I'm here in a blanket in the south west in a 3 story Edwardian and it's cloudy.

I've felt other heatwaves but this one doesn't even register tbh

Haha you’re just being a goady fucker now. Well done, you’ve got people going 👏

JessyJames · 26/07/2018 14:47

34° here in Surrey today.

Marmite27 · 26/07/2018 14:47

While I was composing the above message the heavens did indeed open for all of 20 seconds.

After getting one load of washing in, it had already dried on the flagstones Hmm

ILoveMyDressingGown · 26/07/2018 14:48

a few days Grin Grin
I suppose 4+ weeks could still be classed as a few days...

Gettingbackonmyfeet · 26/07/2018 14:51

I get really frustrated at posts like this...its wonderful that you feel ok but why on earth do you feel the need to invalidate anyone else whose struggling ? That's really rather a nasty attitude

You can be happy with yourself but not need to tell others they should feel differently

I'm in Essex and I assure you we are not being dramatic but it's tough going and it is most definately hotter than normal

Please just stay nice and cool and comfortable and not try to invalidate my experience because you feel you know better

runningkeenster · 26/07/2018 14:51

I've just seen a tweet from the Scottish fire and rescue service saying that although it's not as hot as in the south-east of England it is still very hot and that wildfire is a risk.

The Met Office infographic they refer to has high temperatures across the country.

I dislike the London-centric attitude of the UK media but in this case it is inaccurate to say it is only hot in the Home Counties and London.

Jkoakham · 26/07/2018 14:51

It hasn't been this hot for a few weeks, it's been warm that's all with no rain.

Where you are, yes. Still haven’t grasped there are other places, have you OP?

restingbemusedface · 26/07/2018 14:52

I live in a new build which is insulated to fuck and have a massive glass balcony door that the sun blazes through from 1pm-8pm. I can assure you it’s fucking hot.

Jkoakham · 26/07/2018 14:52

They issues weather warnings just about every week, hot, cold, windy, wet there's always something. Weather just isn't a big risk in this country, air pollution is a reall killer.

What a joker you are OP Grin

Chinnyreckoning · 26/07/2018 14:54

24 degrees here today which is the hottest it's been in a week.
Come to Scotland folks....oh and house prices are fan. We have a 3 bed detached house with huge garden in a lovely town and such a nice area... 160k.

apinkteapromise · 26/07/2018 14:55

Is the heat getting to you op?

Don't worry it's happening to all of us Grin

mumeeee · 26/07/2018 14:57

It's 26 degrees here both in and outdoors. It was even 20 degrees in the middle of the night and forecast to get hotter.
We have only had a little bit of rain since the middle of June.
The temperature is in it's 30s where my daughter lives.
So YABU it might not be hot where you are but it's definitely hot in most of the country.

OpenThatTrapDoor · 26/07/2018 15:02

I’ve been sat in a crowded hospital ante-natal clinic waiting room for two hours, and likely to be a fair while longer.....it’s bloody hot here! Lots of very uncomfortable pregnant ladies 😩

Cantspell2 · 26/07/2018 15:03

I am on the south coast and it is 27 degrees. I have just come in from the garden where I have been cutting back and pulling out £££ worth of plants that have given up due to lack of rain and the sun frying them.
Still loving it though and it is great for the small local businesses that are doing a bumper trade due to the extra visitors to the beaches. After a long wet cold winter some were looking to go under if we didn’t get a decent summer.

BottleOfJameson · 26/07/2018 15:05

I never get how people don't realise that their experience isn't universal. I'm not hot. There's no heatwave. I smoke/drink/eat crap and don't have any health problems therefore smoking/drinking/eating crap doesn't cause health problems.

LittleLionMansMummy · 26/07/2018 15:14

I dislike the London-centric attitude of the UK media but in this case it is inaccurate to say it is only hot in the Home Counties and London.

^This. Also, at the moment it seems more of an east/ west split with the west being warm or very warm and the east being hot. It looks like even Newcastle is high 20s.

LadyDeadpool · 26/07/2018 15:14

Well it's 29c in my bedroom in my 3 storey end of terrace victorian house in the east midlands with the curtains shut and a fan running. So it's not just the south east suffering we've had wildfires just down the road from us twice now.

I'm off to the norfolk coast next week and am so looking forward to that cold sea breeze.

sickmumma · 26/07/2018 15:17

In Surrey and it's roasting! All fans are on and I've spent most of my day in the pool!!

seventhgonickname · 26/07/2018 15:25

I woke up this morning because I was cold! It's not been too bad in the Midlands and out away from the city we have had lots of clear skies at night so cools down alot.(until the bastard cat decides he must come in my room bringing the hot air from downstairs up)Still surprised this morning.
Never mind,it's the school holidays so the rain will come.

Bluelady · 26/07/2018 15:26

31 here. I'm a sun worshipper but the humidity is making it ver unpleasant today.

CheeseAndBeans · 26/07/2018 15:28

It’s hot! 33c in my back garden in Sussex. 29c in my front room.

I had to put the kids paddling pool in the front garden today, the back garden is a sun trap and unbearable. We are all sitting out the front eating ice lollies in the shade. It’s lovely! Neighbours have given me some odd looks but who cares!

QuestionableMouse · 26/07/2018 15:30

Car read 33 yesterday and the seats/steering wheel were too hot to touch.

The humidity (80% here) bothers me more than the pure heat.

JustDanceAddict · 26/07/2018 15:32

I’m in the SE and it’s 34 degrees out and high 20s in the house. I’m boiling.
