to think the worst part of the heatwave is the constantly sweaty (ahem) vulva?

Yes, I have NC'd for this. Blush

Anyone else getting irritated by constant irritation due to the heat? The sweat causes 'paper cuts' and it stings when I have a bath etc.

Roll on autumn!!!

Last week before schools broke up, I was sitting in Assembly in a lovely plastic chair. As I stood up to escort my class out, there was a massive 'sluuurrrp' as I heaved my sweaty body off the chair. Many heads swivelled in my direction I can tell you Blush

Bunnyfuller · 24/07/2018 20:00

I’m sweating everywhere. The nether and underboob are my secret pain, what I hate is sweating with it pooling off my forehead. At work. In meetings. With men. Looking like the menopausal fat bird I am.

Not good for the self esteem, which is fairly rubbish anyway!

WhentheDealGoesDown · 24/07/2018 20:03

Also I have some nice coloured cotton trousers and tops but I am having to wear navy trousers and patterned tops to hide the sweat marks, wouldn’t want to get up off my chair and look like I had wet myself

HighwayDragon1 · 24/07/2018 20:03

I get this. There are a couple of things that help the sweat

Complete hair removal
Cotton loose pants
Panty liner
Roll on deodorant between your legs-top of the tights, stops chafing

Undergoing sweat sucks too

TrashPanda · 24/07/2018 20:05

Yup sweaty underboob here too! Also breastfeeding so going through breastpads at an alarming rate, not quite sure if it's mostly sweat or breastmilk making them so wet.

Mummyoflittledragon · 24/07/2018 20:06

Going commando is the best way forward but perhaps not out in public.

I had a hysterectomy a month ago. I’m wearing jersey maxi dresses and nothing more.

Embrace it. I haven’t worn pants for weeks.

RiverTam · 24/07/2018 20:07

Urg, bodyglide is horrible stuff! I hated the sensation of my thighs sliding past each other, yeuch!

Might try lanacane powder. Luckily I’m going on holiday somewhere cooler, thank god!

pink1173 · 24/07/2018 20:08

To stop thighs rubbing together just use roll on deodorant on your thighs. I use Mitchum and that really works

newmumwithquestions · 24/07/2018 20:09

Actually just thought I’d add that I had a smear test and realised I had no pants on. I was embarrassed about not not wearing any so pretended that I was wearing some and go through the motions as if I was taking them off!

User183737 · 24/07/2018 20:10

Paper cuts wtf

newmumwithquestions · 24/07/2018 20:10

And I can speak English. Just not type it seems...

ScattyCharly · 24/07/2018 20:10

Op (sorry to be personal!) but I think this situation is improved by having a full bush because the pubes seem to hold the sweat somehow so sweat doesn’t stay on the skin and cause rubbing. Other than that, I would suggest wearing proper knickers (not string) made out of absorbing fabric (nice multipack from M&S) and changing them a couple of times a day.

ChoccoBiccy66 · 24/07/2018 20:11

I've been wearing cotton pants and it is HORRENDOUS when I go to the loo and I see these MASSIVE sweat rings around the leg holes.

Nothisispatrick · 24/07/2018 20:11

I'm pregnant so more blood and things going on in that area. It's absolutely hideous. I'm getting a bikini wax next week as the sweaty hairiness makes me feel gross.

cloudyweewee · 24/07/2018 20:12

This thread has made me realise that I am normal. Sweaty, but normal.

delphguelph · 24/07/2018 20:16

Might have to go commando I think.

Seems like its the norm nowadays

rainbowstardrops · 24/07/2018 20:18

I HAVE FOUND MY PEOPLE!!!!!!

Cairnzy · 24/07/2018 20:20

OP, if it persists or you get itching, please think about going to gp. There's a condition called lichen sclerosis which can cause the vulva tissue to become thinner and tear. 'Paper cuts' are how women describe it.

user1467662525 · 24/07/2018 20:21

I have never had this problem

OnTopOfSpaghetti · 24/07/2018 20:22

Sweaty, erm, crotchwww.mumsnet.com/Talk/_chat/3311742-sweaty-erm-crotch
This thread had some good tips!

CelebratedMonkey · 24/07/2018 20:23

Definitely worth GP if it persists. Aside from lichen sclerosis as mentioned, thrush can cause ulcers that would sting. I'm still not sure if I had it or not but I took the flucanazole tablet (bought over counter) as I reacted to canestan and three days later am much better.

MinaPaws · 24/07/2018 20:27

I'm fat and recommend cotton pants, linen trousers or cotton short leggings (£2 in Primark) under dresses. No chub rub, no visible sweat.

Felixandtheflippers · 24/07/2018 20:27

Fem fresh- that’s your friend- happens once you hit a certain age!

Blatherskite · 24/07/2018 20:30

Please don't use talc around your genitals! There is research linking it, albeit tentatively, to ovarian cancer
