to ask how often you have a bath?

I'm not talking about showers, I'm talking lying/sitting down in a tub.

We have been having one about 3 times a week (me and dp share bath water), but I'm wondering if this is too much? We shower the other days, obviously. I know people who never have baths as they say it's too expensive.

Does anyone know how much it costs to have a bath (from the water usage perspective?) Our ater bill isn't outrageous so I'm curious to know how much the baths could be adding to it.

Sunday, Tuesday & Thursday every week... I can't see in the shower to shave my legs so do it in the bath with specs on 🙈

bigbluebus · 31/07/2018 20:31

I can't remember the last time I had a bath - years and years ago. Can't see the point of them. Standing around waiting for the bath to fill then lounging around in the water? Much rather have a shower and use the time saved to do something useful.

happymummy12345 · 31/07/2018 20:31

I'm 25, last time I had a bath was when I was 17. That was only because I had chickenpox so had to.

Jjjjigoo · 31/07/2018 20:32

Never. I can't see the attraction of sitting in one. It's either scalding hot or too cold and you are forever fannying about topping the hot water up.

MadisonMontgomery · 31/07/2018 20:32

I have a bath nearly every day in winter - I don’t find showers as warming. I’ve never seen much difference in my water bill (am on a meter).

Rebecca36 · 31/07/2018 20:33

You can bathe and/or shower as often as you like, it doesn't hurt you and it's no-one else's business. I don't know why you are concerned about.

icouldbewrongicouldberight · 31/07/2018 20:33

I don’t have a shower so can only bathe. Lately I have one about every three days if I am lucky

SmiledWithTheRisingSun · 31/07/2018 20:33

Every day.
We share too Grin

JillyBear · 31/07/2018 20:34

Short answer - never.

I used to have one every day, then we took the bath out and have a walk in shower.

I can't believe how much I like a shower now, even in hotels.

Not had a bath for over two years. And we don't have a water meter, so it's not about the cost Smile.

sockunicorn · 31/07/2018 20:36

maybe twice a day, sometimes 3 if its cold out. before work, after work then before bed. i love the bath, its one of my favourite places. a shower maybe once every few months.

lovelovelovepancakes · 31/07/2018 20:38

Oh I love a bath. I have one every other day just for the fun of it. I have my iPad & a big glass of wine and it's as hot as I can stand it.
I shower on the other days as and when required, but that's not so much fun.

AdoraBell · 31/07/2018 20:38

Depends on stress levels. Can be 8 weeks between baths, or 2 in 3 days.

MarthasGinYard · 31/07/2018 20:38

Daily

2 some days

Matilda1981 · 31/07/2018 20:40

I haven’t had one since I had dd1 over 6 years ago and only had one then to help heal stitches!!! Girls are now 4 and 6 and have converted them to having showers, so much quicker!!

pinkchampagne1 · 31/07/2018 20:42

Every day

seven201 · 31/07/2018 20:45

Probably about 4 times a week. I love a soak in the tub! Nowadays I usually end up sharing with my two year old, so not very relaxing.

onanothertrain · 31/07/2018 20:46

Only ever have a bath if I'm away with work and bored in a hotel room

ConstantlyCold · 31/07/2018 20:50

I love baths probably have about 4-5 a week. I share the bath water with dh too. It’s one of the least disgusting things we do together in private Wink

littlemisscomper · 31/07/2018 20:52

I have a spa bath which is awesome! I used it every single day for the first year after it was installed, but that's dropped off to maybe once or twice a week now? Obviously I still shower the other days.

Beardedlobster · 31/07/2018 20:54

Not for years. I hate them they stress me out. I get too hot and feel cramped. I do not understand how people find them relaxing.

MrsExpo · 31/07/2018 20:55

Haven’t had one for years. I dust my bath from time to time but never put actual water in it. (Shower daily, I hasten to add .... Smile)

SpectacularAardvark · 31/07/2018 20:55

As often as possible, I don't get the time much these days but at least once a month. I stay in for hours and left to my own devices (pre-DC) will happily spend most of the day in there, eat meals in there, read, watch films etc. You can't beat a good bath, it was the first thing we installed when we bought the house.

Snowcookie · 31/07/2018 20:57

Never because I hate them. I'd much rather have a shower.

NellMangel · 31/07/2018 20:57

Rarely. It's something I might do if I feel ill with a cold. I can make a bottle of bubble bath last a decade.

SpectacularAardvark · 31/07/2018 20:57

Even DH has come round to the idea, he takes the iPad and chills out (more regularly than me now as he has more time Envy). He'll stay in for a good hour but he's not a total hippo like me.
