Or are Audi drivers all morons?

6 week's holiday with DC and doing a lot more driving at all times of day and evening.

It's got to be 90% of the time, when there is a car up my arse, itching to take over, doing a lot more than speed limit, undertaking on motorway (when I'm at limit), not giving way etc it is mostly always an Audi!!

Why is this? Is it just me? Do you know any nice, decent people who drive Audi's? Are they all failed Nicky Lauder's? It's annoying me now. AIBU?

I find it more people in huge four by four wandering over into the other lane

MrsAidanTurner · 10/08/2018 22:02

But I agree everyone seems to have an audi...

whywhywhywhywhyyy · 10/08/2018 22:03

Generally twats, the things must come without indicators.

VeniVidiWeeWee · 10/08/2018 22:12

So you refused to serve them and reported them to the police?

Tiredtomybones · 10/08/2018 22:14

Yabu.

Unihorn · 10/08/2018 22:17

Yes of course... Hmm they weren't carrying out deals in the restaurant. I just worked in a rough area where it's fairly obvious who the drug dealers are. They're normally drinking shots of Courvoisier and texting on 3 phones. I don't think I could have them arrested for that. And it's certainly not illegal to drive a BMW yet Wink

VeniVidiWeeWee · 10/08/2018 22:21

our choice.

Don't serve them

We've just bought a new Audi A5 and my husband is so careful with it he drives it like we're bringing a newborn home for the first time! It cracks me up as he couldn't be further from the stereotypical Audi driver. In my experience BMW drivers are the worst...

NalderAndCollier · 10/08/2018 22:59

Audi drivers = the pits.
Merc drivers = the pits
BMW drivers = the pits.

vw drivers = salt of the earth and grand fellows.

It's obvious.

crazycatgal · 11/08/2018 00:41

@Icepinkeskimo

You said the most popular Audi with people under 26 is the A3 which as standard isn't a particularly fast or powerful car, so I don't see this as a problem.

The Birmingham crash involved an Audi S3 though, not an A3 and that isn't available for next to nothing like the A3 that you talked about. Even in this case where a high-powered car was involved, that doesn't mean that all drivers of high-powered cars are idiots.

Regingaphalange · 11/08/2018 00:46

BMWS, AUDI and taxi are just the worst. Complete nightmare. They get the car and generally show they are complete and utter twatsHmmHmm

Mmmmmmmchips · 11/08/2018 00:59

BKWs and Range Rovers!

jemihap · 11/08/2018 06:33

The vast majority of new Audis on the road will be leased/PCP'd so their drivers are already proving that they have feelings of inadequacy and inferiority and have a need to be seen driving around in a car that they couldn't otherwise afford to buy in order to project a false image of their lives being wealthier and more successful than they really are.

So it stands to reason that these feelings of frustration and failure will manifest themselves in their driving habits as well.

I drive BMW & I think I'm good driver. I don't speed , overtake or tailgate & often give way to ppl who most of the time don't even say thank you . However I do find that ppl would often give me way with this car rather than my old car which was Mazda .
& some one on the thread mentioned that most of the BMW drivers have their cars on finance because they can't afford them , totally not true , we have had all cars on leases as once you buy a car outright the value of your car drops straight as soon as you drive off . With the lease you have an option to buy the car at the end or give it back nd get your self a new car Grin.

Slight correction

I drive an Audi A4 and am certainly not a wanker driver.
I think stereo typing is wrong. I nearly always have my children with me. Some people are just jealous I think Smile

KenDoddsDadsDog · 11/08/2018 07:44

Love my A1 , see plenty of badly driven cars all over .
Try driving down the A19 at Nissan clocking off time - you’d be surprised at the aggression the can build up from Quasqai and Juke drivers 😂

I own an A3 and a Golf, so what am I? 😂

runningkeenster · 11/08/2018 15:39

I noticed the difference when we got the older of our current two cars. I used to approach side roads thinking someone would pull out in front of me, and they invariably would. Once we had a newer car, that stopped. Now it's kind of started off again as the car is quite old (11 years).

Gaspodethetalkingdog · 11/08/2018 15:43

Personally I find black Range Rovers the worst, which I generally equate to criminals and drug dealers, my husband is an Audi disliker although I know quite a few nice people who drive them ..

popocatepetals · 11/08/2018 19:25

If you had read my post properly, you would have noticed that I had crossed out 75 and put 70 so my so-called true speed would have been about 70 anyway according to your calculations. In any case your speedo can be +/- so I could have been going faster, not slower. The speed I was travelling at is irrelevant anyway, as I wasn't talking about me, I was talking about the arsholes who were speeding.
I was in what is commonly described as the 'slow' lane and none of the people hacking past at 100+ were tailgating me, they were just living it up in the fast lane.

ShutUpBaz · 11/08/2018 19:41

An Audi driver tried to push in front of me as we were in a jam caused by an accident. After waiting alongside me for a grand total of 30 seconds and not indicating, he was gesticulating rudely and his wife had a massive cats bum face at me because I refused to let them in (we hadn't moved forward at this first contact so he couldn't have got in front of me anyway as we were stationary). He got about four inches away from my brand new Ford Ecosport and I wound the window down and told him in no uncertain terms that if he chose to hit my car with his, he'd regret it. Massively.

For the record, if he had indicated and waited calmly I would have let him in front of me when we started moving. Its just his disgusting 'I drive a Audi so I can do what the fuck I want' attitude pissed me off. BMW drivers are the same without exception in my experience. Fuck knows who they think they are.

Justanotheruser01 · 11/08/2018 20:53

Nope - my bug bare is people in old mpv usually zafiras who drive like their on formula one they all seem to have an attitude round here.

VeniVidiWeeWee · 11/08/2018 20:56

popo
Ever thought about learning about the law?

Speedometers cannot overread, ie if you are travelling at a true 70 the speedo cannot read 72.

Elmersnewfriend · 11/08/2018 21:01

I have a BMW 1 series for my company car. I can't wait for the lease to be up as people are generally pretty horrible to me as a driver in it. If I get lost or don't know where I am - wrong lane etc - people won't let me into their lane as they assume I am a BMW wanker trying to cut them up or push in. At the weekend if I'm out in my husband's car, I notice a real change in attitude towards me, even though I drive in exactly the same way. And I'm a pretty nice driver, I think... no pushing in, aggressive shit or so on. So it works both ways!
