To think this was an overreaction by teacher

One of my Friend's is a teacher and was supposed to be away for a few days. I was surprised to bump into her yesterday and she rolled her eyes and said two kids from her class had turned up at the same hotel so she insisted to her husband that they leave.

She said she wouldn't be able to relax, use the hotel swimming pool and changing room, have a drink etc without looking over her shoulder, and neither did she want parents coming over to talk about their kid's progress while she was on holidays.

Would most teachers feel like this or was that an over reaction?

If my ds tried to take a picture of a teacher (in or out of school) he'd fear me more than schools reaction.

His phone and iPad are attached to MH iCloud so I get everything. It took a few bans of tech to stop him taking selfies in lessons. I did point out if teachers caught him punishment would be worse and FULLY supported by me.

If we saw a teacher on holiday I'd avoid them more than they avoided me!

And we are a teaching family both before and after SM started!

A teacher colleague once described being a teacher as being like a celebrity but without the money.

You are being watched and judged all the time. Your behaviour has to be exemplary because of this. If you do anything noticeable, get your bottom dollar itd be gossiped about for months/years.

I'd be really uncomfortable and want to move too if possible.

@CaptainBrickbeard completely agree!

@youarenotkiddingme I wish all parents were like you! To be fair the majority are...it's just the small few that let the sensible parents down.

I remember my other colleague who had to phone home about a kid taking pics of him/using their phone in class! The mums reaction was 'I'll knock her block off and that bloody phone is going in the bin...I'm a teacher too I'm so sorry" a moment of solidarity in addition to howling down the phone!

Youarenotkidding i’ll have to work out how to do that!
