Mine was £79 from Tiffany Rose earlier in the year, maternity dress. I was 7 months pregnant when we got married. Got married less than 3 months after getting engaged. No expense, no fuss, lovely dress and lovely day Smile

£300 + £50 alterations Debenhams in 1991. Sold it for £115 at a 2nd hand bridal store sale or return

RocketPockets · 22/07/2018 17:52

£584 in 2015. Can't remember the designer but it was a big one from a local dress shop.

FlindersKeepers · 22/07/2018 17:54

Bought in San Francisco two weeks ago, £620. Willowby by Watters. It's a sample so got 2/3rds off. First one tried, bingo. Didn't even bother trying another shop!
Took it as hand luggage on flight back to Europe, the dress went business class in their wardrobe thanks to the flight crew!
Shoes are Badgley Mishka from Nordstrom Rack and a fake fur jackety cape thing has just cleared customs so should arrive shortly, whoop whoop.

MrsT4 · 22/07/2018 17:54

@VeryHangryCaterpillar Me too! I wonder if we had the same dress.

SelenaMeyer2016 · 22/07/2018 17:55

£750 for a vintage early 60s dress - l loved the lace! Plus £250 for alterations by the recommended seamstress.

Another £600 for further alterations after recommended seamstress had clearly not worked with vintage lace before nor had any idea what she was doing. I actually posted on here and got some really helpful advice :)

Worth it though - loved every minute of my wedding and would love to do it all again :)

Aeroflotgirl · 22/07/2018 17:56

Mine was £300 in 2004 from Pronuptia in Northampton.

shalo2 · 22/07/2018 17:56

My first wedding 20 years ago was by Mori Lee around £800. My second wedding 10 years ago my dress was by Pronovias around £1200 and was amazing.. Still love it today!

Since2016 · 22/07/2018 18:00

2.5k approx new. But I bought it 2nd hand (an absolute find as I'm v tall and (was) v thin) for £800. Alterations and bolero etc added another £200 but easily saved >1k. It was Jessie by Augusta Jones but I didn't wear it strapless.

Sunrise888 · 22/07/2018 18:00

£1600 Claire Pettibone in New year sales. Shoes were £100+. Dress was pricey but totally worth it!

Catsandkids78 · 22/07/2018 18:03

For any recent brides you can sell them on StillWhite ( a website) if you want to recoup!

RuggerHug · 22/07/2018 18:07

£18 from Lindy Bop 2 years ago!

Treacletoots · 22/07/2018 18:07

I paid £800 for a dress second hand that was originally £2900. I fell in love with it from a picture and could only find it second hand as it was quite old.

It looked absolutely incredible but was the most uncomfortable outfit imaginable. I changed into my Monsoon dancing outfit shortly before tea time.

MrBloomsLeftVeg · 22/07/2018 18:08

£30 in 2011

C0untDucku1a · 22/07/2018 18:09

£900 maggie sottero from a local boutique in 2008.

Celestia26 · 22/07/2018 18:11

£200 from a special bridal charity shop, but brand new.

MrsICantSayMyName · 22/07/2018 18:12

£250 from shpock had it altered so about 450 now

Cistersaredoingitforthemselves · 22/07/2018 18:13

£1000 in 2008 from a wedding dress shop in Chester.

Was the first one I tried on and it made my mum cry. Tried on loads more - some much more money.

Not one as good as the first dress. I couldn't afford it as it was above my budget. Mum went outside to call my dad ...they decided to pay for it!!!

Haven't sold it - can bring myself to let it go.

BikeRunSki · 22/07/2018 18:15

£725, 19 years ago.
It was actually an Amanda Wakeley evening gown.

BonjourMinou · 22/07/2018 18:16

£1200 plus veil, plus hoop, plus alterations and shoes. So probably about £1800 all in?

Benjamin Roberts and I loved every second of wearing it.

Could probably squeeze one leg in it now!

stopdropandroll · 22/07/2018 18:21

$2 ($3.99 with 50%) off in a thrift shop somewhere in the middle of the US. it’s a floor-length (on me) lace & silk slip. i wore it a couple of years later when we eloped to california Smile

Storminateapot · 22/07/2018 18:21

About £1000 in 1999. It was bespoke/hand made & my Mum paid for it (we paid for everything else ourselves). Shoes in the same fabric & a tiara on top, can't remember how much they were, but the shoes were also hand made (and not very comfortable!).

crispysausagerolls · 22/07/2018 18:22

Approx 20k including veil - was couture and my mother paid for it. One of the best experiences of my life going for all of the fittings and having it made from scratch. I realise that this is not the norm though and I was very grateful for the experience.

Yogafailure · 22/07/2018 18:23
