Do you regret your tattoos

Been wanting a tattoo for years but I know I'm a fickle soul. I'll go through a phase of wanting a certain theme and it passes. I'd like a tattoo for a tattoos sake, but would hate to regret it. Does anyone regret their tattoos how long did you wait until you decided on one?

I've got a tiger one on my shoulder that I don't regret and i'm saving up to get a bigger one on my arm of my own design that has both my dd's names and also incorporates the babies I lost through miscarriages and my 3 1/2 year old dd loves looking at mine.

I wanted one when I was at Uni but did a 'trial' of a henna one and that put me off. Glad I didn't get inked now.

No. I took months to decide on both of mine, the tattooist designed the second one.

The only thing I regret about mine is it's size, I had my daughters name done about 11 years ago on the inside of my lower arm.

It's quite big but really well done, I Also regret having my daughters name as I now have two other children so will need them done too and I have no idea where to put them.

Strange thing is half the time I forget it's there until I roll up a sleeve or someone mentions it.

DH has four. He doesn't regret the design of any of them, but one is a fraction too low on his arm to be covered by a short sleeve, which annoys him sometimes.

My brother is heavily tattooed and regrets not going to a better artist for his first one, which is fading and uneven at the edges.

I think some of the artwork and skills on tattoos nowadays are phenomenal but I can't get beyond thinking they make the skin look grubby - possibly because so many are black or dark. A friend has a brightly coloured floral one on her foot and I think it looks lovely. Funnily enough I always liked the "tramp stamps" even if they are of their time. Fortunately there wasn't a tattoo parlour at Waterloo station the night I got minging drunk and decided I wanted my football club's crest on my breast because I'd definitely be regretting that now Grin

I had my first tattoo three years ago at the age of 64 and am planning my second. No regrets!

Raspberryberetthekindyoufind · 12/08/2018 22:25

Not at all, it’s on my forearm and I waited till an age were it would not be a whim.

I have my ex husband's initials on my wrist but I doubt you're stupid enough to do something like that, unlike my (drunk) self

Got mine a few months ago. V discreet and meaningful. Only one person had noticed (and he was ogling my heels Grin)
