Eat the above then wait.

Voilà.

Fiber, water, warm drinks, prop up your feet on a bun in front of you, privacy and time.

SeaToSki · 18/07/2018 12:50

Lots of kiwi fruit
Dried apricots
Lots and lots of water

Mulberry72 · 18/07/2018 12:51

Glycerin suppositories.

Work like a charm for me, not sure if they’re BF compatible though!

Tobebythesea · 18/07/2018 12:51

Prunes and exercise

Snugglepumpkin · 18/07/2018 12:55

liquorice, but don't eat too much.
Can deplete levels of potassium.

sureitsgrand · 18/07/2018 12:56

Ok about to get my second coffee. Fruit wise I have pears, tangerines and just ate a load of raisins. Keep them coming- it's been days....

RayRayBidet · 18/07/2018 12:58

gerispringer · 18/07/2018 12:59

bialystockandbloom · 18/07/2018 12:59

Magnesium

sureitsgrand · 18/07/2018 13:00

Magnesium? In what form? Where does one buy it I've only ever used it in spray form for pain relief I think.

Dried fruit & lots of water. Especially effective are apples, figs, prunes, raisins. I also find beansprouts, & any raw or lightly cooked veg to be good. So a stir-fry of lots of veg, with a little brown rice for dinner could be good.

RiverTam · 18/07/2018 13:04

A browse in a bookshop or library. Seriously.

frenchfancy · 18/07/2018 13:05

Prune Juice, Magnesium tablets (sold with vitamins/food suppléments) or Turmeric (available in table form - might be Under the name curcuma)

Jozxyqk · 18/07/2018 13:06

Magnesium oxide. It's the cheapest form but causes the runs & gas for ages - months - until the body gets used to it. I take it for migraines. Can buy from Bodycare, H&B, Boots etc.

tattychicken · 18/07/2018 13:09

I use this one, keeps me regular. If I run out, within days I'm constipated. www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B00JUZA9TS/ref=cm_sw_r_oth_api_L2YtBb5MVTHPN?tag=mumsnetforum-21

DunkandEggAgain · 18/07/2018 13:09

Prune juice works for me.
Inulin powder
There's an OTC syrup fructose/glucose/something-ose...lactulose, is that it?

Mum2jenny · 18/07/2018 13:12

I agree with rivertam, libraries are excellent for encouraging bowel movements

Roomba · 18/07/2018 13:14

You can take lacyilose while breastfeeding, can't you? I was prescribed it when bf so I assume so unless something has changed. It works well as it softens everything, rather than causing cramps and explosions like many other laxatives do.

Also prunes, coffee, orange juice and LOTS of water.

Roomba · 18/07/2018 13:14

That should say Lactulose!

halfwitpicker · 18/07/2018 13:16

Oooh, a good one, pineapple. Try and eat a full one. You'll be shitting through the eye of a needle.
