Sex towel

Not really an AIBU but I wanted opinions on this.

A colleague of mine told me that she lays a towel down every time her and her husband have sex. She was pretty disgusted with me when I confessed that I don't undertake in such a practice, so I was wondering; am I doing this wrong?! Is a sex towel a thing??

I love a capful of Dettol in the bath, I LOVE the smell.

Talking generally here, not specifically after sex.

NoFuckingRoomOnMyBroom · 25/08/2018 09:20

This thread is a proper wtaf 🤣
I also cannot believe how many of you have a sex towel.

BeyondMyThoughts · 25/08/2018 09:35

"This would be both a fascinating and quite alarming thread for anyone reading who is about to have sex for the first time"

gingergenius · 25/08/2018 09:36

Yes for period sex and if you're a squirrel, otherwise no!

gingergenius · 25/08/2018 09:36

Squirter not squirrel!!!! Grin

Sparklingbrook · 25/08/2018 09:44

Do you think 'sex towel' should be added to the list of University essentials to pack? 🤔

TheSassyAssassin · 25/08/2018 09:52

But ginger am sure your average squirrel would appreciate a towel to keep its nuts clean and dry!

Zoflorabore · 25/08/2018 09:59

This thread is why sales of black bed sheets are so low.

Tmi but once when dtd my period started and dp thought his willy had fell off, he was being quite... vigorous at the time and when he looked down all he saw was blood.

We don't do period sex the swine

This is the thread that keeps on givingGrin

picklemepopcorn · 25/08/2018 10:46

DrPeppersPhD · 25/08/2018 10:54

Howling at anus hole, though I admit this was the first thing to come into my head.

Sex towel
TokyoSushi · 25/08/2018 10:58

What on Earth are you people doing?! What is this towel mopping up?! We have no towel, and nothing that we would use it for?!

Perhaps we're doing it wrong! Grin

Mrsramsayscat · 25/08/2018 11:32

A tarpaulin! Too funny!

PenguinBollard · 25/08/2018 11:59

Period (drama) sex

This thread is gold

FASH84 · 25/08/2018 12:12

We don't have a sex towel, or a towel for clean up! That's what baby wipes are actually for.. Also try and manoeuvre to DHs side but now we have a giant bed no one has to sleep in the wet patch. I did do the roll and dash pre TTC though , never find it ruins the moment we've known each other too long. Have found even after showering etc a couple of hours later the wet stuff has been known to make an appearance, cue dashing to the loo in Waitrose 🙈. Don't do period sex other than in the shower, because I bleed so heavily it would look like a crime scene

torthecatlady · 25/08/2018 12:22

Haven't read the whole thread yet, but some of these replies are brilliant.

@checkingforballoons Tarpaulin Shock Just like in the movies Grin

We use a towel if there's one to hand. We used to use wet wipes.

PositivelyPERF · 25/08/2018 12:30

I don’t know which is funnier, the comments or the spell checks, but this thread is hilarious! 🤣

HugeAckmansWife · 25/08/2018 12:59

Totally want to change my username to sextowelsquirrel 😂😂😂

MemorialBeach · 25/08/2018 13:01

This may be a stupid question but please forgive me as I am rather unexperienced, but I assume those of you talking about avoiding wet patches are having sex on the bottom sheet of the bed, either under the duvet, or with the duvet pushed aside/on the floor? If you want to avoid wet patches, why wouldn't you just have sex on top of the duvet? The bottom sheet will be nice and dry and nobody will have to sleep in any wet patch.

beeefcake · 25/08/2018 13:25

She said it was to prevent staining of any kind

OP posts:
beeefcake · 25/08/2018 13:28

I always have to run to the toilet straight after, which isn't very romantic but I am ultra prone to cystitis, so it has never really been a huge issue for me.

I also didn't ask her what colour her bed sheets are, which might explain things further. I will add this to my to do list on Tuesday.

OP posts:
VanGoghsDog · 25/08/2018 13:30

Sex on top of the duvet is fine in summer, but in winter it's too cold.

THEsonofaBITCH · 25/08/2018 13:33

easier to wash the sheet and mattress pad than the duvet, IMHO.
