...to think that if you repeatedly get your cock out in public (allegedly) you aren't fit to offer advice to government about whether women-only facilities should become mixed-sex?

OK, I know IABU in offering a Daily Fail link, but the Guardian haven't yet covered this:

www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-6003331/Britains-official-transgender-student-officer-suspended.html

Jess Bradley was one of the very limited number of people invited to give evidence to Maria Miller's Women and Equalities Select Committee investigation, which kicked off the current proposals to change the Gender Recognition Act so that anyone who says they are a woman is legally regarded as a woman, even if they still have a penis (and a beard and anything else they like - saying "I am a woman" would literally be the only requirement). These proposed changes in the law would mean the end of women-only services and de facto mean all services, including hospital wards, changing rooms, etc, would become mixed-sex.

Jess Bradley was also until very recently a director of Action for Trans Health, an activist group whose list of batshit demands includes the immediate release of all trans prisoners.

AIBU to think that everyone in government and beyond (including the NHS) who took advice from this individual should now reassess the value of that advice?

YADNBU. The next thing is that Bradley will be the main consultant on laws relating to whether men should be permitted to get their cocks out in public and masturbate in public areas while leering at young girls.

PositivelyPERF · 30/07/2018 10:23

TheShapeOfEwe Are you trying to say that Bradley isn’t the right kind of transwoman? You know that you would be considered a ‘transphobe’ because you are discussing what’s is in Bradley‘s pants, don’t you? You are not permitted to discuss what is in the pants of a man who pretends to be woman.

FeminaSum · 30/07/2018 10:24

It actually says explicitly in my post that I think all women should be consulted.

No. You mentioned transwomen, 'cis women,' transmen and 'cis men'

I'm a woman and I don't fit into any of those categories. I'm not 'cis'

Except it will probably be "whether women should be permitted to get their cocks out in public and masturbate in public areas while leering at young girls". :(

TheShapeOfEwe · 30/07/2018 10:26

PositivelyPERF I'm not saying anything about the contents of anybody's pants - what a weird suggestion. I'm saying that if she has behaved inappropriately and exposed herself etc then she clearly isn't a suitable government adviser because she lacks the right moral attitude and human decency.

WonderfulWonders · 30/07/2018 10:26

shapeofewe if if if if if. Have you read his statement? Pretty clear there's no "if" about it.

And I'll assume you have no idea re the consultation. 10 trans activists/groups (some of them as "problematic" as Jess) gave evidence. Not one women's group was invited to do so, despite submitting reems of material.

TheShapeOfEwe · 30/07/2018 10:27

Apologies, I should also have included nonbinary people - it wasn't my intention to exclude, thanks for pointing that out.

Gileswithachainsaw · 30/07/2018 10:29

shape
You do realise that if this goes ahead the jess Bradley's of the world will have full access to your Dds or nieces or step dds or elderly parebts/grandparents etc in hospitals guide camps school changing rooms, shops changing rooms, school toilets, public toilets, swimming changing rooms

You want to die on the hill that allows men to have full access?

There is no way to allow one but not the other in.

Iamagreyhoundhearmeroar · 30/07/2018 10:30

Stop it, Ewe Hmm

PositivelyPERF · 30/07/2018 10:31

No TheShapeOfEwe, you don’t get to define women. You can fuck right of with your definitions. I’m a woman. That’s it!

Nice job of derailing the thread, though. 👍🏻

TheShapeOfEwe · 30/07/2018 10:32

I must admit I'm much more au fait with the Scottish consultation because I live in Scotland but up here many women's groups (including Rape Crisis Scotland and Scottish Women's Aid) were consulted. Those orgs are in fact supportive of reform - not sure what your view on that is!

TheShapeOfEwe · 30/07/2018 10:34

No TheShapeOfEwe, you don’t get to define women.

Neither do you.

Your view is not universally correct just because you believe it wholeheartedly. It's still just your opinion. And you can define women however you like - but you can't stop me from doing the same.

Gileswithachainsaw · 30/07/2018 10:35

Cos what happens if they don't comply ?

Does eveeyone shake hands and cheeroly walk off. Or do women get beaten up or threatened or doxxed online?

The Scottish consultation has been exposed as not having taken women and girls into consideration at all. No risk assessments carried out.

WonderfulWonders · 30/07/2018 10:36

There used to a name for men who encouraged school boys to masturbate and share their experiences with adults on line.

Those men were, rightly vilified. It's astounding that they are now supported.

differentnameforthis · 30/07/2018 10:37

Listening to someone does not mean you have to agree with them Do you really think someone who posts pictures of a child character being raped, and a father raping his step son (obviously a porn thing, but still inferring that he enjoys seeing younger males raped by much older males) should be giving advice to anyone?

Because I don't.

TheShapeOfEwe · 30/07/2018 10:38

Can I just clarify - are you actually suggesting that in Scotland these organisations (organisations which have fought for and upheld the rights of woman in the face of fierce opposition for decades) are lying and pretending to support the reforms out of fear of the repercussions?

That is an absurd conspiracy theory.

WonderfulWonders · 30/07/2018 10:39

Womens organisations are being told to support reforms of have their funding withdrawn. Plenty of actual evidence of this if you care to look Sad

YetAnotherSpartacus · 30/07/2018 10:40

Can someone post some links to where the rape images are? I didn't see these.

Also, can someone post links to the discussion of boys and school? I did see this, but now I can't find it.

PositivelyPERF · 30/07/2018 10:41

Neither do you FYI Cis is actually a banned word on Mumsnet, but I’ll not bother reporting you as it’s good for women to see what bullshite the TRAs want to push on to them. The misogyny is just seeping out of you, isn’t it? It must make you so angry that more and more women are refusing to be nice and act as if they actually believe the fantasy that men can change sex. Never mind, use any made up word you want. You can no more change what a real woman is, than a person can change sex.

Under his eye.

TheShapeOfEwe · 30/07/2018 10:42

You have no idea do you

Vague mutterings about having no idea won't cut it I'm afraid - all conspiracy theorists think their pet theory is clear as a bell to those in the know and assume that anyone who doesn't accept it is just too blind to see reality. You need hard evidence and actual facts to support your (patently absurd) claim, I'm afraid.

ToeToToe · 30/07/2018 10:43

Anyone who doesn't want to read the Mail on Sunday article can read Bradley's own statement on the matter.

jessbradleystatement.wordpress.com/

Or if you don't want to click on the personal blog:

"I have currently been suspended from my role at NUS pending an investigation. Due to my contractual obligations to keep the nature and details of the investigation confidential, there are a number of things I would like to say but am currently not able to talk about without risking my job. I appreciate at this time there is a lot of speculation about my conduct and I am able to tell you that I am confident that none of my behaviour has been unlawful, and that I have not engaged in sexual activity with anyone, or in the view of anyone, without their consent. I intend to engage cooperatively with NUS’ investigation, and hope I should be in a position to talk about the situation in full to the communities that I am accountable to.

This statement is all I am going to say on this matter until the NUS investigation is completed."

Note the complete lack of denial.

Jess Bradley is a self-identified non-binary transwoman (whatever that means) and tried to use the Cliff Richard privacy case to stop the Mail publishing this - and failed. Bradley engaged Carter Ruck to try to stop this information being reported.

Bradley does not want you to know that they have been suspended from their NUS Trans Officer role pending an investigation.

Bradley doesn't want you to know about this, because Bradley currently has the ear of the Government on the consultation re. the GRA and gender self ID, which could severely impact on women's sex-segregated facilities like changing rooms, toilets, hospital wards, prisons. Bradley has been interviewed on Sky News about this - but was strangely silent about the exhibitionism/nudism thing.

I suspect most women would agree that Bradley - and Bradley's exposed penis - have no place in women's facilities.

Hygge · 30/07/2018 10:44

@Shape - If you live in Scotland are you aware that Jess Bradley was a Director or Edinburgh Action for Trans Health when they advocated violence against women by tweeting about punching TERF's (another made up word like cis) and likening TERF's to Nazi's?

TERF's being anybody who raises even one concern about the effects all this is having on the lives or safety of women and girls.

Did Jess Bradley become unsuitable to consult with the government for you at this point of advocating violence against women or was it only after Jess Bradley started taking dick pics in the workplace and the park?

TheShapeOfEwe · 30/07/2018 10:44

You can no more change what a real woman is, than a person can change sex.

For someone so engaged in this debate this is a surprising misunderstanding of what it means to be trans. Nobody is suggesting that trans people change sex. But sex and gender are not the same thing, and do not necessarily correspond with each other.
