to ask how often you have a bath?

I'm not talking about showers, I'm talking lying/sitting down in a tub.

We have been having one about 3 times a week (me and dp share bath water), but I'm wondering if this is too much? We shower the other days, obviously. I know people who never have baths as they say it's too expensive.

Does anyone know how much it costs to have a bath (from the water usage perspective?) Our ater bill isn't outrageous so I'm curious to know how much the baths could be adding to it.

Every day. Two if I have the time. Bloody love a bath..... Have an enormous one as well.

iklboo · 01/08/2018 10:59

Only if I'm feeling really ill. I hate baths.

LeighaJ · 01/08/2018 10:59

Almost never, got out of the habit because I was pregnant and where I lived before only had a shower. My husband takes a bath every day. I'd take one with him if our tub was bigger.

I hate having baths. I only do it when my back is painful, as it softens it up for physio. I once had to take a bath every night for a month. It was dreadful. No amount of rubber ducks could make it tolerable.

Motortrader, I am surprised the bath fills up with a 10 minute shower. As I said above, I spend probably less than 5 minutes in the shower and when I have left the plug in there is only a small amount of water in the bath. The bath isn't even a quarter full.

An average bath holds 30 gallons (when I did bath I filled it right up). A shower uses 2 1/2 gallons a minute on average. So my 4 minute shower is only using 10 gallons. Sometimes I am quicker than 4 minutes so definitely using a lot less water

I have a P shaped bath so tend to shower. Also live in SW Water area.

Juanbablo · 01/08/2018 11:48

4 or 5 times a week. Our shower is really crap so I only use it when I haven't got time for a bath which is usually a couple of times a week. I love baths.

HidingFromMyKids · 01/08/2018 11:53

I don't have a shower in my house and the bath is under a low sloping roof Sad
It's a PITA as I have really long thick hair and I don't think it cleans properly Hmm

InsomniacAnonymous · 01/08/2018 14:08

"I have a P shaped bath"

I have never heard of that. It sounds very weird - will have to Google.

150 litres in a bath is rather a lot. Unless you are tiny, or the bath is abnormally big, you will displace a lot of it into the overflow or over the sides.

I usually estimate as 100litres.

GoatWithACoat · 01/08/2018 15:57

Once a week on a Friday night. Nice soak, shave, full body moisturise, paint toe nails. Aaaah.

Rest of the week shower in morning before work and another before bed.

alltoomuchrightnow · 01/08/2018 15:59

Just about every day. I hate showers and we don't have a proper one. I only use that for speed anyway.
Other places I've lived at ..no showers due to plumbing issues etc. So probably about 15 years with no showers at those places.
Am really not used to them. Also, in winter, it's far too cold to stand under one, I need to immerse in a boiling bath. I'm always cold and live in an old uninsulated cottage so a bath in winter is essential

GreenFingersWouldBeHandy · 01/08/2018 16:06

Every day. I don't have much choice, I don't have a shower!

soloula · 01/08/2018 16:21

I love baths but I don't really fit standard baths as I'm on the tall side. If my legs are in, my boobs and shoulders are out and I get cold. Or shoulders under then my knees poke out. I used to live in an old tenement with a huge bath and it was amazing (big enough to fit two people at the same time). I've been in new builds for the last 15 years and rarely have a bath. Last time was 5 years ago when I was pregnant with DD1. I dream of a big bathroom to fit a big bath.

AdilRamisTache · 01/08/2018 16:22

About 5 a year. They're boring.

I shower every day.

adaline · 01/08/2018 16:24

Twice a week.

Whereisthecoffee · 01/08/2018 16:38

Every day if I can manage it , it’s my bit of me time.

CoralFish · 01/08/2018 16:41

Whenever I need to wash my hair - usually three times a week.

Controversially I do not shower on the other days - just a quick pits and bits sponge wash (sorry TMI!!)

Ginger1982 · 01/08/2018 16:45

Do people really share bath water?

Maybugger · 01/08/2018 16:51

Every evening, bubbles, book, candles, glass of something. I only have a shower if I've got really grubby gardening. I wouldn't buy a house without a bath; a friend really regrets taking out her bath now she has grandchildren staying.

strawberrypenguin · 01/08/2018 16:52

I haven't had a bath for years. DH, DS1 and I all shower. Only DS2 still uses the bath. When he's a bit older I'd love to get rid and replace it with a nice big shower tbh
