To think we need to talk about this specific serious Brexit issue without being hidden away?

Leaked emails between NHS England and NHS Providers have shown that a no deal Brexit (Nrexit?) will have a real risk of impact on services. Stockpiling of equipment and drugs seems to be the main point of discussion - this seems to be main topic of conversation at my hospital and my colleagues are dumbfounded that this is what we are coming to.

We as a community, as nation, a society need to talk about this. The NHS is something to be proud of, is something they banged on about whilst campaigning, is something fit for advertising on a bus! How on earth can this country let be impacted in such a dangerous and aggressive way?

Look, I get why the whole of AIBU can’t be taken us by one topic but equally Brexit, particularly a no-deal Brexit is going to impact our lives in ways in which we can’t imagine. This topic needs to be discussed on the widest forum and on this site that is AIBU. There are lots of sub forums for clothes, pets, relationships and those topics don’t get rerouted elsewhere.

@Anyamumsnet @mumsnetHQ Why do you not move the Trump threads to Politics from AIBU? Or the ones about alcohol consumption in pregnancy to the Pregnancy topic? Or the ones complaining about their dh's behaviour to Relationships? Or the ones complaining about their stroppy teenager to Teenagers? Confused (I could go on but you get the picture Angry)

What is it that makes you collude with those that wish the subject hidden away so that people can continue to stick their heads in the sand remain unaware of potential issues and concerns. Sad And I use the word "collude" deliberately.

MingeUterusMingeMingeYoni · 21/08/2018 15:28

As the Brexit area is pretty active anyway, we're going to move this over.

How very point missing of you @anyamumsnet. Watch this thread die the death now, which alas will make the OPs point beautifully for her.

Rufustheyawningreindeer · 21/08/2018 15:31

This is all going to go tits up and people are going to be pretty pissed that no one told them

The brexit board has pretty much the same people saying the same stuff

Putting it on a general board allows for potentially a fresh perspective

Threads on FWR that get transferred to AIBU are COMPLETELY different

AnyaMumsnet · 21/08/2018 16:20

Hi there everyone,

We've had a proper chat about this here and we understand where you're all coming from - we're going to move this back to AIBU.

AnyaMumsnet

Thank you, I really appreciate it. I’m not stirring up trouble but I do think this is something that needs more eyes and more POVs than those who live for Brexit.

Good decision, MNHQ. Now if we could just get the 17+ million Brexit voters to realise they made the wrong call ...

woman11017 · 21/08/2018 16:41

FlowersSmile little toolshed and MN thank you, more talking with more posters. This is the single most important event to affect us women and our kids for generations.

Now the reality is hitting home, the Brexiteers are digging their heads further and further into the sand.

Just for the record making this stuff up gets you nowhere, you have no idea what Brexiteers are doing because they refuse to come on these threads due to the shit that gets thrown at them.

prettybird · 21/08/2018 16:43

They don't need to realise they've made the wrong call - they just need to understand the real consequences of their choice.

It's up to them to decide if the cost is worth it. They may consider that it is.

CressidaEgg · 21/08/2018 16:50

They don't need to realise they've made the wrong call - they just need to understand the real consequences of their choice

Same thing to me. I want them not to object to Article 50 being revoked.

BoneyBackJefferson · 21/08/2018 16:52

CressidaEgg

I want them not to object to Article 50 being revoked.

Why would they not object when that is exactly what they voted for?

Echo2 · 21/08/2018 16:53

I’m really glad HQ have moved this back to AIBU. I’m looking forward to lots of new posters posting their thoughts & entering into meaningful discussion.

GhostofFrankGrimes · 21/08/2018 16:58

Sensible decision.

CressidaEgg · 21/08/2018 17:00

Boney - Brexiters voted for Article 50 to be invoked.

MingeUterusMingeMingeYoni · 21/08/2018 17:06

Yes, good call and credit where due. Some consistency of approach is needed.

twistanddoubt · 21/08/2018 17:07

Is this a Remoaner "Project Fear" thread in disguise?

BoneyBackJefferson · 21/08/2018 17:10

CressidaEgg

Yet you knew what I meant.

bellinisurge · 21/08/2018 17:11

This topic is going to affect everyone not just nerds like me.

Walkingdeadfangirl · 21/08/2018 17:14

I can't really see the EU saying no to the Billions we spend on medical drugs. But oh well, there are plenty of other places in the world we can buy them from and probably a lot cheaper. No reason why we cant be ready for a WTO Brexit in March.

ImKait · 21/08/2018 17:17

Good decision, MNHQ. Now if we could just get the 17+ million Brexit voters to realise they made the wrong call ...

Have you tried calling them thick and racist?

gamerchick · 21/08/2018 17:19

Just for the record making this stuff up gets you nowhere, you have no idea what Brexiteers are doing because they refuse to come on these threads due to the shit that gets thrown at them

I get that impression as well. It's been what? 2 year of explain yourself and you're a thick cunt and on and on and on and ooooon......

Now it's spreading because stressing about something you have no control of needs to be shared far and wide.

@Walkingdeadfangirl - you really think we are ready for a No Deal WTO Brexit? Haven't been paying much attention.

Rufustheyawningreindeer · 21/08/2018 17:44

Thank you anyamumsnet
