywhere and our family isn't sick all the time.

dawn96 · 08/09/2018 19:00

I wonder how many of you would have a different opinion on her if she wasn’t so glamorous ,Lashes ,hair ,tan ,beautiful figure, modern home etc... also seems she has her one business ? I know some women can be very threatened by that

rainbowsandsmiles · 08/09/2018 19:06

That home decor list of dislikes upthread is ridiculous. Does anybody like anything? Grin Each to their own.

Mrsmrsmrs1 · 08/09/2018 19:11

Just reading through these comments made me realise it’s no wonder so many children and teenagers are cyber bullying these days with mothers like this behind them . The adult form of bullying , sitting at home saying you don’t have time to clean and a clean house is an empty life . Sorry you don’t have time to clean your house as it would be so called “neglecting your kids” but you have time to sit on your nasty ass’s to abuse a girl for having a cleaning inspiration Instagram . 😂😂😂 people like to see you doing well but not better than them , and jealousy is a terrible terrible thing .
Keyboard warriors ! Mrs hinch keep doing your thing with your gorgeous personality an uplifting posts , your helping so many people feel better 😘 much love

Mrsmrsmrs1 · 08/09/2018 19:24

Because it’s calles mumsnet 😂😂

Brendatheblender · 08/09/2018 20:16

dawn96

Before I saw what she looked like, I had a very different picture of her in my head (literally whole different ethnicity) and it made no difference. Nor should it for anyone else.

Brendatheblender · 08/09/2018 20:17

Also, my idea of home style is very different from Mrs hinches

Tutlefru · 08/09/2018 20:40

In her defence most of these insta homes are bloody grey! Grin Honestly it's been taken to another level! Grey walls, grey flooring, grey tables, grey curtains, bedding, drawers.... it goes on.

I think the concept of Insta can be strange. It's mostly staged photos. Someone was right earlier it is strangely addictive.

OftenHangry · 08/09/2018 22:55

I just check out her stories. Isn't it dangerous to leave sponges and such soaking overnight?
Hey, good on her doing well, but have quite a few health concerns Hmm

gimmecake · 08/09/2018 23:47

OftenHangry omg yes very dangerous! Imagine if her soaking sponges were to explode during the night? Even worse - her husband could get up in the night and go to get a glass of water inhale the fumes and faint, knocking himself unconcious in the process?!! Shock OR... omg the germs in the sponges could all be killed and she could be charged with murder??? Shock

Yes who would have thought soaking your cleaning sponges and cloths in disinfectant overnight could have such terrible, terrible consequences?Confused.

rainbowsandsmiles · 08/09/2018 23:55

I don't see the issue with soaking dishcloths in disinfectant overnight, but admit I'm not comfortable with mixing different cleaning products together, that doesn't sound a good idea at all to me.

HavingALittleBabyToolshed · 09/09/2018 01:28

Checked her out and she seems to be doing enormously well at turning herself and her passion into a brand. I hope she does well and is able to harness that passion.

I can’t believe how many products/wipes/plastics she uses but I can’t get worked up about it because I doubt my advice would change her actions.

I do also think these is a vast difference between criticism and bullying and whilst the majority of the posts on here have been critical of this “girl” woman I think they have been very far from bullying or attacking. Mumsnet is a robust site where we tend to rail against the idea that women must “be nice” because we are women.
Valid criticism is not bullying, this is something I strive to instil in my children.
