to ask how often you have a bath?

I'm not talking about showers, I'm talking lying/sitting down in a tub.

We have been having one about 3 times a week (me and dp share bath water), but I'm wondering if this is too much? We shower the other days, obviously. I know people who never have baths as they say it's too expensive.

Does anyone know how much it costs to have a bath (from the water usage perspective?) Our ater bill isn't outrageous so I'm curious to know how much the baths could be adding to it.

I'd have one every day if I had time. I have at least 2 a week. Wouldn't ever share bath water though - share a bath yes, but not sharing the water between two separate bathers!

brizzledrizzle · 31/07/2018 20:59

Every day except during the recent heatwave when we were saving water. It goes to the water butt normally so we had baths until the water butt was almost full and then stopped.

happypoobum · 31/07/2018 20:59

Never, I hate the feeling of sitting in water like that, Yuck yuck yuck.
Shower every day.

Pasithea · 31/07/2018 20:59

Every day sometimes twice due to y disability.

susurration · 31/07/2018 20:59

Never, showers are cheaper, quicker and more convenient. Plus as a lady on the er... larger side... I can't get in and out easily.

mrwalkensir · 31/07/2018 20:59

2 or 3 a week - the rest of the family get through more water with their long individual power showers

Smoothsailing9 · 31/07/2018 20:59

I’ve lived in my house for four years and only used the bath once after an operation when I couldn’t manage the shower. Can’t be bothered waiting for it to fill and find the heat makes me dizzy. DH and DS2 love baths, DH has been known to have three in one day although we’re now on a meter so he’s not allowed to do that anymore Wink

charliebear78 · 31/07/2018 21:00

Hardly ever! I prefer a shower.
My youngest is the only one in the household who uses the bath.
I find them boring and I hate my skin going all prune like so I can't stay in for long so it feels like a waste..

nicebitofquiche · 31/07/2018 21:01

Had one this morning instead of a shower before work. Just fancied a soak. Probably have a couple a month. More in the winter when I'm cold. I like to read when I'm relaxing.

beeefcake · 31/07/2018 21:01

Once a day in the winter, in the summer about twice a week- I prefer a cold shower in this weather!!

Gemini69 · 31/07/2018 21:01

Shower every morning Grin

Bath every night Grin

my happy place is my wonderfully large bath ... filled with a sprinkling of epsom salts Grin

ButchyRestingFace · 31/07/2018 21:02

Every day. At least once.

Scrub a dub... 🦆

Shutupsidney · 31/07/2018 21:02

Has this turned into a competitive washing hygiene thread yet?

CherryPavlova · 31/07/2018 21:02

Quite often. A bath is the cure for most of life’s ills. Marital dissent, dysmenorrhea, aching joints, stress, sore feet, a raised temperature.

bushtailadventures · 31/07/2018 21:03

Every day, usually, had 2 yesterday but I'm ill and it makes me feel better to have a soak, eases the aches. Normally end up sharing with dgd if she finds out I'm in there...so I take a lot of stealth baths now Smile

Sevendown · 31/07/2018 21:03

Once a week.

Costs less than an electric shower.

PerfectlySymmetricalButtocks · 31/07/2018 21:04

3 times a week. I'm too achy for showers now.

bluerunningshoes · 31/07/2018 21:08

maybe once a year.
I find it booooring.
plus half of me ends up freezing whilst the other half is submerged and warm. so not really relaxing.

birdonawire1 · 31/07/2018 21:09

Twice a year. I the idea of luxuriating in warm scented bubbles, but the reality is I feel hot, uncomfortable and itchy.
I stick to 3 minute daily showers

guessmyusername · 31/07/2018 21:09

Probably at least 20 years since I had a bath (sniff sniff)

Doilooklikeatourist · 31/07/2018 21:09

Last had a bath in October. I think li shower and wash my hair every morning though
Baths are an overrated boring waste of time ( imho)
I’ve no idea of the cost comparison though

GabsAlot · 31/07/2018 21:11

everyday but im not on a meter and have a combi boiler

strawberrry · 31/07/2018 21:11

Every night as I find it easier to shave my legs in the bath than our tiny shower!

MissusGeneHunt · 31/07/2018 21:12

Never. Dull as shite. Shower every day.

Bugjune · 31/07/2018 21:12

Every other day. Reading in an Epsom salt bath is one of life's great pleasures.
