to ask how often you have a bath?

I'm not talking about showers, I'm talking lying/sitting down in a tub.

We have been having one about 3 times a week (me and dp share bath water), but I'm wondering if this is too much? We shower the other days, obviously. I know people who never have baths as they say it's too expensive.

Does anyone know how much it costs to have a bath (from the water usage perspective?) Our ater bill isn't outrageous so I'm curious to know how much the baths could be adding to it.

In autumn, winter, and spring I have a bath every sunday night to set me up for the working week! In summer it's too hot and I don't want one.

Lobsterquadrille2 · 31/07/2018 21:30

Most days. I don't have a shower, but a claw foot bath which I love. I have only a couple of inches of water and it's about 11p, not including the water.

StopPOP · 31/07/2018 21:30

I'm post meal also. Genuinely look forward to it every work eve (Mon-Fri), rest of the time I shower.

It really helps me unwind after my bloody stressful day job. Stick the radio on, fluffy towel and I'm happy.

BoxsetsAndPopcorn · 31/07/2018 21:31

Every day, not keen on showers.

Not heard of the Epsom salts though but they sound relaxing so will pick some up. Presumably they can be used with bath oils and bath bombs etc.

anitagreen · 31/07/2018 21:32

I have a bath every day however in my own one I can't relax I'm bored I just have a wash and I'm out. Yet in my nans bath I can lay there for about Half an hour just chilling out as a teen I used to even lay there and eat in the bath I know this is absolutely rank but I loved it Grin

Both of us bathe daily. Water up to the top, loads of bubbles , whilst listening to some drama on iPad. Using the same bath water is disgusting. Jesus ! The thought of someone else’s skin and sweat ! Gruesome.

Plural · 31/07/2018 21:33

Once a decade maybe?
My bath was new in 2008 an has been used once for a bath

FloofyDoof · 31/07/2018 21:34

Never. We have some stupid eco bath thing in our flat. It's about 6 inches deep (to the overflow holes thing) and has ruined baths for me, it's like trying to have a bath in a bloody paddling pool.

I miss baths.

mydogisthebest · 31/07/2018 21:34

I haven't had a bath for about 30 years. I shower every day, sometimes twice a day. Baths are such a waste of water. It takes ages to fill a bath then it goes cold really quickly, your skin goes like a prune and you sit in your own dirt yuk

We don't even have a bath in the house

INeedMoreCakeInMyLife · 31/07/2018 21:35

Bath every night. Shower every morning.
Love a nice hot soak after dinner and washed up.. Then dp entertains baby and does bottles whilst I chill

Olivo · 31/07/2018 21:35

Shower every morning and bath 3very evening. It takes forever to get to sleep if I don't have a bath. Bubbles, lavender oil and the newspaper - perfect!

CrochetBelle · 31/07/2018 21:35

It's been years. I struggle too much to get in and out of the bath and it doesn't seem fair to ask the kids to help Sad

DC1 - rarely over the past year, prefers showers.
DC2 - maybe once a week on average.

Judydreamsofhorses · 31/07/2018 21:35

I love baths, one of my favourite leisure activities. Pile of magazines, face mask, loads of bubbles, I can stay in for hours. I tend to have one on a Saturday or Sunday afternoon, then just put on fresh pyjamas. Last week I mentioned to DP that I would have to get out because I was hungry, and he brought me cheese and biscuits in there!

EnriqueTheRingBearingLizard · 31/07/2018 21:37

I had a fairly short one in June 2016 for sure, can't recall if I've had once since. I much prefer a refreshing shower and don't generally care for wallowing at all.

staycalmer · 31/07/2018 21:39

Envy Envy Envy (hint, not envy)

EdWinchester · 31/07/2018 21:41

I have a shower every morning and a long bath every evening, with a book and candles and often, a glass of wine. I follow the bath with a quick shower to get clean.

Tawdrylocalbrouhaha · 31/07/2018 21:41

I have a bath most nights - just 10 mins or so. I feel like being immersed soaks the day's cares away and I emerge peaceful and clean. I like a nice podcast to listen to while I soak.

grumpy4squash · 31/07/2018 21:44

I last had a bath in 2014, post-surgery. Two days in a row (then back to showers).

AliceRR · 31/07/2018 21:44

We recently had a new bathroom fitted and got rid of our bath in favour of a large wet room / shower. Before that I had a bath most nights. Otherwise a shower (I had one or the other every day but mostly baths)

Bananarama12 · 31/07/2018 21:46

Every night and in the winter whenever I am really cold! I look forward to bath and bed every night. Sad I know. I just love a bath.

Faster · 31/07/2018 21:48

Once a week on a Sunday evening. DS goes to his dads house and I generally have a glass of wine in the bath and read a few chapters of Harry Potter.

YoThePussy · 31/07/2018 21:48

Once a year whether I need it or not.

Esspee · 31/07/2018 21:49

Daily, sometimes twice a day. I love a warm bath.
