Don't get me wrong she seems like a lovely lady and does have some useful tips but AIBU to think she cleans alot and often. As a single mum I don't hardly have anytime during the day to do this amount of cleaning! Now it's making me feel bad that I don't clean this much 😂

No no no , it is bullying .... of course people are entitled to their opinion on mixing chemicals etc etc , but snide remarks about her home , the decor and accusing her of buying likes . Calling her names ,, all those things are bullying . If you found a group chat speaking about your child , or friend or any other family member you would surely accuse them of bullying that person . This is not any different . She is just a normal person who has never done anything on any of you so get a grip and find something better to do with your time . Must be exhausting being nasty , much easier to be nice 😄so cheer up peeps

OftenHangry · 09/09/2018 08:41

@gimmecake what an adult reply that was🙄

Disinfectants degrade when used. Pure bleach mixed with water is only good for about 24 hours, weaker disinfectants degrade much, much faster. I was always taught it's good to soak fully submerged sponge for couple of hours then dry it out to prevent bacteria growth.

cakeforone · 09/09/2018 08:43

I've followed her for a couple of weeks and find her stories entertaining.

Fair play to her, she seems like a down to earth lady and clearly enjoys what she does. If she's got people feeling better in any small way then well done to her.

The thing I take issue with is the sheer volume of products that people seem to be rushing out and buying. Absolutely terrible for the environment. Some people are sharing pictures of up to 20 bottles or zoflora etc. Nobody is perfectly eco-friendly but I do think that we are all responsible to do our little bit to improve things.

The chemical mixing is also an issue I think. There has been articles in the press about these combinations being fatal. And I think now she has a huge following she should start thinking a bit more about what she is promoting.

I'd like to see her carrying on with her cleaning tips but with less products and less chemicals.

TheGateauIsInTheChateau · 09/09/2018 09:05

Please be careful mixing products. I know people have said upthread about the effects being fatal but you can have life altering scars too, especially if you do it in a small enclosed area (e.g shower), you can burn your skin for the fumes - eyes are especially vulnerable. Have seen this first hand, it’s horrible.

So glad it isn't just me ! I started following her to see what the hype was about but I don't get It!

She does seem lovely etc but I much prefer the organised mum she is so much more relatable and has a system that means you hardly spend any time cleaning .
I suppose everyone is different and likes different things.

Skyejuly · 09/09/2018 09:50

I don't get people bragging about buying 20bottles of zoflora. Would they buy them if they couldnt put a picture on IG? Doubt it.

twattymctwatterson · 09/09/2018 10:09

I like her. I feel like some on this thread can't see beyond their class prejudices. Yes she's very Essex, calls everyone "mate" and uses a staggering range of cleaning products but she seems like fun and has a good sense of humour. While I think the amount of cleaning she does is a bit bonkers, she obviously enjoys it and I've been inspired to stay on top of things a bit more since I started following her. I won't be breaking the bank on Zoflora any time soon though

I don’t get the stockpiling cleaning products. The shops sell this stuff on an ongoing basis.

Just spent 5 minutes looking at The Organised Mum and shan't go back as it all depends on "Mum" getting up an hour before anyone else in the house. Sorry but fuck that.

It really doesn't 😂 There is no way in hell i wpuld be getting up an hour earlier to clean!

It is about personal preference and making it work for you.

twattymctwatterson · 09/09/2018 10:47

Chardonnay I was referring to the snide digs about her accent, comments that she's "aggressive" because of the way she speaks and the fact that she calls people mate (that's completely regional) and even some of the comments about her decor, which, having hung around Mumsnet for several years, I know some are digs about being "common". Criticisms about wipes, mixing products and generally cleaning a ridiculous amount are valid but I still think if she's helping people become a bit more enthusiastic about cleaning then that can only be a good thing. I say that as someone who is disorganised and hates cleaning so I'm always fighting an uphill battle against a messy and grubby home

WhatsGoingOnEh · 09/09/2018 11:04

I only heard of her through this thread, but I've just bought 2 bottles of Zoflora and "put my kitchen to bed" last night. My house is tidier. I think she's fab. Anyone who can motivate my lazy arse to push a Hoover around is OK in my book 😂

WhatsGoingOnEh · 09/09/2018 11:06

Where can I see a photo of her? I've created a real mental image but I haven't seen her face anywhere.

rainbowsandsmiles · 09/09/2018 11:18

One of her stories ( think it was last night) was face to camera. She's very pretty.

rainbowsandsmiles · 09/09/2018 11:19

Younger looking than I thought, thought she'd be older - must be the Mrs part of the name, sounds like she'd be older than she is Grin

FTMemma · 09/09/2018 11:39

She’s 28,
And regards to the way she talks I’m from Essex and I don’t speak like that

rainbowsandsmiles · 09/09/2018 11:41

Didn't know she was from Essex, but thought she must be from the accent Smile

WhatsGoingOnEh · 09/09/2018 12:15

She's stunning! All the best, mate! Well, I'd say her future is secure. She'll be the new face of Flash.

wineusuallyhelps · 09/09/2018 13:48

@Originalsaltedpeanuts just to say that it doesn't mean getting up earlier. Been following it for 3 weeks. I fit in my 30 mins in little chunks - ten minutes here and there. It gives me permission not to clean everything on one day Smile

dillydally446 · 09/09/2018 13:54

@Originalsaltedpeanuts Perhaps if you spent more than 5 minutes looking at it, you might realise that it's not that at all. Why can't everyone just stop judging people so hastily on here!

We're trying to save money and have stopped having our usual cleaner in favour of the organised mum method.

After work and as soon as our young DC are in bed DH and I set the timer for 15 minutes and do the jobs on the list for that day. Often takes us less than 15 mins and is all done for the day. It doesn't take long at all and is quick and easy.

BustleInYourHedgerow · 10/09/2018 01:30

I like Ellen O' Keefe, she has young children and one with asd so it's more realistic. She was talking about the science behind cleaning products the other day and it was really interesting. She does usesome eco friendly products too.
