Or are Audi drivers all morons?

6 week's holiday with DC and doing a lot more driving at all times of day and evening.

It's got to be 90% of the time, when there is a car up my arse, itching to take over, doing a lot more than speed limit, undertaking on motorway (when I'm at limit), not giving way etc it is mostly always an Audi!!

Why is this? Is it just me? Do you know any nice, decent people who drive Audi's? Are they all failed Nicky Lauder's? It's annoying me now. AIBU?

I find it really weird that people get so angry and generalise about car brands. Why is it ok to call Audi drivers morons etc? What if I started a thread saying ‘all women who wear lipstick are tarts’ or ‘all women who dye their hair blonde are thick’? It’s offensive and non-sensical.

AlphaBravo · 10/08/2018 19:04

The "clown" advert is unintentionally ironic as fuck 😂

AlphaBravo · 10/08/2018 19:05

@beautybox you spent your money on a BMW... that alone says you're a muppet Grin

Notthemessiah · 10/08/2018 19:06

Not all Audi or BMW drivers are arseholes, but if you are an arsehole, you're probably driving an Audi or a BMW.

LyingWitchInTheWardrobe2726 · 10/08/2018 19:11

I find it odd too, CuriousOyster. It's exactly the same as the examples you've given and I'm sure your thread would be deleted if you started one. This thread is just as offensive in places and that was seemingly always the intention of the OP.

=
I'm more astonished that some posters haven't the slightest notion of vehicle type ratios, vehicles put on market, current financing options per brand, or even scant knowledge of sampling.

How can anybody make such daft pronouncements based on their own (tiny) experience? Confused

LyingWitchInTheWardrobe2726 · 10/08/2018 19:16

Alpha of course it is; any brand could have commissioned it. It's a good advert though but not as good as the Audi 'coming home' one. I like the current Hyundai advert.

Everybody thinks they're a bloody brilliant driver, regardless of what they drive. The cats-bum drivers though, they're almost certainly not Audi drivers, and that's something to be happy about. Grin

Riotgrrrrrl · 10/08/2018 19:16

In my experience Mondeo drivers are the worst.
Some BMW and AUDI are pretty bad though.

MilkTrayLimeBarrel · 10/08/2018 19:17

Well I am going to jump on the old bandwagon and scream that I am offended by this thread - after all, everybody is offended about everything these days. I might report it.

peoplearemean · 10/08/2018 19:17

Can't say I have ever noticed this with Audi drivers and no I'm not one.
BMWs though... not all but I will draw particular attention to the middle aged male driver of the 5 series who likes to drive up your arse and never signals, always notice a prevalence of them on the M25.
I find Mercedes and Audi drivers far more courteous.

DartmoorDoughnut · 10/08/2018 19:19

YANBU Audi drivers and BMW drivers are twats

LyingWitchInTheWardrobe2726 · 10/08/2018 19:20

I wanted a Mondeo; there wasn't one locally. They are super-fast, depending on the spec.

Hollipopsmum · 10/08/2018 19:22

We have 2 in our household- we’re not morons, criminals or drug dealers. We’ve both driven 20+ years with no accidents or convictions. We just like the way they drive and they are safe cars to transport our kids in . It’s pretty prejudiced to judge everyone with a car with the same badge the same. Completely agree with curious oyster

HereBeFuckery · 10/08/2018 19:23

Interesting how many Audi/BMW drivers think that 'if they're up your arse, you're in the wrong lane'

Nothing to do with it being dangerous, stupid, and fuckwitted to tailgate then?

As for undertaking - I have frequently seen cars join motorways too fast, undertake in order to take the fastest route to their rightful place the overtaking lane and do similar if other cars overtaking don't top 100 slowcoaches so no, being undertaken is not an indication that you are in the wrong lane.

BeautyBox · 10/08/2018 19:26

@AlphaBravo - I didn't, actually. It's a pool car. I spent my money on a Honda

ferrier · 10/08/2018 19:29

In order of idiocy - BMW , White van man ,Mercedes, Volvo, Audi

ThePinkOcelot · 10/08/2018 19:48

YANBU!! Audi or BMW on a par. They somehow think that the rules of the road don’t apply to them!!

Imchangingmyname · 10/08/2018 19:57

Perhaps it's a self-fulfilling prophecy. Buy one, start driving like a twat.

Re. The overtaking. I'm not a shit driver. I'm a sensible driver, using the middle lane sensibly. However I take my time, am considered, look at what other drivers are doing. So perhaps they've undertaken before I've had a chance to move back?

lyingwitch

No Mondeo is "superfast".

19lottie82 · 10/08/2018 20:03

No Mondeo is "superfast".

Top spec is 237 bhp I’d class that as pretty fast.

GreatDuckCookery6211 · 10/08/2018 20:07

Funnily enough both an Audi driver and a BMW driver overtook me and 2 other cars today on a very winding road, the Audi driver had to swerve in front of the first car to avoid an oncoming driver. The driver had to brake, I can imagine there would have been a lot of swearing going on in that car.

anothernameagain000 · 10/08/2018 20:11

I love Audi’s and pretty much always choose one when getting a new car. I’m a “nice” driver. I’ve been dissaponted by other cars and the service from the dealers, so yabu

lola212121 · 10/08/2018 20:16

People with status cars = me be me people so it makes sense

MissusGeneHunt · 10/08/2018 20:18

I had a beloved 2CV once, favourite car ever. I wonder what that made me, stereotypical-like?!

Lethaldrizzle · 10/08/2018 20:20

Petrol heads are just annoying in general whatever the make of car

berninisbeloved · 10/08/2018 20:21

How can it be that this - Audi and BMW drivers are shit - is true in USA in Canada and in 3 European countries I have lived in.
