I'm here in a blanket in the south west in a 3 story Edwardian and it's cloudy.

I've felt other heatwaves but this one doesn't even register tbh

Geordiegirl1988 · 26/07/2018 20:57

Mof3K · 26/07/2018 20:58

Whole house used. Dont have a spare floor...

sulflower · 26/07/2018 21:00

OP - C5 at 9pm, Heatwave: Scorched Britain.

LavendarGreen · 26/07/2018 21:11

Currently 28C (82 F) where I am in the midlands at 9.10pm!

Yeah, it's not hot at all! Hmm

IamPickleRick · 26/07/2018 21:15

Longwayoff there is a lightning map! This is excellent news! How cool is that!

user1510568216 · 26/07/2018 21:21

@Chinnyreckoning today was the best we've had for a wee while. No complaining here! It's supposed to rain tomorrow which is ideal as we're going to the Little Mix concert. Soaked we will be! Send some of this awesome weather our way for the weekend please!
OP my parents house is like yours. Could be 100 deg outside & it's freezing in their house.

MariaMadita · 26/07/2018 21:24

It's currently 27 degrees where I am... And should be 35 tomorrow.

I think it's pretty hot. It would be fine if I could have a long lunch break / a midday nap but I unfortunately can't. Which is why it sort of sucks.

(Also, the forests etc are extremely dry and it's apparently starting to become an issue for certain kinds of farmers...)

Andromeida59 · 26/07/2018 21:26

In a Victorian semi detached. It's very hot here. Currently 29°. NW UK.

Tartsamazeballs · 26/07/2018 21:29

Outdoors was around 33 today, indoors peaked at 29.5 with all doors and windows closed in a well insulated house, currently a balmy 27....

I can think we safely describe it as warm.

Pengweng · 26/07/2018 21:31

I'm in Manchester and it's been 29 here today. Not much cooler inside. I'm sick of being hot!

Piggywaspushed · 26/07/2018 21:32

But hang on : all the lightning is in the north at the mo. According to OP logic, this means there is no lightning and it is just the DM whipping up a frenzy.

haverhill · 26/07/2018 21:35

It was 33 degrees here today. That’s hot. It hasn’t rained for weeks and weeks. It’s a proper heatwave.

oliveoiledolivia · 26/07/2018 21:46

32 in car today. My make up melted. My makeup thought it was hotttttt! Kids spent all week in paddling pool. Hot here in south east

Quartz2208 · 26/07/2018 21:48

Actually just watching the channel 5 programme and its not just the UK Sweden has forest fires at the moment as does Greece

GabsAlot · 26/07/2018 21:49

nones laughing at us we're hotter than alotof europe atm and its not normal for us

Myusernameismud · 26/07/2018 21:56

My bedroom is currently 25 degrees with the air con on. Admittedly it's only been on for an hour, but I doubt it'll drop below 20 tonight.
It was 36 here today, so hot that I actually melted. I would like it to be known that I now identify as a puddle. My pronouns are wet, splosh and fanjo mist.

JustBeingJobless · 26/07/2018 21:58

It’s still 27 here both inside and out. I fucking hate it! My poor dog is moping around wanting a walk but it’s not cooled down enough yet to take her out. I’m in Derbyshire, so not South and my car was telling me it was 32 earlier.

MyNameIsNotSteven · 26/07/2018 21:59

About 25 here in my 1960s property.

paxillin · 26/07/2018 22:00

London drops to 20 overnight and 17 tomorrow

It is still 28 now and 33-37 forecast for tomorrow. It's hot.

IamPickleRick · 26/07/2018 22:03

I’m in London near the marshes. I can smell rain but it’s not here yet Grin soon! Sooooon!

Piggywaspushed · 26/07/2018 22:03

Your aircon must be good puddle! Mines been on since 2pm and it's 27...

rainforesttreeswinging · 26/07/2018 22:04

Gloucestershire ended up being 33c, so much for a cooler day, no chance. The fields are tinder dry and look like the Sahara. The birds have fled, only leaving the crowd that are enjoying the dying wildlife. That said the warm tropical beeeze was welcome and such dry heat makes me think of holidays not working. My hairbrush melted in the car ffs
The idea that the SW has been spared is total rubbish

rainforesttreeswinging · 26/07/2018 22:05

Crows

SmiledWithTheRisingSun · 26/07/2018 22:05

It's been 34 here today.
I'm lying in bed with all the windows open at 10pm and it's 27. I'm feeling hot.
